Thank you for keeping the store so well stocked & safe for your staff & customers during these crazy times.
    Lance L.

Nowadays, there are so many different ways to do the most basic household chore; Grocery Shopping. From doing the deed yourself, asking a friend or neighbor to grab you a few items while they are there for themselves, using instacart, doing curbside-pick, ordering online for home delivery or using one of the many direct to consumer subscription services, the options are endless. Who knows, maybe one day all groceries will be delivered by Amazon Drones. Although all of the options above other than actually going to the store yourself might be easier, less time consuming and less work on your part, they are not always the most efficient and often times can be more trouble than they are worth. I can personally attest that many times using instacart or curbside pick up, items have been forgotten, swapped out for brands I didn't want, receiving broken eggs and let's not forget about getting produce that looks like it was handpicked by someone wearing a blindfold. For the reasons above, I have decided that if you want the grocery shopping done right, you've gotta do it yourself! --------------------------------------------------- Now, let me tell you why I love Smart & Final. Sure, I too have one of the big box warehouse memberships and don't get me wrong, I love doing my shopping there too, but I don't always want to stand in the crazy checkout lines and be around tons of people on the busy weekends just to buy my items in bulk. At Smart & Final, you can get all your basic grocery needs (fresh produce, dairy, meats and regular grocery needs) as well as buying various items in bulk and guess what, you don't need a membership card to enter. With some of the freshest produce around compared to the surrounding local grocery chains, you won't have to worry about bringing home fruit that on its way out to the dumpster. This location is upholding the health and safety regulations due to the pandemic and is doing its part to keep its employees and customers safe. Thank you Smart & Final Extra Newbury Park! So why not pick the SMART way to shop "&" let it be the FINAL way you ever shop again!

The price sign says " Real saving without a card" what saving??? 59 cent for a lemon?

Staff are not nice at all. Even management doesn't care about customers! I don't recommend this place

My freezer looks like a CrossFit gym for carnivores. The short ribs? Slapped. The ribeyes? Melted like butter on a therapist's couch. But some of those other cuts? Let's just say I've had warmer hugs from TSA. Look, I get it "blast frozen." Cool marketing. Sounds like something Elon Musk would do to a cow. But if I thaw it for three hours and it still tastes like witness-protection chicken, we've got beef (literally). Still, you've got range, from boujee Wagyu to "I'm just tryna impress someone who thinks air-fryer steak is gourmet." Packaging's clean, store is solid and the website makes me feel like I'm building a meat-based investment portfolio.

The space is small but perfectly situated with an abundant amount of protein options galore. With such a variety of cuts that aren't often available in normal grocery stores of even butcher shops. Items like picanna and frenched pork rib roast, to elk and bison steaks there is something for everyone including seafood. There a small section of extra items like pastas, brads and veggies along with seasoning options. Pricing was fantastic and compared well. My freezer is well stocked now.

He brought home a wrapped piece of cornbread, a pound container of vegetable chili, and a tiny lemon bar slice. For $15. What?! He reported that service was good. And the presentation for the little lemon bar in a fancy bakery box was lovely. My sticker shock had me questioning take out as a concept. Their soups are priced at $7.99 a pound, which seems on the high side. The soup was tasty, if a bit spicier than I expected. I did enjoy the beans included with the vegetables for added body and flavor. For me, the cornbread was too dry and flaky to be fully enjoyable. That was the least favorite of the items for my eating experience. Crumbs were flying everywhere as I tried to eat it. The lemon bar was overly petite for $5, in my humble opinion. It was very tasty, and not too sweet. The texture was on the dense side. My preference is a little lighter & fluffier. Overall, I appreciated that DH was searching for softer items I could eat while going through my dental issues. The cost seemed high for a meal that I mostly enjoyed, but didn't send my tastebuds to a heavenly place.

They also had an amazing selection for their hot bar and soups. Their fresh poke bar also caught my eye, it is on the pricey side though. I was in such a rush while here I couldn't grab everything I wanted too, but I will definitely be back.

That was at about 1:56 PM. It dawned on me at about 9 PM what I would like to call a rookie mistake, except I am a senior citizen. In any event, a super helpful and professional staff person whose initials are Patrice, took her time getting down all the details. A day later I got a call from Thomas, I believe the store Director telling me that they indeed looked through their video footage and retrieved my $60 and would hold it for me. It took me a few days to get back in because I am not local to Westlake. I had a great fortune to meet Patrice for the first time. It was only when I came in to pick up the cash that I realized that she was the same person who had helped me on the phone. There is a lot of really bad news in the press these days. But I must say, my heart lifted way beyond the value of 60 bucks by the human kindness and graciousness that Patrice, Thomas and Vons in general bestowed on me. Who would've thought that my bonehead move would end up making me feel kissed and blessed by life. Thank you.
