Very cute restaurant, great food and friendly staff!…read more This was our first time trying this restaurant. I had the tenderloin Manhattan w/ country green beans. So good! The tenderloin was very tender, seasoned well and the breading was done well. Gravy had great flavor. The green beans were seasoned with onion and bacon, had a slight sweetness. My husband had the salmon patties with mashed potatoes and potato soup! He loved the soup said it was very creamy and had great flavor! He said the Salmon patties were good as well. Our waitress Tiffany was very kind, answered my questions and gave an honest opinion when asked about menu items. Staff seemed to care about our experience and wanted to make sure we were being taken care of. They did a great job being helpful without hovering! All of us enjoyed our food! We will definitely be back.

I heard about this spot from friends so we decided to take our old car out for a run on a cooler August day. We sat on the patio which is about the size of the indoor dining room, about 8 4-top tables with overhead fans. We both ordered the Hoosier, a tenderloin sandwich fixed to order, fried or grilled. They are very generous in size and decently flavored. The Mac and cheese side was lackluster but the french fries are amazing and it's all served on china with cloth napkins, wow! Our waitress did a great job so, altogether, a nice lunch spot.

I wish they had some extra help cleaning tables and the bathroom. There were no clean tables, and we were choosing to dine in. The food was hot, fresh, and tasty, and the service was fast! It was such a positive experience that we went back four days later, hoping for the same. But this time, we made the mistake of going through the drive-through because the line didn't look too long. The service was extremely slow, and we only did a cursory check of our order. When we got back to the house, we found that the dressings had been left out for both of our salads! We didn't want to make the long trip back to get the dressing while the rest of the food got cold, so we went ahead and tried to eat them dry. Not a tasty experience at all--especially with lettuce that was already a bit wilted. I'm not sure I'll be able to convince the others to give them another try. But if we do, we'll order when we're almost there, go inside to pick up the food, and make sure every last item that's supposed to be in the order is included!

When I tried order off the menu to see if I could get a trout and steak combo, my server tried very hard to make this happen, but gave up. She could have asked a manager, but it was not important enough for me to pursue the matter. But, she was very sweet and was very helprul the rest of the time. Pittsburgh Rare steak preparation involves charring the exterior on a very hot flat-top and serving it rare. What I got was not this, as I could immediately tell by the fact that it had noticeable grill marks. They just cooked as usual for a rare order. With a NY Strip steak, you expect some connective tissue, but not this much. It was hidden also in the muscle of the steak. I had trouble hiding all the half chewed offal on my plate. Neither did it have a great beef flavor. This summary from the internet agrees with my idea of rice pilaf, "Pilaf is a rice dish where grains are toasted in oil or butter with aromatics like onion and garlic before being simmered in seasoned broth, resulting in fluffy, separate grains." What I was served was nothing like this as I got buttered rice that clumped together. No effort was employed in plating for appearance. I got a steak on a plate and a silver colored boat on which the rice was piled. The Cole slaw served as a salad was very good. The beer was cold and as expected.
