I found out about Total Tech AV from Yelp, and got through to the owner on my first call. Jordan the owner was friendly yet very fair in his quote. He quoted a fair price and fortunately had technicians who could come the same day. They arrived on time and quickly got to work. Fortunately the new TV, a Samsung, was able to use the same mount as the LG it replaced. The technicians were personable and skilled. They connected the power and HDMI cables correctly and we had the new TV going quite quickly. Their charges were fully within the UCR (Usual, customary and reasonable) range. He will often "ghost" you or give you a "sob story" about his mother dying (she's still alive) or a family member in a crash. We have asked for a refund minus his time (not that he has spent any on our project) or something similar with no responses. He also has several judgements against him in Brunswick and New Hanover County - each in the thousands. He often blasts that he has limited opening or sudden unexpected leftover materials from a job and tries to get ppl to pounce quickly. Also, others have had to pay another company to repair his poor quality workmanship. He targets the elderly and women often preying on the fact that they have limited resources or support.

Run as far away from him as possible, and quickly. He'll cause you nothing but frustration, and steal your money.

After seeing his work I hired him for some outdoor projects at my personal residence as well. He and his team have accommodated smaller tasks too like assembling furniture for a short-term rental, programming door bells, digital locks, replacing high up light bulbs, air filters, etc. I also appreciate that they know their limitations and won't just say yes unless it is truly in their scope of knowledge. I've found pricing to be very fair, especially because he's able to handle several projects in a single visit. I usually wait until I have 3-5 items on my list before sending a HELP! text. We had the wall mount that we previously used for the TV, and Tate really tried hard to make it work. Unfortunately, Tate informed us that it was not attaching to the TV reliably. He suggested that we should replace the mount for safety reasons, which we agreed, and he ran right out to obtain a new one, completing the job.
