It's confusing. I went back to work recently. Thoroughly researched preschools in my area. Had a tour of what is NOW Precious Gems Academy. This abrupt change in name and management was the straw that broke the camel's back. I will refrain from reviewing the teaching staff because I believe they are doing the best they can under the management of two, incompetent and rude directors. On a side note, their brochures, bulletins, Facebook page and website are rife with misspellings and grammatical errors. They should be embarrassed. I was given the bait and switch.

We enrolled our daughter in the Nido classroom (infant) at Guidepost Kendall Park at the tender age…read moreof 4 months. As first time parents, we were extremely nervous to put our infant in daycare. We were new to the area and selected the school because it was within a 13 min drive to our home. We had no idea what to expect and just prayed that everything would work out. From day 1, we were struck by the remarkable level of care and attention provided by the teachers, known as "guides." These guides have shaped our daughter's early life with their boundless patience (with us), kindness, and genuine devotion to each child's unique development -- (Shout out to Ms. Vijaya, Ms. Michelle, Ms. Manisha, Ms. Fozia). Along with all the extensive training they go through, most of the guides are parents to young children themselves. They were able to help us navigate being first time parents and what to expect with our daughter's milestones, etc. During pickup, they would say, "Charlotte looks like she is ready to start walking in the next week or so" and like clockwork, she started walking. I would have never known the signs of readiness without the help of the knowledgeable guides.  The transparency and responsiveness of the administrators, Dr. Ali (Head of School) and Ms. Stephanie (Assistant Head of School) has been a constant source of reassurance for us. Dr. Ali and Ms. Stephanie know everyone's name (parents included) and the goingabouts in each classroom. We also regularly see them playing with the children because they genuinely care about the students.  As for the "montessori philosophy," I just thought it was another gimmick. But I was wrong! Our daughter's time at Guidepost Kendall Park has been marked by independence, curiosity, and a love for learning. Each day she comes home having learned a new skill (e.g., completing complex puzzles, drinking out of a tiny cup on her own, knowing how to put her toys away, doing the hand motions to "the itzy bitzy spider," etc.). I know she did not learn that stuff from us and I believe that not all daycares have the structure in place that enables children to learn these skills. To sum it up, Guidepost Kendall Park has given our daughter the best possible start in life, and for that, we're immensely grateful. Unfortunately, we are moving out of state and have to leave Guidepost Kendall Park at the end of the month. We will be transferring to another Guidepost school (which Dr. Ali and Ms. Stephanie helped facilitate). We can only hope the new school will be as great as the Kendall Park school.

Love this Center…read more The staff is wonderful. Mrs. D the infant room teacher is amazing. My son has been in her room since he was 4 months old and enjoys the room. She is very personable and honest and great with all the children in her room. Ms. N the director is amazing. She is involved in the development of every child in the center and is very hands on. It is worth every penny to send my child there. He is very sociable and is developing extremely well for a child his age. He is well adjusted and loves going to Tot Time. They take extremely good care of him, and meet his every need. If they are concerned about anything they will let my husband or myself know and they are not afraid to pick up the phone and bring up any concerns with my child right away. They are everything that I expected in a daycare provider and more.

She learned many different skills- academically, socially and emotionally. The teachers are wonderful to say the least, as they truly care about every child. Each teacher tends to every child individually, in an appropriate academic setting and in a manner that meets the child's emotional and social needs. My daughter grew and blossomed with every day she attended and every year that passed. I truly believe in my heart, that who she is today, stems from the years she attended this school. It is a warm and nurturing environment with the appropriate age required academic structure that parallels with an environment of warmth and kindness. An atmosphere, like the one at this Montessori School, is an intricate, impressionable and most important part of the young years of our child's youth. The time spent as young toddlers mean so much as to who they become growing into adolescents and young adults and Windsor Montessori does an excellent job at preparing our children for an amazing future. Ms. Yasmín has done an astounding job with this school, the curriculum, the teaching of self awareness; including patience and self intrigued academic skills and the necessity of learning how to play and be okay with ones self. I still and will always recommend this Montessori School to anyone I come across with a child in their pre-k years. I couldn't be happier with the decision of having my daughter attend this school. Her years there influenced, formed and created the wonderful, amazing, academically excelling child I have now (as a third grader). I keep going back and forth about writing this review, but as a former Kindercare parent I wish…read moresomeone had told me this before I made the decision to send my child there. Let me first start by saying that we were happy with most of the teachers there. Miss Faythe is incredible and I always knew my child was safe with her. That being said, the turn over in staff here is ridiculous, and there were weekly closures of classrooms because staff abruptly quit or did not show up. The biggest issue for me was the cleanliness of the facility. The kid bathrooms were disgusting and always smelled. My son would come home daily with black knees from crawling around on the carpet. The worst was the bug and rodent issue. The final straw for me was finding out from another parent about the roaches, mice, and bed bugs present in the facility. Never once was this location closed for cleaning or treatment of these pests. Parents were never notified about the possibility of bed bugs. It is so disheartening to hear that the health and safety of my child was put at risk due to the lack of concern over the space my child played and napped on.
