I've been shopping at this grocery store for years because I was always willing to pay a little more for convenience, customer service, and a better overall experience. Unfortunately, that experience has completely changed. Every single time I come in now, the only thing open is self-checkout. If I wanted to scan and bag all my own groceries, I could go to Food 4 Less or ALDI and save money while doing it myself. The whole reason many of us shop here is because we expect better service. It's incredibly frustrating to spend premium grocery prices and still have to do the work ourselves. On top of that, bagging groceries properly actually matters -- especially when buying produce, eggs, meat, or fragile items. Employees who are trained to bag groceries make a difference, and it's disappointing that customer service seems to be disappearing completely. I understand stores are trying to cut costs, but eliminating staffed checkout lanes is hurting the customer experience. Long-time customers notice the difference, and it honestly makes me question why I should continue shopping here instead of going somewhere cheaper. I really hope management starts valuing customer service again and keeps actual checkout lanes open consistently. read more

This review is for Zenshi-Sushi place inside of Ralph's ONLY. The sushi that has been already prepared to buy isn't always the best. Tastes old & fishy. The rice that is used for nigiri is always hard and not sushi rice. The salmon is always nasty & has bones in it sometime. Not with it. FujiSan sushi is better. read more

ROACHES!!! This Ralph's used to be so clean and organized. Within the past couple of months I've noticed how everything has gone downhill and how dirty it is now. Roaches on avocados! This place is definitely unsanitary. The Deli here has the worst customer service! I thought I was the only one until I read all the reviews. On the meat department I saw a sign 9.99 bone in rib eye. I don't see anything on the shelf so i ask the guy in the meat department at first he said that it was on last week sale but i said its been 4 days the sign is still there so he scan and then he said let me check he came back and he said you can ask for a rain check i ask where can i get that he said in front there is a Manager. So i talk to the guy Francisco and asking me where in the ad i see it i said i did not see it jn the add i just saw the sign. Then the manager named Marisol saying we only give rain checks if it's in the ad and she was very very rude. Francisco who is the other manager don't even know what city os the store located at. This review is mainly to give a standing ovation to store associate Merlin. I've been shopping at this Ralph's for a while & nothing has ever really stood out from here until today. As I was about to check out at the self checkout today I witnessed something beautiful. An elderly woman had finished checking out & she was dizzy. Merlin checked on her & went out of her way to get her a chair for her. While another associate or supervisor was calling her to do stuff, she did what she had to do & went back to check on her. I was checking out & keeping an eye out too. I must say to see the care & attention that Merlin gave that woman today was sheer kindness & quick action. Merlin instructed the elderly woman to sit & wait until she felt better which she did. It was Merlin's quick thinking, & attention to detail that I had to post this review & say thank you for your act of helpfulness. In a world that is full of people lost in their own world. Many cease to remember that we are all inhabitants of this one Earth we all call home. Great job Merlin you alone are a 5/5. This is a good Ralphs store. I have been here a few times and have always had good experiences. I have a buddy that lives in this area, and everytime we have a party here, i come and pic up stuff at this location. I grabbed some chicken and potatoe salad at their deli the last time i was here. It was delicious and fresh. They make a fresh batch it seem like every hour. Nice people here, Roberta is one the best helping employees. Wish i could shop at this location all the time. read more

when i was almost done bagging my items i asked the worker that was in the checkout area if i can have 1 more bag. he said "sure". doesn't go to get me another bag but instead he goes and starts talking and laughing with his coworkers. then when i need that 1 more bag i ask again nicely and he goes "ya go and get it". the whole point of retail is costumer service which this guy clearly doesn't have. what would've been nice is he could've said "yes let me go get that for you". i worked retail and was not like this worker. he was some young guy i've never seen before read more

I went to two other workers looking for a log for my fireplace. I guess they were busy,both pointing to me where the logs were. Then I asked a worker named Rick. He not only walked with me to the aisle the logs were at, he went so far as to assist me putting the logs in my cart, being I have arthritis, and asked if I needed help putting them in my car, I told him my son could help me who was in the car waiting. Rick is such a fine example of leadership, going the extra mile being very professional and friendly. read more

The service at the deli here is HORRENDOUSLY terrible. I came to get lunch for a large group (actually I went to Stater Bros but their deli section was under construction and this was the next closest grocery store with a deli.) The menu had an option for a 16 piece chicken combo, and I thought "okay I'll get 32." So that's what I asked for. The lady behind the counter very curtly said "for an order that large you have to order in advance." Okay... Then why is it on your menu, listed separately from the catering information? I looked at the completely full warming tray behind the glass and asked her how many pieces were in the tray. She looks at me, hesitates for a second and then replied "umm, maybe 16." So I asked for 16. She then looks me up and down, scowls and says "I can only give you 8." What. In. The. World... The menu says 16, you tell me you have 16, I'm a customer paying the listed price like anyone else.. yet you won't sell to me?!??? read more

I bought 4 Ready to feed Nutramigen ready to feed formula at this particular location and all of the bottles where expired. I know why didn't I check prior to buying lucky I did check the date when I was pooping the formula intoy baby's bottle. When I returned it the customer service was horrible no sense of sensitivity what so ever. I went back to the aisle and there was still expired formula on the self . On the first of this month I went shopping for my whole family as well as myself. My partner was helping me out because it was definitely not a one-man-job. He had to leave right before checking out due to an emergency. I wanted to do self checkout to be unproblematic but that turned out to be more problematic.. so.. I went to the first cashier I saw open.. Her name was Isabella. She realized I had two carts and couldn't manage to get all the items on the belt on my own. She asked if I'd like help, I embarrassingly accepted, she came from around the register and efficiently got my products out of the cart within a minute or less!!! This young woman was moving faster than me!!!!! Aside from that, she also helped with bagging + placing my things back into my carts. If I didn't have her assistance, it would've been a long/painful/awkward process. She did above and beyond and I was SO touched by her kind gestures. I spoke to a manager by the name of Amanda to let her know that Isabella was the sweetest cashier I've ever met and turns out that she was just as much of a doll! They BOTH offered help minutes AFTER the transaction because they saw me waiting patiently for my ride but I respectfully declined. Never have I ever had such amazing customer service in a grocery store!!!!!! Mind you, it was my first official shopping experience at this Ralph's location! Every time I go they do not have live cashier check outs open. I'd prefer if they did but I can live with self checkout. The issue I have is when the self checkout doesn't work and required an attendant and I'm ignored for minutes until someone comes to press a button to then allow me to continue to check myself out. This happens often. This morning was most aggravating. Came in around 8am checked out 8:08ish. The checkout belt gives me an error and holds for an attendant. I am the only person checking out. Two workers at the front kiosk. One seems to be on break, eating a donut and her back is turned. The other one, middle age woman, mousy brown hair pulled into a ponytail, slightly plump, sees me. Sees the situation. I'm looking her direction. She quickly averts her gaze to make it appear she has not seen the flashing light of the kiosk. She does some other work, looks again at me and then looks at her co worker, who cannot see me (back turned), she puts her head down and continues ignoring me. After some minutes if me just standing there she finally asks the other girl to come "help on 5". The young lady does so very nicely. No issue with her. Never is. The mousy haired woman thigh does the all the time. I was the only customer there. I can understand if it was busy, it was not. I hope someone sees this and provides her some constructive feedback on best practices to assist customers and provide a better experience. read more

I enjoy the deli here, and the staff is ok, but often extremely slow. What really got me the other day was when I got there to order a sandwich, I was told that the wait would be 30 minutes, because 5 employees were in the back making platters for some corporation. So normally, they only ever have one person up front which slows things down...especially if there are people in line. However I was the only one. Do I not matter? Can they not pull one person away for 5 minutes so that I can grab food for my day? I spend a fortune here and was pretty frustrated. read more

Today at 11pm I seen a homeless man walk out with a full basket of groceries. The staff that work here are great I feel sorry for them . Because whoever owns this Ralph's in this nice neighborhood can't afford a security guard to make us the community feel secure says alot about the owner of this establishment. I don't feel safe coming to this Ralphs knowing that they will let people come in here ant take whatever they want and we the community have to pay for the higher prices. Something simple like a security guard could help us all feel safer coming here . This is a warning . Now that they all know anyone can take whatever they want and know nobody will stop them . A 1 star just to get some attention on this 1 matter: The person who made the decision to get this new, way too wide, shopping carts, should be fired. The aisles in this particular store are narrow. I started to shop at Ralph's Groceries Stores, because my office will give us Ralph's Gift certificates. I became a fan because of well socked and the staff is always courteous they have late hours, till 12 midnightt and It's near my house that said, I have been coming here for years. The deli, all prepared lunch meals their salads. Their produce department, the meat selection and other food or items I had need it's all there one stop-shopping. I have been in a hurry on Thanksgiving Day, I was in charged of getting the drinks I was able to because Ralphs was open and they saved the day. Check for their constant sales on sodas and prepared salads selection are great to keep in at home for times we don't eat out . Join their Rewards card and of course get additional discounts. This store is located minutes from my residence which makes it convenient. I noticed they were offering rib eye steaks on sale for $4.88 a lb. When I arrived I didn't like the selection and asked the butcher if he had additional cuts. Within a few minutes the butcher brought out gorgeous thick steaks - they ranged from just over a pound to a couple of lbs each. Horrible customer service, this is my go to grocery store after picking up my kids from school since it's on the way back home, but after today I rather drive to another Ralph's out of the way. I was checking out on self check out and I scanned a an item that rang up as part of a pack instead of a single item, gentleman comes up and I show him the price and the item. If he would have told me in a good manner hey sorry we can't sell this someone took it out of a pack I'd be content cool things happen. Instead he proceeded to laugh and comment not today guys with a smirk on his face and then looks at my son and tell him to try harder next time. Like wtf??? My issue isn't that I couldn't buy the item, it's his attitude comments that upset me. I've mentioned things to management there before and clearly they don't take anything serious. read more
