Went in today for some Diana's Tortillas and some meat to cook for tonight's dinner- store itself was a little empty yet clean. I was appalled when I grabbed a pack of the Diana's tortillas to find they had an expiration date of 10/08/2024- I checked all the packages at the bottom and they all expired 10/08/2024 the bigger packages had a closer expiration date but Nope! Not gonna chance it. When checking out I did manage to checkout with the manager and told him about the expired items- he blamed the vendor but said he'd remove them. Right as I walked in, I believe it was the manager I approached who was speaking with an employee. I walked right up and waited. They both ignored me talking to each other for a few more minutes. No acknowledgment or anything. Anyway, the manager said they received my order but it wasn't ready. I showed him the email sent to me stating it was. He scoffed and said "we'll work on it right now". I was shopping for a late Father's Day gift when I overheard in the next aisle the manager yelling to what it sounds like a minor employee. My experience at this Smart & Final has been an ok one regarding the items I buy. I'm giving a 3 though because they definitely do need to enforce the face mask issue. Last few times my man & I have come here we've noticed people not wearing their face masks! They should NOT be allowed to shop anywhere if they choose to be inconsiderate assholes. I'm like yes Karen, yes Donald masks are annoying, but in these times we live in we don't want to expose ourselves to any potentially harmful virus. I mean most of us will be ok if we get it, but we risk our elderly loved ones or sick loved ones & my man & I love his grandparents whom we happen to see often. We don't know how long they'll be around as it is, but we sure as fuck don't want them to go out by a virus. I can't blame Smart & Final for these rude, inconsiderate assholes, but I can blame you for not enforcing the required government mandated rules of having a face mask on. People can sue for that. Workers you can enforce the law by letting the non face mask wearers know at the door or at the line (preferably at the door upon arrival) that you won't check them out unless they have a mask or a doctors note making it ok to go mask-less. We come here once a week to buy supplies for our shop. The employees here are very nice and do their best to help.

I love coming to this store not only for their prices but also for their stock. Lately I'm surprised to find less produce and also low on our favorite bacon which is First Street brand. Maybe I came on a day when they haven't received their shipment but still I noticed they were low on quite a few of our favorite produce including the fresh wheat grass that they never seem to have anymore. Never the less they are doing a great job of still sanitizing as much as possible during the Covid season and I actually feel safe shopping at this market. Grand opening today. Free reusable grocery bags with purchase. Its very busy and parking is a pain! The store laid out is convienent with wide aisles. My favorite departments were the fresh produce, bulk goods including coffee and a great meat selection. The specials for the grand opening were good and run the entire week. The wait at check out is way to long. Not worth the wait. Every time I go into this store workers are standing around in a huddle talking. There's usually only one or two register's open. The workers on register are extremely slow even when the line is long. There are no baggers. No one pulling in carts and no one to help on the floor. The door dash people work harder and faster then Smart & Final workers. read more

I haven't experienced any bad customer service (crossing fingers - hopefully not) but I must say this one is convenient, we came, got a couple of rotisserie chickens, some chips, some produce, dips and were out the door in no time. Bring your bag for this one, I think it's unincorporated (I still don't get the rules, some do it, some don't, all same area? Go figure? Yes I know they'll eventually have to, but for now it's irritating not knowing which ones do and don't - whatever.... Haven't gone much, so I'll have to give more thorough review later. All I can say is that when I was walking towards the the establishment. The smell was divine !!!! I traveled a ways to get here but it was well worth it !! Definitely would recommend it to friends a family , I'll will be returning to try the pizza !! We barely shop here. It's rather rare that Smart & Final has deals or sales that are worthwhile. Usually their prices can't beat Sams Club, Target, or Walmart. This location has the worst parking lot I've ever had the displeasure of driving in. Not enough space plus too many cars equals a total headache. To top it off, they were sold out of the reason for our visit. Gr! Lines weren't terribly long and the staff was pleasant. But gosh I will not be returning to this location. My husband went in yesterday & saw mandatory mask were not being enforced AND! Nor was the the 6ft distance in the checkout line. He had a man right next to him, yes!, with no mask on. Today was frozen entrees, Roma tomatoes and the produce quality is poor to say the least and by the way, customer service doesn't exist! Wow watch what you purchase here and check the expiration dates. If a store has something that expires maybe a day ago or maybe up to a week ago, you can let it go. Let's face it, they probably don't pay their overworked employees, especially at this busy Smart and Final. But buying something that's been expired for over 3 months? This happened to me today. I found out while drinking one of my expired Honest Teas. I reached for my bottle and noticed the date. I had to spit it out with disgust. When we finally got to the the front of the line we asked the cashier why was this line was so slow. She didn't answer the question and she called for a supervisor. A young guy came over and asked us how he could help. We asked him if he was a supervisor. He said he was not. He smelled like he just smoked some weed so we mentioned that someone here smells like they were smoking weed. Of course he quickly left and the marijuana smell left with him.
