I asked her to use a scissors and thinning shears instead of a razor and she had no problem doing that. The haircut looked just like the picture except that my hair was a little shorter to begin with than the lady in the picture. We'll get there with the next cut, I'm sure. The salon is decorated very nicely and they use and sell eco-friendly products. A big plus for me after having been through breast cancer treatments last year! I've already made another appointment with Tammi for next month!

I did have to wait a bit for my stylist, which seemed odd - running late by 9 am when the salon is almost empty? Odd. The wait wasn't too bad though, since it's a nice environment to be in. Otherwise, Annie was gracious and easy to work with. I'm not super thrilled with my cut, but I think that's due in large part to my own mis-instruction. (I asked for a trim and then realized after the fact that I wanted a cut.) So, it's definitely pricier than some other options in the area, but not as pricey as the same experience would be in a larger city. I would visit again since I'm not convinced that the low points of my experience would be repeated.

After reading reviews on many sites, I decided to go with Becca. The salon is about a one hour drive from my home but I do come to Eau Claire regularly for shopping anyway. I decided to take the plunge and scheduled an appointment. I am so glad that I did. Becca takes the time to do a good consultation before cutting. She is well trained in hair cutting as she trained at the Aveda Institute in Minneapolis. The scalp massage prior to shampooing is wonderful and you know you have a great cut when you can actually go home and style your hair on your own! The salon does not reek of hair chemicals as she uses natural hair care products. It is a small salon, and it is relaxing to be there because it is not full of other stylists and customers carrying on multiple conversations.
