I figured an Aveda salon graduate would know what they're doing. They didn't. Mistakes happen, and it's unfortunate. I guess I just thought they would back up their work and fix it a little So it was at least remotely symmetrical. I had made this appointment when I did, so I had my hair cut before I underwent surgery. Well, 3 weeks later my kid came over, and was appalled by what they had done to my hair, front and back. I called the salon, not for a refund, but in hopes that someone could spend 15 minutes or so with my hair and get it so it wasn't so horrible. In fairness,they guarantee their cuts for a week, but I wasn't aware of that and was still recovering from surgery, so couldn't make it there. I texted the salon. A manager said I waited too long, and I tried to and explain the surgery thing, and they stuck by their policy. The manager did text me saying I could book a bang trim for another $15. I don't want to end up with someone clueless again, so I guess I'll try again to let those 5 inches in front that are gone now to grow back. I'm 66 with hair to my mid back, but except in the front. I feel that good customer service would have been to apologize, and offer me a bang fix (I can ignore the shelf in the back). Very unprofessional behavior by the management. I won't be returning.

I got married last weekend (9-28-24) and I'm giving my review for hair so that other brides don't go through the same headache that I had to go through. I booked with M J and Company Hair Parlor a year in advanced for my wedding hair and for bridesmaids hair. I gave them a rather large deposit to lock in my date. We had planned to use their space for the morning of. Everything started out great and I thought I would not have to worry about this. 3 weeks before my wedding I did a hair trial with the owner and she told me to be honest with how I liked it, so I was- I didn't like it. It was a big bun (because I have long hair), and it had not looked like the picture I had shown her. She told me to fix the size of my bun I should cut half of my hair off. A good hairstylist should never tell someone to cut their hair, they should be able to work with what they have. The owner had said she will talk to me the following week and in the meantime she will try to learn some new techniques. After leaving the appointment, I was still not happy and I still had to pay $120 for it. I called the owner the next week, and sent her a new picture of what I wanted and asked her if she would do another trial for free since I didn't like the first one. She had said no because it's her time and her time is money. So I said okay we will just figure it out the day of. She said she was super confident that she could do it and I had nothing to worry about, so I took her word for it. An hour later her assistant called me and said that the owner was backing out and that they found a replacement for me. This is 3 weeks before my wedding!! I was super shocked that they just backed out. They didn't give me a definite reason why, But I think it's cause she knew she couldn't do the picture that I gave her (which was a twisted low bun). The owner should have called and told me herself but it seemed like she hid behind her assistant to give me the bad news. I called up the lady they had found and got it lined up. Thank goodness she was available for my wedding day. The owner had said we could still use her space the morning of. I had asked the assistant if I could get my deposit back and she said of course she will relay the information to the owner. A week goes by and I called the salon to talk to the owner and she was with a client so I reminded the assistant again if I could get my deposits and she said she would tell the owner again. One week before my wedding I still haven't received my deposit back so I called again and still couldn't speak to the owner. I told the lady on the phone that this was ridiculous that I should have received my deposit by now. She told me to text the owner directly and I did. I told the owner I shouldn't need to keep reminding you to get my money back, please send it to me tonight. She texted back and said not a problem and now she doesn't feel comfortable with me using her space for the day of (this is one week before my wedding). I sent her a sincere message saying I had this planned for a whole year and if she could change her mind. She read the message and never responded back. During my first hair trial the owner did nothing but complained about other brides and bash them saying they were a "particular bride". I wish I did more reviews before I booked with them. This is a very young salon, it seems like they don't care how they treat their clients, especially brides. I don't think they were good at doing hair. I've gotten my hair done by many other people before and I think that it was the worst updo I've ever had. They seem like very nice people on the phone and in person, but they will easily drop you without a care of how it affects you. A lot of stress and headache happened to me 3 weeks before my wedding. I thought everything was set in stone a year before my wedding and just like that it all changed. I got a new hairstylist, had to battle for my deposit back, and completely changed were all my bridesmaids and I were getting ready before the wedding. Again, I hope no one goes through this, because wedding planning is no joke!

Tried to set up a appointment on their website but it won't let me change my password, since I forgot it. I don't think that this is acceptable. They need a better way of making an appointment. At least have a business phone that someone monitors.
