My child has been going to this daycare since December of 2023 when she was roughly about 9 months…read more Back then, Ms. Marisol & Ms. Lorraine were GREAT! A short time after her first birthday I realized my child had developmental regression & sought out help through early intervention services who worked with her in daycare at this facility twice a week. She lacked in communication & also had some sensory issues which early intervention helped TREMENDOUSLY! Up until maybe a few months ago she started having some behavioral issues which her OT & ST were aware of & worked with the school tirelessly to come up with ways to help them HELP HER in the classroom but were blantantly ignored. Instead they chose to record my child which by the way is now only TWO, in instances where she may have been having a meltdown , not able to make her needs known or simply was having sensory issues that others couldn't understand & didn't try to. One of the ladies who works the front desk Christina referred me to another service which is like an IEP who can be present with my child everyday at school to help with her behaviors when her OT & ST aren't there. KEEP IN MIND, these services are not typically offered to 2 yrs old bc they normally work with kids 3 & up. They also would be able to give my child an officially autism diagnosis on eval. Well, yesterday 5/22/25 was my child's ST day & I read every note she writes when her sessions are done from 10am-11am. According to her my child had a great day! Spoke with her teachers about her behaviors throughout the week & was told she has been doing better with keeping her shoes on & instances of "scratching others." However, when I picked her up @ 4:30 I was told by Christina at the front desk that my child had two altercations with another child & "scratched them on the eye lid then scratched them on the side of the eye & in a nut shell tmrw is just going to have to be her last day." No prior meeting with me or even her ST/OT to discuss her behavior to say hey if it continues in a week or so I would need to start looking for other centers to send her to. Nothing in writing for me to sign her dismissal/termination. Just flat out she has to go. I've been getting the feeling they didn't want my child there & instead of doing it PROPERLY they did it EXTREMELY DISTASTEFUL & unprofessional. They also have high turnovers with staff & even have some employees who simply should NOT be working around small children! Ms. Chrissy was my child's main teacher this year & also the only teacher who seemed to understand my child's needs & also listened & learned her better by working with her ST & OT to implement their goals for my child in the classroom. I am also an LPN & work 7a-7p 3 days a week so I have to take my child to daycare by 6:30am those mornings. Usually Ms. Taryn & one other child is there that early but on a few occasions she was not & it was just Jon who is also married to Christina there watching that child. Again, my child can only say a few words & I NEVER felt comfortable leaving a little girl around a grown man unattended! I don't care if it's only for 5-10 mins while Ms. Taryn runs late or whatever the case may be it should NOT be allowed for everyone's safety! Marianne who also works the front desk is very rude & nasty! I hate to say it but it definitely feels as though race plays a big part in this daycare as there aren't many African American kids there. My experience in the beginning was great but over the last year has been terrible. I am a working mother of 2 & now have to seek alternative childcare because they literally just threw my child out with no warning. I am in the process of seeking legal action against them! Parents please don't let the "family owned & operated" slogan fool you. PLEASE be mindful when sending your little ones to these careless, money hungry people !!

They allow the students to explore; they encourage them to speak up & speak out; they take an interest in them inside and outside of school & they really foster a culture of diversity and understanding of differences. Prior to coming to Walden, my son attended K-1st grade at a school that just wasn't up to par academically & where we felt our son got lost in the shuffle. Here, everyone knows him by name, makes an effort to know us as parents and really digs deep to understand how they can best help each individual child. I especially love that the way they teach isn't just by lecture, sitting at a desk staring at a chalkboard, but through hands-on projects, exploration & using sensory and tactile items to accommodate different learning styles.

This school is not…read moreaccessible to everyone--if you're not wealthy or able to afford $18,000 for pre-K, it may not be worth your time or money. I was told directly by the enrollment office " Kathy" that the school "can't survive" by offering financial aid, which was very discouraging. After applying for financial aid, I never received a formal decision, even though I was told it had been mailed. Instead, I received a random refund amount with no explanation. Throughout the process, the enrollment officer frequently changed her statements and would not acknowledge the inconsistencies. To be clear: I believe the school itself is strong, and the teachers seem genuinely dedicated and hardworking. But the enrollment process, especially my experience with the enrollment officer, was disorganized and unprofessional. If you choose to apply, I strongly recommend documenting everything and keeping all communication in writing.

He loves it here. On the days he has off he is always asking to go to school. I am so happy and proud of him. He is drinking from a cup, social with other children in his class, and he is doing independent activities. He is learning his shapes, colors, circle time and he loves the arts and crafts too. I also have a five year old who is attending five times a week. He looks forward to going to school everyday. It is such a joy to see him progress each week and to see what else he has learned in school. He has learned how to identify and write the alphabet and their sounds, identifying numbers, counting objects, making patterns, identifying shapes and so much more. The teachers are amazing. The children get the attention they needed. . I was most impressed with was how the teachers interacted with the children. They have a special ability for communicating with the kids, promoting self confidence, socialization, and problem solving skills I highly recommend this school to any parent who is looking for a school for their child.

Many of the teachers have been there for decades (a family member went to BCSYC 20 years ago and had three of the same teachers our kids have today). The Spanish and music lessons have been a big hit, and our older child loved the swimming lessons last summer. It's an excellent program.

Additionally, we had stayed on their email list and had noted many very high tuition increases during the course of the year. This school seems more interested in making profits than in doing what is fair and ethical for the families. I would not recommend this daycare to anyone.

Our son started having some behavior issues at first we were told it was a phase. Even our family doctor thought it was a normal development phase. When the Daycare finally told us they felt his behavior wasn't a phase and needed professional help we started the process to get him an assessed and behavioral help from professionals. Literally the day we informed him that he had been approved for, and would be getting assistance they kicked him out because they felt he was a safety risk. however curiously during that phone conversation where we were telling them he was approved the admin stated that if the assistance was full wrap around coverage then it wasn't good enough (note wrap around is only for 2.5 hours a day and only given if the rarest of situations.) The professionals that had assessed him in their school was stunned when we informed them and literally put in writing she didn't believe he was a safety risk at all. We even tried talking to the teacher and she just told us she couldn't get involved. There was no meetings, no conversations, no warnings, there was no documentation to prove their claim. there was just a letter in his folder that day saying as of that Friday he was no longer allowed to attend. this was on a Wednesday He literally cried all night and then everyday for the next couple weeks when he couldn't go back and see his friends. We have struggled since then because he just wants to go back and doesn't want anything to do with his new daycare and it has made working on his issues even more difficult. Even now several months later we are still stunned and confused. And why we still don't know because the administrator of the site and the owner have refused to communicate with us in any fashion.
