I have been to this business 12 times in the past five years for window tint and clear bra installs. Every other time I was satisfied even though I thought they were a bit expensive. This time, I had clear bra applied to my new BMW. The front of it ended up with numerous small air bubbles and when I took it back to have it re-done the two working up front looked at it and said that it was due to existing chips. I disagreed, as I looked the car over and saw very few marks prior to taking it in for this. The response was "well look at it this way, it wont get any worse!" This was $400.00 not well spent. We've been taking our cars for years, and really no one does paint protection and window tinting better than Smartfilm. You buy a new car nowadays, and most cars will come tinted. Usually it's a scam tactic to charge you extra for accessories, but nowadays they do a decent job at blocking UV rays. But in Arizona, the real difference is in blocking the heat, and the cheap shit the dealerships use won't do that. They actually have a heat lamp test inside the shop, where you can feel the difference yourself. Stewart and the guys do quality work. With the clear bras, they cut exactly to the mold. If you cover a whole bumper, you can't even see the line where the film is! And they're extremely customer friendly, not afraid to tell you when to avoid a purchase. A coworker came for UV protection, and the guys told her what she has is already enough and she doesn't have to install new tint. When we discussed potentially covering the roof, they mentioned how low yield scratches up top were and wasn't worth the price. Without trying to scrounge for every commission possible, Smartfilm has a nice attitude compared to car dealers that nickel and dime you every chance they get. The shop itself is incredibly clean. If you get there early or don't want to leave, they even got a waiting room with water, coffee, TV, and WiFi. If you come early enough, you can see the workshop to the right where they bring your car in. That isolated environment free of dust is critical compared to adhoc guys you might call in a van to tint your car in your driveway. Their work is top notch and the guys working at the shop are clean cut and friendly. Some other shops can leave you feeling like you need a shower and sterilize your hands. Not the case here. In June, I was looking for a good window tinting place and came across this company. The reviews were amazing. So, I called to make an appointment and spoke to Brad. He was awesome and so personable. I felt comfortable with my decision. I took my Tesla in and had window tinting done. At that time, I noticed their PPF (and wasn't aware of films to protect cars), but I just had ceramic coating done elsewhere a few days prior. We were trying to get everything done with my car before a 5,000-mile road trip. I was told that ceramic coating would protect my car against scratches and chips. When I mentioned that to Brad, he said you may want to check that warranty. In the meantime, we sat in the lobby and waited for my car. Stewart (the owner) offered to loan us his personal car while we waited, which I was surprised by. We opted to grab something to eat in the same parking lot, though. It didn't take them long to tint my windows and I was happy with the results. After getting back from our road trip, my car was completely beat up by rocks, scratches, bug stains, etc. I was so disappointed in the ceramic coating and being led to believe it would protect my car. When my husband got his Tesla, I told him not to get the ceramic coating. He wanted to get his windows tinted and started looking into PPF. He called and spoke to Brad, who was personable once again. My husband was on the fence on doing a matte or gloss PPF. Brad suggested he come look at a car they were doing in matte. We drove up there and he was able to show us that car. He also showed us what it would look like on a black car. They gave us a full demo of the product and process! My husband was sold on the matte PPF. When my husband dropped off his car to get the matte PPF and window tinting, Stewart loaned him his personal car. He also gave him some homemade salsa and a couple of extra floor mats he had. It was super nice and cool of him to do!!! They were done with my husband's car the next day. I wanted a PPF also, but I was told by the guy who did my ceramic coating that PPF wouldn't stick. Brad and Stewart assured me that it would and they have a process for it. However, a PPF over the ceramic coating would null and void the warranty...the warranty that didn't cover my scratches and chips. Essentially, it was a very expensive car wash. I, too, was on the fence of getting a gloss or matte PPF. I was leaning on gloss, but then I saw my husband's matte finish and liked the look and that it didn't show dirt and fingerprints. I do love the gloss look too, but it's a lot more upkeep, especially on a black car. I asked Brad his thoughts. He suggested a gloss body with a matte hood. I looked at some pictures of cars with that and didn't like it. Then, thought it would be cool to reverse it (a matte body with a gloss hood). I also had them do the tinting on my roof to block some of the sun and heat. The only downfall was that I didn't get to borrow Stewart's car, get additional salsa or free floor mats. lol Kidding of course! They also replaced one of my window films from June, because there was a long straight scratch at the bottom (like a box cutter sliced the roll of film). They had no issue with replacing it. I was excited to get my car back after a day and a half, but I was nervous because I went outside the box with the gloss hood and matte body. It was beautiful though! I have no regrets! They did a great job! I got a ton of compliments on it and now others are considering this look for their Tesla's. Anyway, SmartFilm will be my go to for anything I need done in the future. Thanks for being so great to us and for giving us outstanding customer service, which I thought was long gone these days. Well...I stopped by here a while back hoping to have my chip repaired. I was advised due to the many wears and tears on my windshield, to have it fully replaced. Even add tinting. So, I agreed to the resolution and made reservations to inform my insurance provider. A wk later I was informed that my windshield was ready for install. Great, then it took another week to have an appointment available. I work, need an income and I requested they have their tech come to my job site and do the mobile installation there. Awesome. That only took...3 wks? Tops?! Day arrived and I made my schedule flexible for the techs to do their install. It only took them 10 mins to complete their assignment. I did a visual inspection and noticed chips and scruffs and adhesive and a huge f&#ing scratch where they worked. Needless to say I was pissed. I was able to not only let them know their rush work left alot of blemishes on my vehicle, but also notified smartfilm of their incompetence. A rep from smartfilm was able to contact Chad and he was able to do the best he could to at least hide their fu$# ups. Need I remind u, I had my windshield tinted? Yeah, dried bubble patches in every corner. Lesson learned. I should've had the techs at smartfilm do the install. Perhaps y'all can read my lil rant and understand my situation. Thanks a bunch! First off, these guys have Llumar film, which I love and have had on several vehicles over the years. Came in for a quote on tint and PPF, and appreciated them being upfront on pros and cons of doing the headlights, and having the most competitive price. I ultimately just went with tint and clear bra, and both turned out awesome. The tint is immaculate, and there's not the smallest speck of trapped dust or imperfection on any window.
