I initially got it because curry chicken sandwiches always have a sweet element and most places do raisins or apples. Here, they did peach, and I was like, 'damn. I want to try this.' Plus, they prepare ready-to-eat food like rice, carne con chili, various dishes, hot tamales, and a variety of aguas frescas. You can find most of the products you'd find in Mexico in the aisles, making it a great store if you're looking to feel at home. They even have a seating area with tables if you'd like to eat there. Stopped by Vallarta Supermarket during my lunch break to pick up an asada burrito I ordered, and…read morehonestly the service was way too slow. Lunchtime is obviously one of their busiest times, so you would expect the food area to move much faster -- especially when most of the food already looks premade and ready to go. There was only one person helping customers while several other employees were standing behind the counter. Management really needs to improve efficiency and customer service during rush hours. People come here on limited lunch breaks expecting fast and convenient service, but unfortunately that wasn't the experience today. The food is good, but the long wait and lack of urgency made the visit frustrating.

I've been shopping at this grocery store for years because I was always willing to pay a little…read moremore for convenience, customer service, and a better overall experience. Unfortunately, that experience has completely changed. Every single time I come in now, the only thing open is self-checkout. If I wanted to scan and bag all my own groceries, I could go to Food 4 Less or ALDI and save money while doing it myself. The whole reason many of us shop here is because we expect better service. It's incredibly frustrating to spend premium grocery prices and still have to do the work ourselves. On top of that, bagging groceries properly actually matters -- especially when buying produce, eggs, meat, or fragile items. Employees who are trained to bag groceries make a difference, and it's disappointing that customer service seems to be disappearing completely. I understand stores are trying to cut costs, but eliminating staffed checkout lanes is hurting the customer experience. Long-time customers notice the difference, and it honestly makes me question why I should continue shopping here instead of going somewhere cheaper. I really hope management starts valuing customer service again and keeps actual checkout lanes open consistently.

I like going to sprouts because I really adore the bulk food section. I really like being able to get things not in plastic, and bringing my own containers to make sure I can do my best to continue trends of sustainability in this hyper consumerist age. However, I always seem to run into an issue when it comes to the bulk goods. It seems that not all of the cashiers have been thoroughly trained on it, which is not their fault, and is more of management issue. I had about two or three regular employees trying to figure out the "bring your own container" system, and I feel like I was really wasting their time. On top of that, I brought cash, but the drawers weren't set up with enough change. So it was even more of a stall for the people behind me. Overall, an absolutely completely embarrassing shopping trip, but I got out of there with my chocolate chips and the kindness of Elisa.

I normally don't leave negative reviews, but I feel like I need to warn others…read more I purchased a container of guacamole from here for a family carne asada. Unfortunately, the very first person to try it was my grandmother, and she immediately said it tasted expired. When I tried it myself, it had a fermented flavor with a bubbly texture, which was very concerning. The next day I returned to the store, and to their credit, they were kind and replaced it without any issues. However, when I opened the replacement container the following day, it also tasted expired. What concerns me the most is that neither container had an expiration date or any "best by" date. For a fresh, prepared food like guacamole, that's a serious food safety concern. There's no way for customers to know how long it has been sitting or whether it's still safe to eat. I appreciate that the employees replaced the product, but receiving a second spoiled container makes me worry that this may be a larger issue. I would strongly recommend avoiding the prepared guacamole and salsas until proper date labeling and quality control are in place. Food safety should always come first.

My review is mainly for the deli counter, as well as the main check out in front. They have one or two strong cashiers, otherwise always expect a long line. For the deli, you'd be lucky to be acknowledged within a decent time frame because they ignore the counter. Where to begin with deli counter. They don't have a real ticketing system. I placed a pick up order for the weekend for chicken and wedges the week before. My order got written on a torn piece of paper, begrudgingly. On my pick up date, I waited over 1.5 hours, they said another persons order receipt/ticket was lost and they were unprepared to fulfill all the other orders because hers was a large order. Not surprising since their ordering system is so unorganized. I should've got my order comped for the inconvenience, but the management was less than helpful. Not necessarily blaming the deli staff because they seem severely short handed every time I go in. It's a shame because my family and I love the chicken, but I have already told my family to stop ordering from there for parties. We can support elsewhere.
