Jason made sure everyone knew the material inside and out. Really informative class.

As a licensed massage therapist, I do not recommend registering for any continuing education…read moreseminars here or visiting this establishment. Long story short, I signed up for a workshop with an instructor who I was very excited to work with. I had never heard of this venue before but figured it would be worth the drive to attend (I'm coming from NY). I arranged accommodations to stay nearby for 3 nights to attend this 2 day workshop. For context, the workshop was December 4 and 5. Unfortunately, my beloved dog of 15 years started having a medical emergency this week (December 1). The refund policy on the website for all seminars states no refunds unless you give 7 days notice, *unless it is an emergency. Of course I wanted to attend this course but needed to take care of my dog as I am his main caretaker and he is the love of my life. I called that same day, December 1, to inquire about receiving a refund for this course because my dog was not doing well. At this time I assumed he would still be with us but needing extra care for the week. The woman at the front desk (Linda Maglionico) said she would have someone call me back within the same day. Nobody ever called me back. Unexpectedly, the same day, I had to put my dog of 15 years down and had the most heartbreaking day of my life. The next morning (Dec 2) I called back and left a voicemail asking for someone to please call me back in regards to the refund. Nobody did. Then at 1:30pm, I called back to follow up and spoke with the same woman at the front desk. She checked the notes on file added by the director, Nicole Davis (who was supposed to call me back to let me know instead of adding an internal note to their system). The note said because it was not 7 days before the course there could be no refund. (However, in the confirmation email it only states that no refunds will be given if we fail to show up at commencement of the course). On top of everything else myself and my family are dealing with, this unnecessary stressor is incredibly upsetting. What was even more upsetting was that the note was sitting there, yet nobody called me back as promised, so I would not have even known the answer had I not called back 3 times. I was so upset about this and could barely handle this phone call without crying (I am normally incredibly strong and put together but this was an incredibly traumatic moment). My mom called back because she saw how upset I was and spoke with the same woman at the front desk. She tried to explain the extent to which my mental and physical health was unraveling due to this situation and explained that it was an extenuating circumstance. To which the woman replied that the reason isn't good enough to issue a refund, and that only if I was in a car accident could I potentially get a refund... In my opinion, this is an extenuating circumstance and I am extremely unwell, not at all in the space to learn or treat others. The nature of massage workshops as we know as practitioners are incredibly intimate and requires utmost presence. I would not want somebody in the midst of grief to work on me in a 16 hour seminar-- that person should be resting and healing at home with loved ones and support. Since my mom was getting nowhere with Linda, said she would have the director call my mom back, without taking down her number. (Yet again, no one ever called either one of us back). When my mom went to ask for her name (now we know- Linda) and the director's name (Nicole) the woman at the front desk hung up on her. I was truly looking forward to this course and especially looking forward to getting to work with this instructor. However the way things are being handled here is incredibly upsetting and unprofessional. As a massage therapist and professional in the healing arts, all I ask for is compassion and courtesy of communication- even if issuing a refund isn't doable. Even if it's 1/3 of the price back, or the ability to roll over the credit, etc. Dealing with these people was horrible honestly. Some additional context-- I am also commuting in from out of state for this course and would need to leave the next day to arrive. I was originally planning on pushing myself and going if I couldn't get my $369 back, however the rest of what took place with the staff turned me off from ever stepping foot in this institution. The director called me back on December 3 at 4:39pm (when I already told them I would've had to leave earlier Dec 3 to make it there on December 4...) and said she hopes I can make it tomorrow or that if I can't, she hopes I can sign up for another course next year. Lolll I would not return to any workshops here or recommend to any of my fellow practitioners in the tri-state area. P:S: they also mentioned they don't have water on-site. Maybe my money that can't be refunded can go towards a Britta filter for them.
