I have used SST for my last two homes. I cannot day enough but their entire crew from Sales to Installation. I have had two great experiences with my sales guys. The installation crews have been super, especially Jeremy. He goes WAY above beyond and has been available for simple questions on my part. Brett P is Sales has been super responsive and very helpful in getting my 2nd home set up. Roger who manages the Installation crew has also been involved at times and again he is super responsive and goes above and beyond in my opinion to ensure I have been taken care of. I am moving for the 3rd time and will definitely be using SST for all of my AV needs again in my new house. Highly recommend this company! read more

Don't waste your time! I was referred to this company...I called to gain more information about setting up an alarm they installed as well as other wires they installed. When calling, I reached a guy named Victor I believe who transferred me to their home automation department only to leave a voicemail that has not been returned for over a week. So, because my home builder, Olson Company "highly recommended" them, I called again. Guess what, I had to leave a voicemail (again) and still no response. And, these small businesses wonder why they lose to big names...at least you can reach someone at the big name businesses! To be fair, my review is not based on any service I received from them. They may be great...who knows, but I will not find that out because I have taken my business elsewhere!! Bam! read more

I agree with the other 1-star ratings. This company is not really focused on customer service. They are more focused on big cookie cutter home builder projects, and not tailored to the home owner. I used them because they did the wiring for a new home I bought with a highly un-recommendable home builder, Taylor Morrison. Now, the automated lights don't work; they use Centralite, which they charged me a lot for and is junk. They also use Elan systems for home automation, which also doesn't work. read more

Update: 9/19/18 After initial frustrations with getting my automation system up and running, since we got all the issues figured out customer service has been great. It definitely still took a long time before everything was running as it should. From install to figuring out all the issues took over a year I think. Not to say they weren't working on it I was in contact with a lot of different people from the company. It was a special case with a lot of unusual issues that couldn't be figured out. And there was a time where responses got few and far between. But since those early on struggles, most recently all of my customer service inquiries have been responded to promptly and they have been very helpful in resolving everything in a timely manner read more

They completed the low voltage work in our new home. Since our home was built by a well known home builder we could not chose the low voltage company unfortunately. Low voltage work is pretty low tech and fairly simple so the mistakes made are puzzling to us. If you are building a new home you will need to hire a tech person to verify their work. Some work was incomplete, inconsistent, broken or missing. One can tell it was not tested. The tech that did investigation/repairs on the SST low voltage installation was very pleasant so that is a plus. Also, we spoke to their sales rep through our builder and we had a very good experience. It may be they have good intentions BUT someone there is not supervising work done. It could be our builder didn't pay them fairly for the work done. Anyway, I suggest you do your research and diligence before hiring a low voltage company. read more

The customer service is rubbish！Their attitude really really bad and they didn't address any of my problems. Always direct your phone to another person and finally no one answer the phone. The video department only have people to answer the phone at 8 in the morning, and they said someone will call back to me, and no one call back anymore!!!!! Don't go with SST!!! read more

Bought a new home in 2016. Used the recommended Elan security system. Well, it's a three year contract and the app rarely works. My security camera goes blue and I'm paying for a camera that doesn't record so I'd have to check it at just the right time and people cannot talk to me through the outside speaker. I called the company initially in 2016 and the service provider was so rude. Treated me like an idiot for not understanding their system doesn't work as well as ADT or other providers that allow you to shut off the big alarm within a certain amount of time and the police will not be alerted. We bought a Pulte home, which was overpriced and cheaply built. (The carpet is already puckering and go figure, the installers are already out of business.) So, bad builder contracted with a subpar security company... read more

I would definitely NOT recommend this company. The systems are inferior to other security systems we've had. It is always breaking down and they come out and it's $100 for a service call. A month later and it doesn't work again. We live in a 5 year old community with all the homes having this system when it was built, and out of 50 homes, many are cancelling their service and moving to a much better system. We just moved to a new system bc what's the point of having a security system if the SST system is never 100%. Also, we paid our monthly service fee early- I would pay 2 months instead of 1. We cancelled our SST service with 3 weeks remaining and they refuse to give us our money back. Do yourself a favor and look for a better company with great customer service. read more

Bought a new condo a few months back and bought around $7,500 package. First of all the package is not worth but maybe 25% of that price. All it is 2 cameras, an intercom to talk to people through camera and basically their version of the NEST smart system. The app they have that goes along with this is horrible and doesn't work 30% of the time. Their internet routers had to be replaced and still they are horrible and don't connect a lot of the times. Bottom line, I emailed and called had them come out and they can't fix the constant slow internet that gets very annoying when using skype or doing anything else for business. I cannot keep power cycling the router and/or keep having them come out. If they PAY YOU to try their system, PAY THEM to leave. read more

I can see why they have only 2 1/2 stars we had cancelled our service in writing on a property we sold in 2015 through a bookkeeping oversight we have been being charged for the monthly service this entire time when we called to ask for a refund we were told to "PROVE IT" that we had sent a letter in 2014 to cancel and that a refund would not be granted. Even though the account showed no activity since 2014.The bookkeeping department was very nice but the customer service and management not all. Highly recommend Bay Alarm. read more

These guys are extortion artists. I recently needed my favorite channel line-up changed on my iPad for my smart home system since the cable company changed the HD channel numbers that correspond to my favorite networks. This should be something I can change on my own. When I called SST, they told me they can do it remotely and that this costs $75! This is something that takes the technician 5 min as I saw him do it the first time when he set up the entire system at my house. Why these guys charging this much for something so ridiculous is absurd and absolutely a rip off. Very very disappointed with them. They basically don't allow the client to have any power/control over their own home system. Basically if I decide to change my favorites in my channel line-up I have to pay these guys $75 every time! My wife and I built a new home in Maricopa AZ in 2016. We worked with SST through our builder and, in addition to the structured wiring provided by the builder, we had SST install a security system and speaker wiring in the master bedroom and on the patio. Eric, our low voltage consultant from their Tempe office, was extremely helpful and informative as was the technician who powered up and tested our system and showed us how to use the system (the email alert of any Unexpected Activity is awesome). Lastly, many thanks to SST's customer service department, especially Victor who was very proactive in helping us with our future monitoring needs. I never post bad feedback on anything but feel compelled to do so in this case. Maybe they install good systems, maybe they don't. What I do know is I moved into a new house five weeks ago. Every time I call the company for help in hooking up their wires I get transferred to other departments only to have to leave a voice mail - and for it not to be returned. This has been going on for over a month. They work with the Olson Company home manufacturer and are right now representing them badly. read more
