VASA ENDORSES HARASSMENT I canceled my membership at this…read moregym because I was harassed by an older man while working with my personal trainer. He became angry because I was using a machine "too long" during my workout (20 min for 4 sets on hip thrust, 2 other machines were available). This man followed me around the gym for the rest of my hour-long training session staring at me attempting to intimidate me. I reported this unacceptable behavior to gym management, and they endorsed his actions. My trainer was written up for allowing me to use the equipment "too long", and the individual who harassed me is still allowed to use the facilities. I no longer feel safe working out at Vasa, and I am outraged that no action was taken to address my concerns. This is not a safe place for women to work out.

The coaches are all amazing, they encourage you, push you, and check in on you. The classes are like a more fun version of CrossFit, with much friendlier people training by your side. Don't get me wrong, the classes are tough, but you can adjust to fit your needs, there is no judgement here. For me personally, I have a torn/bulging disc in my spine, and yes, it gave me problems for the first few weeks, but after about a month of going 3-4 times a week, my back pain has lessened and that's a miracle for me!

This review is more for my awesome physical trainer, Allan Bennett, than Elev8…read more I was introduced to Allan by a friend of mine who swore by him. He raved how good Allan was and how he's used him for over a year with amazing results. Dude used words like body transformation. I've only been going to Allan for a few months now, and I'm extremely pleased too. Every training session with him leaves me a little sore a day or two later in the best possible way. Add to that, I am getting stronger. Clothes are fitting better and my wife likes the "stud factor" in my fitness and muscle mass. Of course, I'm eating better food, less of it and not so late--all coached by Allan! The man is worth listening to and every penny. My wife, my friend, and I recommend Allan and give him SIX STARS!

It has a real sense of community! However, I will be looking for another gym due to the lack of cleanliness. The cardio and weight machines are filthy (see photos). I've never seen machines this dirty at any gym I've ever gone to. Too many germs!

But I knew I needed more. I wanted to lose additional fat, build lean muscle, and truly tone my body, but I didn't have the knowledge or structure to get there on my own. That's where Coach Josiah made all the difference. From the very beginning, he took the time to get to know me on a personal level before ever introducing his program. That stood out immediately. Our communication was consistent and meaningful, and that accountability was exactly what I needed. I was able to be open about injuries and limitations, and instead of letting those hold me back, he guided me through them with a plan that kept me progressing safely and effectively. Because of Josiah's coaching, I am now at the lowest weight I've been since I was a young teenager. More importantly, I feel stronger, more confident, and more informed about how to maintain and continue improving my fitness. If you're looking for someone who truly cares, communicates, and knows what they're doing, I can confidently say he is someone you can trust. I'm excited to keep building on this progress and am grateful to have had him guide me the way.

Unfortunately, the experience didn't match what I hoped for. After signing up, there was no orientation video, no instructions, and very little communication. When I arrived, the door was locked because a class was in session, so I waited outside in the cold. When the door finally opened, the receptionist didn't seem to understand that I was new and unsure of what to do. Only after a moment did she let the instructor know I was there. The instructor gave me a very quick one‑minute explanation, but if you don't already have solid reformer experience, you're basically left to guess. There was no tour, no explanation of where things are, and no place to store your bag--you just put your belongings next to the machine. I'm also not a fan of putting my bag on the floor (yes, I'm superstitious), so that was an immediate downside for me. The class itself was interesting, but without a real orientation, it was more frustrating than enjoyable. This studio seems geared toward people who are already very experienced, not beginners. There was also no sense of community; the whole experience felt very transactional. I paid $39 for a week pass, and honestly, I regret spending the money. That said, the fact that I didn't feel welcome or supported shouldn't stop someone with strong reformer experience from trying it. If you're already comfortable with this style of workout, you may have a very different experience than I did.
