Stephanie up in the front is amazing and I have nothing bad to say about her, but she went on maternity leave recently and as soon as she went on maternity leave, the owner Nihti started targeting my son. I spoke with Nihti in the office which is when she told me kids are a number on a clipboard there. She is completely and totally only in this business for the money. And it shows. Her BEST staff Miss Ashley recently left around the same time Stephanie went on maternity leave. Because of their lack of GOOD staff, they will kick your kids out of their school. They've been open for a year and Nihti told me she's had to let go of multiple families. Tell me you don't care about the kids without telling me you don't care about the kids. They've also don't care about their staff at all. Stay FAR FAR away from this place. They also don't teach the kids ANYTHING. The classrooms are zoo's.

They had a back to school picnic with activities, face painting, a bounce house and water ice truck which gave us the opportunity to meet other parents. My son also LOVES McKenzie, he actually sings her name on the way there in the morning. Also, I'm pretty neurotic, so I appreciate that the teachers send us multiple photos per day. By that time, luckily, we had already enrolled at The Goddard School, but thank God we weren't depending on the Malvern school, and thank God we had somewhere else to put our daughter. I had such a bad experience with them during the initial waitlist process that I'm sure we're better off not enrolling my daughter there anyway, since communication obviously isn't a priority for them. They currently have a sign up that says "Enroll now for Fall", which is laughable. More like "Enroll now and you might hear from us in 2 years, or maybe not at all, but we'll gladly take your money anyway." Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. The Malvern School location in Malvern had a child abuse lawsuit filed against them, so I don't trust the entire Malvern franchise or any of their locations now, period.

Not a safe or trustworthy place for your children…read more I am devastated that I did not write this review sooner in hopes it could have helped keep the two babies seriously injured there safe and out of this place. The teacher that is in jail for harming the babies was also my daughter's infant room teacher. Absolutely devastated for the babies and their families. Their lives will never be the same. And livid at the statement issued by the center. It is more of the same from them. My daughter was in the infant room at Oaks and early on we had concerns about the safety, unprofessional processes, and unwillingness of the Director as well as the previous or past owner to have open, honest, productive conversations about issues that came up. The Director literally said to me "Michelle, you just need to stop this and trust us". No, I will not just trust you or anyone with my infant. Our primary issues were: 1. Unsafe entrance in that anyone could walk through the doors by following others through with no checks or protocal for checking 2. No transparency when my daughter moved to the toddler room on who was changing her diapers even though this had been provided in the infant room and this became a battle with the director when it should have been an easy thing 3. Staff that was doing at least double duty as both carers and cleaners 4. A broken fence lock that was never fixed in the play area 5. My daughter always wanted to get the heck of there when I picked her up unlike the daycare that I moved her to where she sometimes doesn't want to leave for a good while after we get there 6. Some staff were very disheveled. I didn't want my daughter to think that was a normal way of being. After many attempts to be collaborative and open with the owners and the director, it was obvious that if a serious problem arose that these are not the people you'd want by your side to work through it. I left before anything serious happened. There is an incident I recall in the infant room where my daughter did have unexplained injuries while in the care of Catalina Baldwin while the other teacher was out on vacation. I thank god that it was not serious, but it could have been. The only explanation I ever got was that there was no incident at school and it probably happened at home or in her car seat. We were lucky.

He wakes up in the morning, picks out his own outfit for the day, brushes his own teeth, prepares his own breakfast (banana or pre-cut fruit from the fridge), asks questions about why the world works, can sit and play independently for hours, and will come to me and tell me, "Mommy, I need a hug." "I need some attention." "I need your help in ____, ___, ___" whenever his needs aren't met. Mixed-age classrooms were also incredibly helpful at this developmental age. Chesterbrook Academy - Newtown Square has been the worst childcare experience of my 13 years as a mom. In our experience, the environment was cold, harsh, and deeply unsettling. When children are sad or crying, they are placed in a so-called "cuddle corner" and intentionally ignored--no one is allowed to speak to or comfort them until they stop crying. Teachers follow a strict "no response" approach, meaning kids who are screaming, throwing, or clearly distressed are simply ignored. The level of rudeness, judgment, and lack of warmth from staff has honestly left me bewildered. My child came home crying many days, saying the teachers yelled at them--and I personally witnessed teachers yelling at children right in front of me. Leaving your child in someone else's care is already incredibly hard. You expect compassion, patience, and basic emotional safety. That was not our experience here. I can't speak to other Chesterbrook locations, but Chesterbrook Academy in Newtown Square is one I would strongly urge parents to avoid. He has learned so much and developed excellent manners and social skills from the teachers. They focus on learning, fun, and a structured environment for the kids. The teachers are patient and encouraging. He has progressed through the center and has had three different teachers to date. Each one was excellent. He had some speech development issues and the center was very accommodating and helped support his improvement. They also supported the speech therapists schedules by allowing him to receive private sessions at the center. This is a wonderful daycare center! The only reason we are leaving in the fall is because he starts preschool this year.

A short time after her first birthday I realized my child had developmental regression & sought out help through early intervention services who worked with her in daycare at this facility twice a week. She lacked in communication & also had some sensory issues which early intervention helped TREMENDOUSLY! Up until maybe a few months ago she started having some behavioral issues which her OT & ST were aware of & worked with the school tirelessly to come up with ways to help them HELP HER in the classroom but were blantantly ignored. Instead they chose to record my child which by the way is now only TWO, in instances where she may have been having a meltdown , not able to make her needs known or simply was having sensory issues that others couldn't understand & didn't try to. One of the ladies who works the front desk Christina referred me to another service which is like an IEP who can be present with my child everyday at school to help with her behaviors when her OT & ST aren't there. KEEP IN MIND, these services are not typically offered to 2 yrs old bc they normally work with kids 3 & up. They also would be able to give my child an officially autism diagnosis on eval. Well, yesterday 5/22/25 was my child's ST day & I read every note she writes when her sessions are done from 10am-11am. According to her my child had a great day! Spoke with her teachers about her behaviors throughout the week & was told she has been doing better with keeping her shoes on & instances of "scratching others." However, when I picked her up @ 4:30 I was told by Christina at the front desk that my child had two altercations with another child & "scratched them on the eye lid then scratched them on the side of the eye & in a nut shell tmrw is just going to have to be her last day." No prior meeting with me or even her ST/OT to discuss her behavior to say hey if it continues in a week or so I would need to start looking for other centers to send her to. Nothing in writing for me to sign her dismissal/termination. Just flat out she has to go. I've been getting the feeling they didn't want my child there & instead of doing it PROPERLY they did it EXTREMELY DISTASTEFUL & unprofessional. They also have high turnovers with staff & even have some employees who simply should NOT be working around small children! Ms. Chrissy was my child's main teacher this year & also the only teacher who seemed to understand my child's needs & also listened & learned her better by working with her ST & OT to implement their goals for my child in the classroom. I am also an LPN & work 7a-7p 3 days a week so I have to take my child to daycare by 6:30am those mornings. Usually Ms. Taryn & one other child is there that early but on a few occasions she was not & it was just Jon who is also married to Christina there watching that child. Again, my child can only say a few words & I NEVER felt comfortable leaving a little girl around a grown man unattended! I don't care if it's only for 5-10 mins while Ms. Taryn runs late or whatever the case may be it should NOT be allowed for everyone's safety! Marianne who also works the front desk is very rude & nasty! I hate to say it but it definitely feels as though race plays a big part in this daycare as there aren't many African American kids there. My experience in the beginning was great but over the last year has been terrible. I am a working mother of 2 & now have to seek alternative childcare because they literally just threw my child out with no warning. I am in the process of seeking legal action against them! Parents please don't let the "family owned & operated" slogan fool you. PLEASE be mindful when sending your little ones to these careless, money hungry people !!
