If he didnt show me I would been going in circles. Then Latisha at the bread area assisted me to find Texas Toast that my husband been craving. Since she gotten at the freezer, bread was slightly frozen. I didn't mind since it was a hot day. By the time I get home, it would have been already defrosted. Since we notice at the end of both loaf four bread pieces was smash she informed the lady at register to give half off. That was so nice of her since it was the last two. I was on the hunt for cheap candy bars, like Hersheys chocolate and Kit Kat and Twix, for prizes in my classroom. A colleague suggested that I shop at Smart & Final. Yelp gave me two locations, one in Fontana and one in Highland. The Highland location was closer. To my surprise, this location had an impressive produce section. Too bad I was searching for candy. The candy section had exactly what I wanted. On the way to checkout, I found a few other items: a mop head, a 12-pack of Gatorade on sale, and a cheap bag of crunchy Cheetos. The location is just off the 210 freeway near the Base Line exit. There is ample parking in the lot. read more

I stopped by this Smart & Final location and was pleasantly surprised by the variety of vegan food available on the store shelves. Prior to entering the store, there was signage on the window stating that fully vaccinated customers can shop in the store without wearing a face mask while unvaccinated customers would need to wear a mask while shopping. As I browsed the aisles, I was happy to see vegan food items in both the refrigerated sections of the store as well as on their general store shelves. I appreciated that there is clear signage noting food for those with special diets through the "Good & Well" signs. I'm glad this store is in my town and plan to shop here for vegan food since it's much closer to me than Whole Foods or Trader Joe's. read more

She didn't say excuse me, she just said in a very rude way "yeah im gonna climb over the ice, are you gonna catch me" ...She looked like she was just clocking in or coming from break. Today is 06/16/24, We came in here for the advertised item which is the 805 beer. We did not see the 805 beer bottles, so we asked the service manager. She did not even turn around to respond, but she rudely responded that she didn't have it since she was so busy. Since we have always had bad customer services from the managers here, we hardly come to Smart&Final. My husband was asking her about where to find the scan on his phone's app. She just told my husband without looking at his phone that he either download the app or step aside for her next customer. There is something wrong with managers here so far. They do need a whole course of how to give a good customer services! read more

Brand new location in highland. Nice big parking lot very spacious. Super clean probably because it's brand spanking new. Nice set-up inside very easy to navigate. Produce is alright but some things are very pricy compared to regular grocery store. Super friendly staff/employee's r helpful. Always a pleasant experience at this local Smart & Final. The employees are always friendly (maybe because I am?), and if I need help, the employees are helpful. I rarely buy meet there, simply because most of the cuts are "thin sliced", which my family doesn't care for. There is a large selection of frozen foods, canned goods, dairy, cheese, etc. I have read some of the reviews about rude employees and I am happy to say that has never happened to me. Sitting in line for a long time of course the manager (Christiania) whoever she is pulls someone from behind me now I'm really hot . She continues to open other lines for her employees but still not pulling from the longest line which I'm in. They go to check it and when they see the lower price they don't apologize. Please check because like I said it's happened to me many times. Well after being chased down by an employee to wear a mask (illegal). I told them I have a medical condition. They had to ask a manager to see if I could shop (really) I already had my groceries. Manager comes I repeat that I have a health condition and that they are asking me to put on a medical device not knowing my medical history. That's discrimination. (That's impersonating a dr. Penal code 5220 if they want to get fined or jail) They said I need to ask my manger. I said I thought u were the manger. They said they were the floor manager. They ask the other manager and they said ok but next time have it delivered. I am polite but frustrated. We have free and equal access to all services and facilities with out discrimination! The communication between the staff who packs the order,Shipt, has always been amazing. I truly appreciate the hard work the team puts into packing the order, and reaching out to you thru text of what's available. Its Amazing!!!!! I opt to go here rather than other stores in our area because it's clean, friendly and cost savings is an extra plus. Today I was rather dissatisfied with an answer I got when I asked about an advertised item that was not in stock. Cashier said if it's empty we don't have any, but yet there were at least four employees with pallets and carts stocking the depleted store. I asked can you check to see if there is any in the back and if not can I get a rain check? She said no, we don't do rain checks because we don't know when the item will come in. My flyer DID NOT say "While Supplies Last" so why can't I return and with a rain check and purchase the item that was not readily available for me to purchase? Clean and a nice store! But the worker Veronica is rude! I asked her a simple yes or no question, since she was in the same aisle as I and she said I'm helping someone else. The next day I returned and she still had a snappy attitude when I asked for assistance near the alcoholic beverages. This has become my go-to grocery store since it opened in the neighborhood. Produce prices can be a little confusing, but if you look around you will definitely find a bin that suits you, since they typically have several varieties of a particular item. I've found great prices on dairy, including butter, meat (look for the half price stash at the end of the aisle), and frozen foods. The First Street brand is comparable to most name brands at a lower price. Most of the employees are very friendly and helpful, which means a lot. read more

I have been waiting for Smart and Final to Open because I've experienced great sale prices over the years at other locations. I have been in this location twice since they opened last month and most of their prices are higher than our local grocery stores. What is the point in buying in bulk when you can get the same items in lower quantity at the same or lower price? I shop here quite often BUT the produce at this store is horrifying!!! Every time I come here the tomato's are rotting and have mold on them. Same with the strawberries. The avocados are always mushy. The bananas are either all green or really bruised. The apples always look old and dingy. The cantaloupes are always rotted and caving in. The salad bags never fail to have lots of brown. The halo cuties are always old and mushy with mold all over. I also looked at the meat here and it definitely is not fresh meat. I was looking for some steak and all steaks were brownish and dry looking. Did not buy any because I did not want to get sick. The produce employees always have attitudes as well. One time I was trying to get through an aisle because the produce man had the cart directly in the middle but did not bother to move it so I had to go all the way around to get to an item. I was looking for a particular candy they sell that my local Redlands Smart Final was out of, so I called them in advance to see if they had the case of candy in stock. I asked the female sales clerk that answered the phone if she or someone there could go check the candy aisle to be sure they had the candy and then if they did, hold a case for me up at her register. She placed me on hold, and when she came back she told me that they did have it! And, that she would keep it up at the register for me while I drove there. I drove from Loma Linda to Highland, about 7-8 miles, went straight up to the register and waited awhile in line for my turn, and when I said I was there to pick up the candy being held for me at the register-she sent someone to the candy aisle! I immediately reminded her that she had said she was holding the candy for me already at the register, that I had driven an inconvenient drive just because I was ensured she had the case of candy in her possession, and the clerk was very casual, not apologetic, nothing. When the other clerk returned to the register empty-handed saying they didn't have the candy, I was irate! Still no apology!! She just stated, "Oh, well I know I've seen the candy here, we carry it." Well that wasn't my question or purpose through all this hassle! I already knew they sold the candy! I wanted to make sure they actually HAD THE CANDY IN THE STORE!! Well, then they get the person in charge at that time (not the actual store manager or even assistant manager) and he takes up another 15 minutes of my time looking over the same shelves I had already looked over thoroughly, plus got distracted and helped another customer and then came back to me just standing there waiting on him, and finally after wasting about a half hour of my time and a gallon of my gas, I left frustrated, angry, and EMPTY-HANDED!!! That will definitely deter me from future purchases at Smart and Final, this store specifically! These employees need to be better trained on customer service!! read more
