The teachers genuinely care about the children, and it shows in the relationships they build with them. Some of the teachers have been here for many years, which I think says a lot about the environment and the consistency they provide for the kids. Any time I've had a question or concern, it's always been addressed quickly. I've always felt like my children were in good hands. Choosing a daycare is one of the hardest decisions you'll make as a parent, and I'm so thankful we found this one. There was definitely some bumps in the road in the last year or so with the abrupt dismissal of the principal and a large turnover of staff, but those that have remained and have recently come on board have been fantastic. They have really impressed me with their dedication and involvement in my child's development, happiness, and well-being. My daughter is currently in their pre-K-A class and we have had such a great year so far. She's learning a lot, gaining more independence, and we can see how much she likes being there. Sometimes not wanting to leave because she's having too much fun. At the request of many, they finally updated and improved the outdoor playground last summer. Loving not having to pick mulch out of my child's clothes and hair anymore Haha. They offer lots of special events and programs for your child to engage in. Music, Martial arts, soccer, art, gym class, sensory play, teacher for a day, field trips to the elementary school, Valentine's Day Music Concert, and so much more. Shout out to some of my favorite teachers and staff that have become friends: Miss Tina, Miss Colleen, Miss Ally, Miss Sao, And Miss Jamie. The facility is large and well maintained. However, we had concerns regarding the state mandated ratios that were not being met. Whenever we addressed these ratios, we were told the head of school would call us and he did not. We ended up pulling our child due to even more concerning events that were hidden/covered up by leadership. I would strongly reconsider sending your child to Chesterbrook.

They even had Santa in a room so children could tell Santa what they wanted for Christmas. I am a retired teacher and have taught every grade in my career (preschool through 8th) and I see the learning that was evident here. The children are happy and enjoy coming to school. The playground and garden are very impressive. The garden has so many vegetables coming up and the kids help with the garden, which I think is wonderful! I went to the preschool graduation a few weeks ago and I was amazed it was on a Saturday so many parents could attend (and all the teachers came in on their day off). Chesterbrook Academy - Newtown Square has been the worst childcare experience of my 13 years as a mom. In our experience, the environment was cold, harsh, and deeply unsettling. When children are sad or crying, they are placed in a so-called "cuddle corner" and intentionally ignored--no one is allowed to speak to or comfort them until they stop crying. Teachers follow a strict "no response" approach, meaning kids who are screaming, throwing, or clearly distressed are simply ignored. The level of rudeness, judgment, and lack of warmth from staff has honestly left me bewildered. My child came home crying many days, saying the teachers yelled at them--and I personally witnessed teachers yelling at children right in front of me. Leaving your child in someone else's care is already incredibly hard. You expect compassion, patience, and basic emotional safety. That was not our experience here. I can't speak to other Chesterbrook locations, but Chesterbrook Academy in Newtown Square is one I would strongly urge parents to avoid. If sharing this helps even one child have a safer, more loving experience elsewhere, it's worth it
