Basically, I waited last minute (we drove from Tampa) but Vanessa was able to get me in. Even given my long hair, Vanessa did an AMAZING and fast job putting together two Dutch braids. My hair is the longest it's ever been and she has been the fastest at braiding it by far. It held up through three nights of sleep and 22 miles of racing, including log and sandbag carries where the braids would get caught under them, two muddy dunk walls and a swim. Was going to take them out before heading back to work but they still look great so I'm leaving them in an extra day! I highly recommend Vanessa if you're looking to get your hair braided quickly in a way that will last!!

I obliged. I got to the salon counter at 5:18 pm after being dropped off by my husband. I expected I would have to wait, which was fine, but I, an eight month pregnant woman, was not offered a seat to wait in. I instead was told to look around the store while I waited. I again obliged. At 5:30 pm, I walked back up to the counter and stood for five minutes before the hairdresser came to tell me that she would be another 15 minutes and asked if I would mind waiting. I cancelled my appointment. You would think this was a NYC top tier salon for as hard it is to get an appointment. This is Beckley, WV. The total disregard for a client's time was insulting. I will never consider this salon again.

Studio M is a full service salon and spa, though you should call for details. Megan is the owner and I believe they have been in business for almost a decade. It's very much the hub of the community as well, so if you ever wanted that Steel Magnolias experience, you can get it at Studio M. They have candy in a dish, so Shelby will never pass out! They carry great products, they accept all major cards using something like Square. They are wonderful about reminding you about appointments via text and email. They are definitely busy, so make sure and book ahead! .
