It was moist enough I guess but the fudge was very little and the buttercream frosting was overbearing. I had the wedding cake cupcake had 2 bites, and it tasted very little like almond flavoring; again the frosting was overbearing. Not super sweet but not rich and smooth. So glad I didn't pay full price! Was hoping I had found my go to place for birthday cupcakes. Oh well! Picked up cupcakes for a birthday, and I got a few gluten free ones and a brownie for me. They were cute, nicely packaged, and the service was excellent, but I was really unimpressed with the taste. Maybe it was just the gluten free options, but it kind of just reminded me of grocery store bland food. They were out of macarons when I ordered, which was another bummer. read more

This is the first time we've had cupcakes here, as we're trying to support small businesses during the quarantine. The actual cupcakes are wonderful....very moist and soft. They also had a generous portion of frosting, which I found to be very tasteless. We purchased several flavors, for example a lemon & peanut butter. The only hint of lemon in the whole cupcake was a tiny dollop of like lemon curd/gel on the top, otherwise, no other lemon taste. And, if you didn't know the cupcake was PB, you wouldn't be certain what it was, as there was almost no taste of peanut butter. So, we'd certainly try them again, but I hope they might add some extra flavor or to their products. read more

Lovely cupcakery in Keller. The cupcakes are moist and extremely creamy. We ordered a dozen cupcakes and all of the flavors we tried were delicious. You can tell everything was baked fresh that day to sustain that moistness. They also have mini cakes, regular size cakes, ice cream, and cookies which are all homemade! Have always enjoyed Smallcakes for their tasty cupcakes, especially that it's one of the few places I can get a Gluten free baked good that's not in the frozen food section of a store. I understood when they began limiting their GF cupcake days to Friday and Saturday. It's got to be a pain to try to offer something that limited, though we've found them sold out of GF cupcakes even on those days. I know you can order them, but when the sweet tooth hits, I don't always want to wait for an order. Like I said, though, I get it. However, to pay full price for a cupcake that isn't even frosted because they don't have GF frosting really soured my experience. Frosting shouldn't have to have gluten. There are great recipes with just butter and/or shortening, vanilla, and confectioners sugar. So, I walked out with basically a muffin. Disappointing. read more

I was super excited to find a local gourmet cupcake shop in Keller. They also serve cupcake infused ice cream here too! Every cupcake I've had has been super moist and sweet. They're pretty good size cupcakes too so I don't feel as bad spending $3-4 on a cupcake alone. Each cupcake is designed so deliciously it's hard to choose just one. The icing is amazing but on the very sweet side. So if you're huge on icing this place is great for you. The cakes itself are much more subtle to balance out the sweetness from the inch icing on top. My go to is the strawberry cupcake, but that's because I love strawberry cakes in general. Staff is always super nice and welcoming as well! read more

I must say these cupcakes are probably the best I've ever had (at least for my taste buds). This location is kind of hidden in a shopping center but overall a well hidden gem. Facility is super clean and establishment is a good size for big parties. Staff is on point, willing to help with suggestions or guidance. I love the cupcakes here but the least 4 times I have come they have been out of gluten free cupcakes. I called ahead and was told they had 5 left. Got there 20 minutes later and they are all sold out. I know that GF is limited to Friday and Saturday but when I live over a hour away it is disappointing to be told they have them when I'm in the area and to get here and not be able to get any. Appatently if you want the authentic deal you have to ask for it. Why? Because people complained it had too many. I think that's a terrible solution. I went here to get two boxes of four for $30! I got red velvet and wedding cake on both, lemon drop and chocolate n vanilla in one, cookies and cream and something seasonal(it was either caramel or peanut butter something) in the other. My two daughters tried 2 other more elaborate/fancy flavors, one the oreo creation and the other a fancy loaded chocolate one of sorts. They too said both were just ok.
