She brings home a folder of school work every Friday and is so excited to share it with us and we are always blown away by what she is learning. Meanwhile my son has been at the infant center for a year now and is also thriving. He is happy at drop off and comes home happy, clean and well fed. :) The tuition rates are also affordable, you're not going to find anywhere in Burbank for less.

The teachers and the owner immediately insured me that they would give my child Love and care, which was my primary concern in general. Since attending this school, my two-year-old has demonstrated more understanding, increased vocabulary, excellent manners, and patience. All of these things are taught daily there. I'm very thankful we found this school and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a safe and educational environment. Looks can be deceiving, and this is not the newest most glamorous school, but it is everything and more you could want in a school. Very hard-working teachers that teach excellent manners, patience, and love.

The teachers were so great about sending us updates in the first couple weeks during the difficult transition from family daycare to this one. Our son has been SO HAPPY ever since. He's made so many friends, loves telling us about his day, and the staff are so great about helping with potty training. Believe me, our son was a doozy for them, so TRUST that they'll work with you on it. The kids get a lot of outdoor time to break apart the time they spend indoors. Their playground is awesome, with so many different interesting areas for the kids to explore and play. I've realized its actually hard to find another place that allows so much outdoor time for the kids, and ours definitely loves having the space to run his "yaya's" out. The teachers are very in tune with the kids, and get to know them genuinely. The kids are loved here, and on top of the joy that they experience... the learning they gain even at young ages is amazing! My only heads up is that you won't receive a lot of updates on your kid throughout the day on the app, but honestly he was so happy every day at drop-off and pickup, we decided it was better the teachers were focused on the kids rather than the app and taking enough photos of the kids all day long.

She has been attending school here for two years and it has been a wonderful experience. It is obvious that Ms Kitt and the teachers really care about the children. The playground shaded and sandy. She has also learned so much in two years. She is can read and do simple math. It really is amazing.

Ms. Valentin & Ms. Claudine (4&5 yo class) teach the children so much academically. They've learned so much and makes us feel confident to send our 5 year old to Kindergarten this coming school year. Thank you so much for continuing to guide the children into their new journeys off to elementary school. Their programs during the regular school year & summer are both wonderful. Yes, the school may seem out of date and look older but it's not about materialistic items. It's about the love, patience and care each teacher has provided for every student. There is also a camera in the main classroom where you can check on your child anytime! My daughter started attending there since she was 2 yrs old. She had only been with me so obviously being cared by someone else was a great deal! From the very beginning I felt my daughter was safe & so happy! She never cried at drop off & she was always so excited to go there. She was practically potty trained there & caught on to the idea so quickly! Although you can bring your own snacks they also provide it at the school & is organic food. One of the best comforts for me as a mom when my child was so little was the small group she was in because I always felt she had the attention she needed. Granted some of the teachers were sweet and my older son did learn some great things. But the owner of this school is clearly losing her mind. Making rules up on the fly, making us sign bs paperwork acknowledging changes to policy and school holidays only to make up new holidays 2 weeks later. Most parents work and cannot just take days off with less then 7 working days notice. Many of the teachers barely spoke understandable english along with the owner. many of the teachers were extremely old. Much to old to be watching more then one child at a time. I had an experience in which one of the teachers could barely open a jar of food without my assistance because her arthritis was "acting up." Are these the people i want watching. However, my gripe is not so much with the teachers but the owner Nevrik. I beleive she was in it for the money not for the kids. So very sad. My kids are ultimately in her hands 8 hours per day and I could barely tolerate her. I quickly found out i wasn't the only parent feeling this. Eventually i started feeling sick dripping my kids off. I knew i had to make a change. slowly but surely my kids class mates were disappearing and one parent clued me in. These kids were all changing schools and i found out where. We called the new place, had a meeting, toured the school, let the kids try it out for a day and we signed quicker then ever. Do not go here. It really isn't worth it and you'll have no piece of mind.

Our child is a victim of DISCRIMINATION and RETALIATION by Media Center school director/owner…read moreNevrik Satamian. Our kids have been attending Media Center Montessori since 2006. We believe in the teachers and supported the school in many ways through fundraising, donations and referrals. Our child was recently KICKED OUT of school because we expressed health and safety concerns regarding mold and an unsafe/wobbly swing set. 1. MOLD PROBLEM: each time it rained not only would the roof leak, but also cause the school to flood both inside and out. Last November we finally decided to voice our concerns regarding mold after a heavy rain storm left a musty smell in the classroom. Our child was constantly dry coughing during this time. Ms. Nevrik was very defensive and insisted the school was free of mold. Despite her unwillingness she decided to move forward with the test. Mold was present everywhere! We were very grateful for her immediate attention to correct the findings. 2. UNSAFE SWING SET: the wooden swing set has been a concern of ours for quite some time. We've witnessed the entire set swing more than the kids! Ms. Nevrik resolved this issue by having it completely removed. Rather organizing a fundraiser in an effort to cover cost of replacement she posted a notice telling the parents to "pool your resources together and purchase a new one if you want it replaced". The swing set was the main attraction on the playground. We received a letter shortly after the swing set concern stating that Media Center will no longer accept our child due to "failure to pay several months of late fees and ignoring the school policy". It served as an official 15 day notice to find our child another school. WE'VE NEVER RECEIVED A LATE PAYMENT CHARGE. In fact, there's no termination clause in the school contract. It's evident that Ms. Nevrik is retaliating against our child since she was forced to spend money ON HER SCHOOL in order to correct these problems. Not only did she break the Parents Rights policy, but also showed her true colors. Money comes first for this school director regardless of a child's stability and years of loyalty. Without compassion or consideration she removed our child from the familiar environment, friends and loving teachers who meant so much. Without a doubt the teachers have been this school's saving grace. Please proceed with caution.

Before I give a glowing and deeply heartfelt review of the experience our family has had at…read moreMontessori House of Children with both of our boys, I want to share a broader thought, because context matters, especially when parents are making one of the most important decisions of their lives. I think it is fundamentally unfair when a school receives a one-star review based purely on a parent's expectation of what they think an accredited Montessori environment should be, particularly when that opinion comes from a misunderstanding, limited exposure, or without ever actually attending or engaging with the school. Montessori education is nuanced, intentional, and often misunderstood when viewed through a traditional lens. What troubles me most is how quickly some people run to leave damaging reviews without first asking questions, seeking clarity, or having a conversation with the school. Educators and administrators put their entire lives into the well-being of these children and the integrity of their program. Parents rely on real, lived experiences when deciding to place their children in someone else's care, and highly subjective or reactionary reviews do not serve that trust or decision-making process. I truly believe that if something feels off, the first step should be to pause, gather information, and talk with the school. If, after genuine effort and understanding, you still feel strongly, then by all means leave a review. But perspective matters. And if you take a moment to look at some of the most extreme one-star profiles, you will often notice a pattern. Volatility, absolutes, and very little middle ground. Life, and education, rarely works that way. Now onto what actually matters. Our older son graduated from Montessori House of Children and is now thriving in first grade. Our younger son is about to graduate this year. Over the years, we have watched both boys grow not just academically, but emotionally, socially, and independently. This school helped shape who they are as learners and as people. The teachers are patient, intentional, and deeply invested. The environment fosters confidence, curiosity, responsibility, and respect. These are core Montessori principles that are clearly lived, not just advertised. Our children felt safe, seen, challenged, and supported. We will always be grateful for the foundation Montessori House of Children gave our family. It is not just a school. It is a community that genuinely cares about children and their development. I recommend it without hesitation to parents seeking a thoughtful, authentic Montessori experience.

TLDR; Second child just graduated Montessori…read more Bittersweet is the vibe. We truly wish our time here would never end, but now it has, and for the second and final time. Both our children entered this happy place at the youngest possible age, 24months, bc we wanted them to enjoy the stimulation of a preschool setting, and we are so happy we did. It goes far beyond the lessons learned in the classrooms, and the social norms they picked up in the sandbox. This is a place entrusted with not only watching your most precious possessions, but nurturing them and guiding them in their most formative years. It almost feels inadequate to relate the gravity of this responsibility and the proven outcome in a few graphs on the internet, but here we are. A combined 6+ years total, spent at this place. The first week at Monty with our first born, we weren't sure what to expect. She was able to do dropoffs well, as she had experience w that in daycare. Ofc, there were more than a few days where those turned difficult, her tears streaming, legs kicking, voice straining with violent screams at the prospect of not hanging out with Dad all day as he worked from home. But nobody is better at that particular hostage negotiation than the staff at Montessori. What seemed a task akin to charming a hissing Cobra snake was handled like a scoop of ice cream. I still remember the first Friday pick UP where my daughter had a complete meltdown at being told she was coming home for the day, and no, she couldn't come back til Monday. From an infrastructure standpoint, it's hard to beat this facility. The powerful HVAC hums along in all seasons so everyone is in comfort. The lunches are prepared hot, consistently, and lovingly everyday, which is so convenient. And most of all, their vast shaded outdoor space, separated by age, is what really sets this place apart. Children are at their best when given room to run, and the playground and toys provided are second to none. I'll miss cleaning the sand out of their shoes every day. Ultimately tho, what really makes this place what it is, is the Staff. The longtime teachers here truly love their job and the children they teach. The small class sizes ensure these wee ones have a loving experience as they navigate the bright and sometimes stormy journey of early childhood. The teachers always know how to handle any of the challenging situations that arise, and have a never ending supply of love to share. They also potty trained both our kids in a short amount of time, filling the crucial daytime gap of our schedule. Another advantage they provide you with is the highly individualized education plan that is tailored toward the daily progress of your child. Age is just a number here. When our kids were showing progress w their numbers and letters, they advanced appropriately. Both had a full kindergarten education a year early as a result. And, not to brag, but I strongly believe this to be the main reason why our oldest (now a soon to be 3rd grader) threw a perfect game on her OLSAT. Some folks say start kinder a year late, I think a year early (for the right child ofc) is the move. When LAUSD started offering free transitional kindergarten, it was natural for us to consider taking them up on the offer. But we quickly decided against it, despite the cost savings and convenience of a single dropoff in the morning. We didn't want our 4 year old getting bullied in the bathrooms by 5th graders, nor being immersed in a classroom of 30 some odd kids either. At this tender age, the loving, hugging nature of Monty is something we could never quantify, and is by far a superior environment. Really, it's hard to overstate the profound feeling of gratitude we have for this School. Like, it's not simply a Thai food restaurant you frequent bc you can't think of what to make for dinner. It's a place where children will receive an upbringing that never misses, that they enjoy and truly delivers at every opportunity.
