My wife bought a 2016 Ford edge from this dealership and has had nothing but problems with the vehicle. They had to replace the transmission and the engine. The engine had a cracked cylinder causing antifreeze to cause a misfire and fouling the spark plugs. When they replaced the engine they used the same old fouled spark plugs from the bad engine, still causing intermittent misfires. Now they expect her to pay to have the spark plugs replaced when they should have been replaced with the engine which was done under the warranty. In my opinion, Smail can't be trusted to do any car repairs in good faith that it's done properly. There have been many other issues as well, so my advice would be to go anywhere else other than Smail. read more

My husband purchased a 2016 F-150 Sport new in 2016. We almost did not buy it because they would not give us the $500 rebate on it because we were paying cash. After some wheeling and dealing and telling them we would go some place else, they conceded. A little over 6 years later and Smail Ford has shown their true colors more than once! The first was a pinion gear recall on the truck. We took it in for the recall repair. Went to the shop two weeks after we took it to them, (with a few phone calls in between) the truck was sitting outside with the repair not done. My husband took the mechanic outside to talk to him and find out why the repair was not done. After numerous excuses we left. It took almost 3 weeks to get our truck back! Plus they fried the battery! Jump to 2/6/23.....we took the truck in again for an oil pan leak, (which Ford knows is a common issue with the F-150's) three weeks and one day later, WE STILL HAVE NO TRUCK!!!! They are saying they can't get the oil pan, but last week it was to be there by Friday. No phone calls, no communication.....NOTHING from the service department! The truck only has 38,000 miles on it, plus we purchased a 10 year extended warranty. Never will we purchase from Smail Ford again! Their service department SUCKS!!! read more

I brought my 2020 F-150 in on Monday 4/26/21 to have the backup camera replaced under recall and the rear window replaced under warranty for damaged defroster lines. The service advisor Derrick stated that the work would only take one day, and that the vehicle would be ready by the end of the day. I called during the afternoon to get a status update since I hadn't heard anything from the dealership at this point, and they said again that it would be ready at the end of the day. I drove out to the dealership after work, to not only find that my truck was nowhere to be found, but that no one left in the service department even knew where my truck was! After waiting to call a manager (Tom) at home, they then informed me that my truck was off-site at another location for the rear window, and that it would be ready for pickup tomorrow. I informed them that they had told me that the truck would be ready today, and that I just wasted an hour driving out there to retrieve my truck that was not there, and that no one bothered to inform the staff where my truck was, and couldn't answer where my truck was when I arrived to retrieve it. Tom the manager called me the next day (Tuesday 4/27/21) to apologize about the lack of/poor communication, and asked what he could do to "make it right". I told him that we could discuss when I arrived to pick my truck up, and at the very least your staff should be able to properly communicate with the customer, and each other. When I arrived to pick my truck up, Tom couldn't even bother to be there; Derrick was gone as well. As you can see in the photos, the interior of my truck was absolutely trashed - every surface was covered in the rust-colored brake dust/shop dirt from a service technician(s) work clothes. It was all over the door panels (all 4), steering wheel, arm rest, upholstery front and back, foot prints on the back seat, back of the seats, and door panels. I had to have my vehicle detailed to have the damage fixed in the amount of $283. If the service department was doing their jobs, they would clearly see that the vehicle was not properly protected during service, and in no way was it ready for delivery to the customer. It is inconceivable that a service department would be run in such a careless manner from the top down. The manager can't be bothered to manage the service advisors to make sure they are in communication with the customers about the status of their vehicles, or be sure a vehicle is ready for delivery to the customer in a timely manner and acceptable condition. The manager also can't be bothered to be present to rectify the situation (the first one) as he stated he would. Tom has since called me twice during work hours, but will not return my call when I call him back. Clearly Smail Ford is not interested in providing quality service or building and maintaining customer relationships. Smail Ford has a plaque hanging in their waiting room that says something to the effect of "treat every customer as if they were a guest in your home" - they do not live up to this ideal. They did not respect me or my time, they did not treat my vehicle as if it were their own, and if this is how they treat a guest in their home, I wish they would have lost my invite. If you need service on your vehicle, I would suggest you look elsewhere. read more

Bought a Ford Fiesta off of my bf this year and we got a letter there was a software update affecting the transmission. Called the dealership he bought it from originally when we got the letter, but they didn't have the update yet to install. Last week I called again and made the appointment finally. It was about a week before they had any openings (I think due to the holidays, Christmas & NYE). I was there for a total of two hours. It would have been done in about 1hr but they told me my tires were warrentied & needed rotated which was covered so they would do it for free if I wanted so I let them. It was very nice of them to let me know about the tires and I spent $0 to get everything taken care of. They also told me if I needed new tires in the future they would beat any price by a dollar. My vehicles transmission went kaput and through the Warranty Co I had to take it to a Ford repair shop. I had it towed here, as it was the closet to my home so the tow wasn't that much over the "tow allowance" on the warranty. From start to finish, I knew exactly what was happening. Derrick was amazing and was the buffer between I and the warranty folks, I was grateful for that for sure! I was informed what this issue was, what the warranty co was planning on paying and what they wouldn't. I was informed about the time limit as well, for when my car would be completed. It was done 1 day early! I was unaware the BS warranty co didn't pay taxes. Well, when I heard my total was double what I thought I was to pay, poor Derrick. I felt so bad. Derrick immediately jumped in and said that he would look into this, and he did, and I was pleased that I wasn't going to be paying double!! Thank you all!! Everyone Tom and Elisha you all made it a great experience. And if God forbid I need work completed on my car, I will be back. read more

Found them to be quite dishonest, shady and unprofessional. Beware, you know how you get that uneasy feeling? Well follow it! Save yourself a lot of time and trouble... I found a great car at another dealer even though I paid a couple hundred more! It was truly worth it to go elsewhere and be treated like a person. I am sooo glad I didn't purchase here and after talking to others I am finding out they feel the same, the word is getting out and so it should be. Dealership is very unprofessional and employs immature salesmen and service guys. Service department acts and presents to customers that they know everything but they do not. Took my vehicle to get aligned and after multiple times taking it there for alignment, it is still not correct. They were unable to provide proper documentation to even verify they completed the job. The service department parking lot is very small and you can barely find a parking spot. Overall- worst dealership I have ever purchased a vehicle from. read more

As we looked for a new lease vehicle for my wife, John T. at Smail consistantly came back with the lowest prices. We had recently been purchasing our cars from Bob Popson at Shults Ford, and were really upset with him for seeming to not be giving us the best prices. We decided to take the trip from Glenshaw out to Greensburg to make the purchase. Not wanting to waste our time, especially since we had to bring a kid just getting used to crutches (broken ankle), I had even asked John to be clear and concise about what we were getting and he seemed to confirm it all. In the end, when we got there, the phrases like, "We'll get you in your car today," did NOT refer to the car about which we had inquired. Instead, we had to stand in the lobby for twenty-five minutes to then be pulled into a side room and given "options", none of which were the Ford Edge that we were told we were getting. John didn't even have the guts to tell us himself, instead leaving us with some other guy and disappearing. The numbers they pulled out at that point were MUCH higher than any others that they had told us, citing that our credit was the problem and telling us that we needed to pay more. We stormed out, taking another hour-long drive back home. In the end, we went back to Shults Ford, who had given us an honest price up front instead of trying to snooker us into something else, and they magically seemed to be able to get us the car that we wanted for the price that we wanted. It seems strange that Ford Motor Credit would tell one dealer one thing and another one something different, wouldn't you agree? If you are looking for a Ford Edge, it is a great buy, but don't go here. I would highly recommend Shults Ford and Bob Popson in particular, but we found Smail to not be honest at all and will never go back there. read more

Dropped off the wife's vehicle and the processed took 5 minutes. Waiting for the shuttle was the whole problem. Waited for over 40 minutes for it. Job they do to the vehicles seems ok. Replaced a tire because it was leaking and it was probably time for it, still leaks with the new tire they put on. Nobody says anything if my when is bent or what. Overall place sucks. Very pushy and impatient. Brand new vehicles that are somehow filthy and scratched up already. They drove my car to appraise it and left pen marks on my leather upholstery. Smail is absolutely the worst car dealership I've ever visited. read more

Service dept is very poor. Takes them 5 hrs to change oil and rotate tires?? The so called free inspection if you bought a vehicle is not .First free inspection I got gouged $40.00 for 3 light bulbs that were not even burned out. Second free inspection they said my wiper blades were bad(Never heard of this in the 30 yrs I have owned vehicles)It rained the day the service was done they worked fine when I got there!!! and it wouldn't pass !! That cost me $25.00 dollars.Also when they rotated the tires they did not put the center caps back on the wheels properly I had to replace 1 lost center that cost me a $100.00 I checked the other 3 centers were loose !!! you would think in the 5hrs it took them to rotate the tires they could have put the center caps back on properly??? Will never get my vehicle serviced there again a bunch of Rude service coordinators with poor attitudes that rip customers off the more the sale the more of a commission bonus they get !!!! Bunch of crooks!!! I will never buy another vehicle there!! read more

the ford escape has many features that i am happy with, but my major complaint is the gas mileage..i have the smaller engine and have not been able to get better than 20.4 mpg. either on the highway or city driving..my 500 h.p. corvette does just as well on gas mileage. i wish that my lease would have been a 2 yr. rather than 3. read more
