This place doesn't have the greatest ambience but the food options are good. I don't eat french fries much but these are worth eating from time to time, even if you are a health nut. I love Smash, but came in for a couple of shakes on a Saturday evening. There were a couple of high school kids running the place with no apparent manager in site, I suppose doing the best they could given their age and lack of any supervision... but that meant waiting about 15 minutes for two shakes when there was only one other customer in the place. read more

I'm absolutely shocked on how bad of a train wreck this place is. I've given this location 2 chances and won't be back for a third. The first time I came in it took them 45 minutes to get me an order of their haystack onions. 45 minutes for deep fried onions. Really? I came by a second time to give them another shot. I spent 20 minutes in line before looking around and realizing that the woman that was waiting for her food when I came in was still foodless! The line hadn't moved at all either. Looking at the staff the girl on the register looked super bored and didn't look up at the customer once. The manager was standing by the back looking at the heat lamp, and the two guys in the back were talking and listening to music through their earbuds instead of making orders. Food was standard for SmashBurger and the same quality as the other locations I've been to. What was truly disappointing about this location was how rude and difficult the staff were. My family stood at the front for about 8 minutes before any staff who stood right in front of us acknowledged our presence. Before we even ordered we were told by a clearly flustered young woman that our wait would be 25 minutes. It felt as if she was trying to convince us to leave. (Food came out in probably the 5-8 minute range.) More than this the entire interior of the store was unclean and filthy. There wasn't a clean seat or table to sit at. Tables not wiped, dirty trays on the table, and service numbers left all over the place. We chose to sit outside on the patio where there was some semblance of cleanliness. This review has nothing to do with the quality of food and rather the work ethic of the employees and clear lack of leadership by management. An unfortunate dining experience. read more

Worst customer service ever! If Yelp had negative stars, this location would get a Negative 100. We ordered online for pickup, and they had to remake our food because it sat for 25 minutes. Love most smash burger restaurants. This one is terrible. Waited forever for our food. Over 30 minutes after a long line to order. When they finally called us for our food we saw it was a bag that we had been watching, and had been sitting there for 15 minutes, not even under a heat lamp. As expected, it was all cold, dry and awful. I wish I could go under 1 star. I wish I could hand this terrible food back across the counter and demand a refund without driving back. Where do I even begin with these insanely long wait times. They have 1 cashier for 50 customers lined out the door. Here's the hilarious thing. The ONE cashier has to make all of the milkshakes, resulting in zero cashiers for a good minute. Meanwhile there's another employee whose only job is to stand near the screen and deliver the order to the table. WHY NOT PUT HER ON THE REGISTER TOO? OR AT LEAST HAVE HER MAKE THE MILKSHAKES??? I've been here twice in the last few weeks and each time they got my order wrong. Ordered a bbq bacon cheese burger both times and was given the wrong order. First time was a classic burger and the second time was the Colorado burger. I'm not sure how you could screw that up BOTH TIMES but they some how managed. We ordered 2 burgers, a salad, a shake and a side of pickles. 15 minutes later the burgers arrived. After another 10 I went up and collected our melting shake from the counter. The manager explained our fried pickles were being remade because they were cold when the burgers came out. After our meal was over the manager brought our fried pickles out. Horrible service. I just don't understand the way Smashburger proudly announces "seals in the juices". When you smash the s**t out of a piece of ground beef on a hot griddle you end up with a piece of dry, well done meat-flavored cardboard. Specially when the burger is brought out 10 minutes after it was cooked. The staff is friendly and the shakes are OK. I have a soft spot for sweet potato fries, and could avoid my family's request for a burger "puck" no longer. They are also one of the few places with fried egg available. It had been a year since a SB visit. It'll be another year at least in my book. Maybe corporate SB should perform blind visits to their stores (i refuse to call them restaurants) to see what their brand is proffering. P.S. This is the email I sent to management 9 days ago. No reply. Second time coming to Smash Burger. Ordered BBQ Bacon Cheddar burger first time, came with lettuce, tomato, etc. This time ordered the same thing and there was no lettuce, tomato (even though cashier asked if we wanted all the fixins). So when food was brought to us, I asked for my missing order of fries and for onion and tomato. Note I asked very politely and we were the only ones in restaurant. The cashier said she would get it, and to save her the trip, I decided to come to counter to pick it up. When I turned corner, the cashier said loudly to the cook "well, you know how people are" in a very rude fashion. She turned around and saw me three feet away and did not know what to say, so she said nothing, neither did I. I went and sat back down and decided to let her know how I felt. I calmly told her I heard what she said and I felt it was insulting. She said it had nothing to do with me, but she was talking to the cook. I said, yes you were talking to the cook about me. She said no she wasn't. Note again, there were NO other customers in the restaurant at this time. I went back to my seat and sat down, ate and left. Her name was Sherrie and she had dark hair with a large bun. The name Sherrie was on my receipt so please verify if this is the correct person that matches my description of her. As others came in to order she was the only one on the register. I feel that if you hire people to represent your company, they should not complain about customers in front of customers, then lie directly to their faces. I plan on yelping, but wanted to see if you even care about my experience, if not, I will not be going back. I am not doing this for free food. I would like to know if I go back I will be insulted again. It really was a bad experience because of this woman. If you have video footage in the restaurant, you will see how she acted and that I was polite and kind the entire time and never raised my voice or was rude. Frankly, I was to shocked at the treatment to react. This is a new location and my second visit. I would be extremely hesitant to give this place another chance. read more

I've eaten at the Smashburger on Youngfield in Lakewood a few times and it was always great, thus I was extremely disappointed when I went to the one in Westminster. The service was very slow, though not unexpected because it was two days before Christmas and so the place was crowded. When I finally got my order, the fries were barely warm and the burger was extremely overcooked yet lukewarm. It was nearly black on the outside, brown all the way through and very dry. I've had McDonalds burgers that were better. I will never go back to that particular store. read more

My experience tonight will not only stop me from returning to this location, but all Smashburgers entirely. It's understandable that new locations will have hiccups in their first months, and I've worked in the service industry enough to know to be patient with some of those mishaps. The (lack of) customer service however displayed tonight was not acceptable. After waiting an hour in a crowd of other angry customers, I finally went up to check on the status of my food. When they returned back with a bag that had been sitting under the heat lamp for who knows how long, I immediately questioned it. "It's probably been there for awhile" is what I was told, followed by them saying they'd get me some new food. I had been sitting only a few feet away and not once heard my name called. Why was my food just sitting there? How could I have known it was mine when there were people who had also been waiting an extreme amount of time for theirs? Fast forward another 20 min with no sense of urgency from the staff, they finally hand me my bag of fresh food which then happens to be missing parts of it. I waited another 10 minutes after that to get the wrong item to where I just dealt with it and left. The most disappointing aspect to this whole thing was that no one was apologetic at all and treated me as if it was my fault that I burdened them with my visit during dinner hours. Had i known this experience would have taken as long as it had, I absolutely wouldn't have waited and asked for a refund. To make matters worse, their "manager" for the night completely ignored all the frustrated customers and hid in the back corner so she didn't have to deal with them. I hope for their sake it was just an off-night, but you can be sure that I won't ever be returning to find out. read more

Went here yesterday after trying MOD pizza and the taco place near by, none of the workers in the restaurant were wearing masks or gloves. When we went into Smashburger all of the staff were wearing gloves and masks and had sanitation stations! Dine in was being offered but they still had tables blocked off for social distancing. It was over all very clean and the staff was taking all precautions very seriously! We got our food quickly and without any problems. Awful experience from start to finish! We were 1 of 3 groups in the restaurant when we ordered a small Togo order with 2 burgers and 3 sides. Waited 20 minutes for the order only to be handed a shopping bag full of cold food. We were given 4 burgers and 5 sides (assuming additional food was part of another customers order). When I mentioned the error to the staff they looked confused and wanted to start picking through all the food to determine which burgers were part of our actual order. There was a line out the door of people waiting to order and we had already waited 20 minutes to get the food, I was not waiting any more, nor did I want someone picking through food I was supposed to eat. However, when I showed the coupon for buy one, get one free that I had on my phone, I was told that it was not valid without bring printed. I wanted to leave, but my husband insisted we stay, so we ordered. The prices are pretty high, and as hubby ordered, I looked on my phone for another "acceptable" coupon, and found one. Sadly, the employee said it was too late, since our card had already been used to pay for our order. So, the food was good, especially the smash fries, but customer service was non existent, in this instance, any how. I don't plan to go back, so disappointed. read more
