The owner, in particular, seems to prioritize money over the best interests of the kids. The lack of professionalism from the owner and the administrative staff is a real issue--many months they wouldn't even have basic things like calendars available, or their communications would be inconsistent. One time they sent out an email about having a "desert bar" ... and had it spelled that way multiple times, so it wasn't just a typo. Is that who you want responsible for educating your child? Aside from all that, our son was diagnosed with some speech and socialization delays during his time at this school and entered Early Intervention. Both of his EI teachers visited his school and told us for his personal needs and learning challenges, the environment at this school wasn't right. Once we found a new school that felt like a better fit, we wanted to move our son right away, but the owner refused to let us leave without requiring dues to cover the full 30 days written notice, despite the fact that the enrollment agreement allows them to waive fees and let a student go if it is in their best interests (and we had a verbal conversation about it over 30 days before we left). For comparison, the school he moved to would have let him attend a few weeks for free just to help us do what was best for him. I wasn't surprised at all to see some other reviews on Greatschools.com that similarly echoed our experience--teachers are mostly good, but the owner/admin staff is not. And with the high level of staff turnover at these type of schools, you are relying on the owner to continually hire good people and hold them to a high standard. I would not trust the owner of this school to actually do that, at all. Basically, I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone. If your kid is a follower and fits in to a crowd, they'd probably do fine here, but you can find better. If your kid is at all unique like mine, this school has been generally unsupportive and not helpful, especially compared to his new school where the teachers and administrative staff have really gone out of their way to figure out ways to help keep our son engaged and included (that he has really responded to).

We had our daughter at the Goddard School in Plymouth Meeting since 2019 and our experience there…read morerecently swung from overall satisfaction to abrupt discontent where we ended up looking forward to her last day there. A few months ago we couldn't imagine saying something like that, but we quickly changed our minds after an inexcusable and unexpected back and forth with the co-owners. First we will say, the teachers at Goddard have been great. Although we haven't been able to meet any of them for the past 2 years due to the pandemic, my daughter has had nothing but good things to say about her teachers and she has learned a lot from them. We've come to learn that this school may be a perfect fit for a family who will quietly fall in line and not question policies set in place by the co-owners. I think this is why we didn't see their apparent true colors for all these years, we didn't ever question anything. The issue started after the CDC dropped the mandatory masking recommendation for children. They required the kids wear their masks inside and outside (even in the dead of summer). We asked a few simple questions about when they plan to go mask-optional, and were immediately shut down with vague statements like "... we decided that we were going to continue to require masks through the end of the winter virus season" and that "we trust that you respect our right to make our own policies". This is when we started to see that policy making at Goddard can be made up with no actual facts communicated to back it up and with no known parent input whatsoever. Not only were our questions immediately shut down, we felt shamed as though we were the only parents with any questions, which we know is not true. Coincidentally, the same day we asked about the masking policy, the school's Instagram page was populated with "parent emails" thanking them for continuing to require masking. Our emails back and forth continued as we tried to seek any information about what criteria needed to be met in order for the children to be mask-optional, as every other daycare/school/county had already been made mask-optional. We were told by the co-owners that we were being "insulting", that we must have "covid fatigue", they were not going to be answering any of our questions and that "there are other schools that (we) might feel more comfortable" sending our daughter to. Can you imagine? After 3 years at the school, being told we should look elsewhere because we questioned a policy for the first time? Parents trying to get details regarding a policy that effects their child every single day and we are told we are insulting and that they are not going to answer our questions simply because they didn't actually have the answers? Aside from their inability to provide information regarding their policies, the shocking disrespect we received for questioning them is ultimately the reason we decided to unenroll our daughter early. We just felt it was important to relay our experience for those considering enrolling their children.

The teacher of the week would forget to give my daughter the full lunch I packed, or routinely misspelled her name on her worksheets, or forgot to take her to the bathroom while she was potty training. One teacher was arrested, and I saw and reported a teacher being verbally and physically abusive toward the children. The response from the admin was blasé. They insisted they would keep an eye on that class, and then reported that they didn't see any signs of abuse. They also lied to me on the phone while I was watching the events unfold live on camera. When I would bring up an issue with the admin team themselves, they would blame the teachers and then tell the teachers I was mad at them, forcing them to apologize. Absolutely toxic. The playground has one play structure with one slide. During the summer, they took away the gymnasium room from the younger kids, so they were stuck in their classroom all day. Why am I paying over 100$ a day for this?

This was my childs first time in daycare and I made that well known, even sent a little "about me" email to help staff get to know her upon arrival. My daughter did not adjust well and even though management/ownership was quick to respond and try and accomodate the problems I was having they still fell short because the resolutions would only last a day or so. I felt like I was dealing with a sales person and a lot of the time the resolutions included "this is what I found in my research on the internet" or "we just went over this in a training course". It felt very unprofessional to me. I felt like I was complaining about care all the time ontop of now having a miserable child everyday. I tried to give it time and see if she was still just trying to adjust to being in daycare but after four weeks it never got better and my intuition told me it was time to go. I witnessed staff leaving my child unattended to fend for herself during drop off as she cried no one came over to console her. Daily reports were often incomplete and later found out also inaccurate. The school offers a webcam service so you can check on your child during the day and on days they noted she had napped my poor kid was actually just sitting on her cot for 3 hours waiting for her daddy to come get her - even packed up her own bed as she waited. They didn't pull her aside for a quiet activity as discussed when I toured the facility. I had to repeatedly ask for access to the cameras - it was about 3 weeks before I contacted the company myself and signed up while I waited for the owner to approve access, I felt that to be a little odd. Covid precautions are not in place here - it is a complete free for all. No one wears masks including the owner. She wanders from classroom to classroom around the kids. She told me she has a breathing problem I didnt believe her because even her staff would take them on and off throughout the day - I saw this on the cameras. Parents were allowed to come in and out of the building - no masks - no temperature checks - nothing. I understand getting the kids to keep them on is a battle in itself but the adults should know better. Even after having a positive covid case in the building none of this improved. And everyone's opinions are different regarding the masks but for my situation I expected this precaution to be taken, just want to note it in my review if this is important to you like it was to me. During nap I saw staff laying across the floor on their cell phones. They all arrived to work as if they just rolled out of bed in sweatpants. Sweatpants that hung down low enough that their underwear hung out as they sprawled across the floor during nap time. The owner insisted this was when they were updating the childrens daily reports on the app for the parents but my app was never updated - activities for the day weren't even listed toward the end of my daughters stay there. My daughter was there for 4 weeks and had 3 different teachers - none of which came with any kind of educational background. I know that hiring is hard for everyone right now but I figured I'd mention this incase it's important to you, cause it was to me. I had hoped for more structure during the day and activities but during the four weeks we were enrolled, my kid came home with one project the majority of the day the kids were left to entertain themselves. This is what I witnessed when I finally gained camera access. Being as though my daughter was new to this type of scenario I had hoped staff/teachers/somebody would help get her involved in other kids play groups but this did not happen they let her just be by herself. I would try and follow up with the before care staff and everyday it was the same response "she's getting there". Which made me feel like my kid wasn't even being paid attention to, this was the same staff that left her crying by the door for me. Behavorial problems were a big red flag for me. My kid is sweet, funny and energetic and during her time at Kiddie Academy she grew more and more miserable. It's heartbraking that they didn't care enough to even get to know her. The staff here is not nuturing. Once a fantastic eater she stopped eating throughout the day. She's completely potty trained and would just stop going. It broke my heart everyday but I now know it was the facility and not just her adjusting to a daycare setting. She is enrolled in a new school and is thriving. And back to her normal happy self. I hope this helps, I tried to be as honest as possible and this may be the right place for some kids but it definitely wasn't the right place for mine.

She was knowledgeable, helpful, hands on and patient with my millions of questions. She even helped change my daughter (before we started there) and I could tell that she genuinely loved children. Fast forward to a few months later, and we are still so happy and lucky we found COA. The curriculum is very impressive. It engages the kids but also allows them to have fun. They get well balanced meals (that my daughter LOVES) and always have fun activities planned. I get to be a part of the day as the teachers send photos throughout the week of them eating, learning or playing. My daughter looks forward to daycare every morning and she loves all of her teachers, Ms Dawn, Ms Jill, Ms Ange and Ms Heather.
