Purchased a vehicle and told the salesman I didn't want the Resistall package ($1125 snake oil that they just wipe on the truck). Go over the paperwork with the finance guy and never do they mention it. it doesn't show up on the line item. Go home and find out that they hid it in the price of the truck along with an almost $400 dollar charge where they etched numbers into the windows ruining the tint. Interior of the truck as filthy and outside had streaks all over it. Called day of and was told to come in Monday. Get passed back and forth from sales to finance with each other saying it was on the other. No one will return a call and when they say they will call they never do. Gave them plenty of chances to make this right. being charged for something they didn't even do!! read more

Megan Bowser, I was sold a defective 2020 Volvo S60 with multiple defects and issues from your Bowser Budget Lot less than 30 days ago. I did purchase an extended warranty that covers very little (disappointing). You sent me a message regarding my initial Yelp review about the used car. You stated into today's message that someone would be contacting me. Then you sent a reply stating that I must contact someone else. This is all very confusing. I have provided 3 possible ways to resolve the issues regarding the defective car that I was sold at the Bowser Budget Lot. Please have ownership or management contact me with a possible resolution that I suggested in a reply to you. If none of the options are acceptable than the Better Business Bureau, & PA State Attorney General can mediate this process. My hope is that won't be necessary. I called Bowser Chevrolet to schedule an appointment to have 4 new tires put on my Chevy Equinox. The woman I spoke with on the phone was very courteous as she helped me select the brand of tire to purchase. When I arrived on the day of my appointment, Kim was available to help me. Kim was very courteous and knowledgeable giving additional information on the brand of tires I had chosen. She directed me to the lounge where I waited for the service to be completed. I was pleasantly surprised that the process for changing the 4 tires was well under the estimated time. Kim completed the payment process. All my experiences with Bowser Chevrolet have been pleasant. This dealer chooses to add on additional items the customer MUST purchase with the vehicle. I found a pre owned GMC Acadia I was very much interested in. I contacted the dealer inquiring about this vehicle speaking to a salesman regarding the pricing. I saw in the pricing a charge for $299.00 stating it was "etching theft service" . The salesman advised me that is on every vehicle whereas they use acid to burn the vin number into the glass. I advised the salesman I did not want that however was told it is already on every car and it can not be subtracted from the price. It's bad enough that prices are so high on used vehicles but greedy dealers add more cost by forcing a customer to purchase something that cost a dealer $25.00 and they charge a customer $299.00 on top of the sales price. This practice is not needed according to my auto policy as the agent advised me if you finance a vehicle you must take full coverage auto insurance that covers theft. The agent also advised me if and when they do recover a stolen vehicle there is substantial damage causing the vehicle to be labeled a total loss. Etching the glass does noting to recover or pay for damage to your vehicle. My curiosity also got the better of me so I contacted a good friend who is also an attorney. He tells me practices such as this is also illegal therefore causing me to contact the PA Attorney Generals office and file a complaint. Chevy recalls several items, something involving steering and braking software updates... so I figure I should get it done. Called and made an appointment, came in and they had tech issues and couldn't do it, drove home wasting several hours. Rescheduled and arrived on time, told it would be 60 minutes. At 90 minutes I watch them take the truck into a bay so I asked how much longer. 60 minutes. Any recourse? They offered to stop working on it and I could reschedule. Big help Bowser Chevrolet of Monroeville. I'm sure you do great work, but I shouldn't have bothered asking you for an appointment, I should have gone elsewhere. Lesson learned. read more

Day Chevrolet's price, low mileage, and being from a reputable dealer, led me to drive over 3 hours for the car. I arranged most of the deal over the phone, and upon my arrival to the dealership met with my salesman who I'd been dealing with. He led me to the car which he had shined up in the sales bay. Let me tell you... The car did not disappoint, it was even badder in person! Nevertheless, I was ready to sign the documents and get back in the road. This is the part I docked one star. It took forever to finally get into the finance office. I was at the dealership for 2 hours on a deal that was already worked out. I was kind of perturbed on not only the sales manager pushing gap insurance, but after I said no, the finance guy then tried pushing it. Darn, no means no. There were two primary issues with the transaction for this vehicle: 1) Financing - When I first went into the financing office, I was told the interest rates for my loan were no lower than 4.1% for 72 months. I was looking at PNC Bank's web site for a dealer loan and they were showing the rate a 3.09% for 72 months. When I inquired, the financial person said he can go no lower than 3.49%. I called PNC Bank just 2 days ago and found that they offered 3.09% but that the dealership increased the rate themselves. I was rather aggravated at this revelation, so last night I just refinanced the auto loan at 3.09% for 72 months - the rate I *should* have received in the first place. 2) Scratches on the roof - I always wax my vehicles when I buy them. Upon doing so, I found swirl marks and scratches covering less than 20% of the roof area above the passenger door. I notified the salesperson of this asking if she can arrange for me to bring the vehicle in to get this resolved. The first communication was on Tuesday, December 6 which included pictures of the affected area. After various communication since then, I still have received no times and dates of availability for the body shop to fix this issue. I ended up taking it to Rohrich Chevrolet to fix it. It is pretty bad when a competitor of Day is fixing vehicles sold by Day. I came to Day Chevrolet - 25 miles away from where I live - because they had the vehicle that I was looking for. The vehicle is awesome. The 20% discount on the vehicle was even better. But both of these were furnished by Chevrolet. The initial sale was good - the salesperson knew a lot about Camaros and was very courteous. However, the rest of the process and the after-sale service has been far from the standard that I believe GM and Chevrolet should be expecting from their dealerships. read more

I stopped in this past week to look at a used corvette and ran the numbers with the vehicle I would be trading in. The weather was bad, so I made an appointment the following Saturday to take a test drive and make a final decision. Saturday I stopped in with my mechanic so he could look over the car as well. After waiting for the salesman to finish another deal at the time I scheduled, he came over and said that the vehicle I was there to see was "Not available" and then said that it was "broken down". Then the general sales manager came over and said that the keys were locked in it. I'm not sure which it was, or neither. Today I followed up to find that the vehicle was sold. If it was sold before my appointment I would understand, provided they called and told me that rather than still having me travel and wait around for 30 minutes - an hour for nothing. I came at 9am for inspection /emissions on Saturday the 4th. I was informed a problem in the shop had things backed up & it would be about 3 hours. Went to waiting area & thought for a few minutes. Went back to service check in & requested to reschedule. Kim reminded me I was already 4 days late. I agreed but had to be in North Hills by 1pm. She was able to have things rearranged & I was checking out by 10:30. This was unexpected & I was thrilled. My 9yr old loves the kid area & chalkboard & also the giant bunny. Dropped off my vehicle at 8 am for appointment to fix engine light staying on. I was out later in the day and stopped at 2:30 pm and it was not done they said they will call me. I went home and waited. At 6:00 I still hadn't heard from them so I called and no one answered so left message to call me. Since they close at 8 I called again at 7 pm and Joe informed me that it was not done that they never had a chance to look at it He blamed it on Charlie Wernke who said he should have called me when he left at 5 pm. I had an 11 am service appointment on a Thursday. I arrive at 10:43 and no one waits in me at all until 10:52. To stand there and not even be acknowledged by the roughly 7 service department representatives is disheartening. Then to see an advisor talking to another employee and further delaying my check in made me even more furious. My lease is up in March and I cannot wait to turn it in and walk away. Sure, I get 8 emails and a call about my service appointment, which is a bit excessive. Hopefully my car needs nothing else and I can run turn it in and get away from GM and Day. read more

I recently had my vehicle totaled and the dealership received the refund check from the gap insurance which the dealer is supposed to refund back the the credit agency they told me it would take up to 6 weeks which has now been over 2 months and the last time I spoke with the person over the gap insurance she was very rude and said I could keep talking about it but she couldn't help with it with I think is bad customer service. The refund is over 2,000 dollars and nobody can help me or give me an answer. I started to buy another vehicle from them after it was totaled but with this experience I took my business to someone else. I will not do business with them again read more

I'm positive I posted a review on here the last time I took my car to the shop but clearly it is not here. I'm not sure where my posts are going but this is very upsetting considering how horrible this shop is! I'm also positive I saw other negative reviews so where did they go? I can't believe this place only has one review, a positive one at that, from 2 years ago. Anyway... Both experiences I had with this shop have been absolutely horrible. I would NEVER EVER recommend this shop to my worst enemy! I've taken my car to this shop because it is where I bought the vehicle. The first time I went was for a windshield wiper motor replacement on my 2014 vehicle that went bad. Part was under warranty and should have only taken an hour to repair. They had my vehicle for 4 days. Really? Why? No idea. This time, I had a small accident due to the weather. I had it towed to this shop because it was the closest and being a Chevy dealer on a Chevy car, I figured this was the best option and hoped I would get a different mechanic. My vehicle needed a lot of work and it wasn't even the fact that it took this dealership 10 working days to fix the car but it was the absolute lack of communication with this dealership that drove me absolutely insane. I had it towed on Sunday, they were closed, no problem. I called on Monday to describe what happened and what I knew was wrong. They said they'd look at it that day but at the latest Tuesday and hounded me for my insurance to pay for it. Well I wanted an estimate and a description of the damage prior to them working on the car or me filing a claim. I couldn't get this from Day. I decided to simply just go with the insurance and file the claim. They contacted the dealership for me, who then said they wouldn't even look at it until Wednesday. So they flat out lied at that point to me. Wednesday came and went with no call from the dealership. They called on Thursday (the day the insurance adjuster was to go out) they indicated that they would call back once they were done with the adjuster. No phone call back. On Friday, I went down to find out what was happening with my car. They couldn't tell me and kept giving me excuses. Monday the following week, I finally get a call back from the dealership but they were "confused" because the car needed more parts and they didn't know what to do but that the next thing would only take 4-5 hours to fix. So I called the adjuster back up who indicated that they had told the dealership exactly what to do in that type of situation and how to get a hold of him. By Wednesday I still hadn't heard anything back about the repairs that the adjuster had already taken care of for me so I called back once again. After getting no where with the dealer I went to the adjuster hoping that he could help. Long and behold I had my vehicle back the following day. I don't know what is up with this dealership. I was told by the manager that they have 16 working mechanics. There is no way with that many mechanics they should ever take this long to fix a vehicle. They also should have more than enough people to answer the phones (something they NEVER do) and to answer questions when they are asked. Avoid this dealership at all costs. It will provide you with nothing but a headache and leave you without a car for an insane amount of time. read more

This was our first experience with Day and I loath car shopping. They had the exact vehicle we wanted and they made the experience relatively painless. Brad Jones was an excellent salesman. He didn't try to push us to another vehicle with more bells and whistles. He listened to what w wanted. After the sale he took time and reviewed everything, made sure we understood and connected to all the apps. Unfortunately, we probably wont be back to take advantage of the service benefits that Day provides, only because of the distance. But I know if I do run into a problem they will be there. Day Chevrolet is trying to rip me off. This dealership diagnosed my vehicle and said the water pump needs replaced. The vehicle manufacturer (General Motors) was covering the cost of this repair. This dealership recommended flushing my coolant and changing a hose that looked "weak". They charged me $533.20 to be exact on top of the manufacturer covered cost for the water pump. When I went to pick the vehicle, the check engine light was on at the dealership parking lot. I immediately notified the service manager since, the check engine light was not on when I took the vehicle in. They asked me to leave the vehicle for a couple more days, they charged me an extra $233.88 for changing the camshaft cover (engine cover) which they said was the cause of the check engine light problem. Only a day after pick it up, the check engine light came back on. Even though they told me to come back if the light comes back on, they could not fit me in for more than a week. They now want to charge me another $1,300 for catalytic converter, which they think might be causing the problem. The vehicle has many new problems after they worked on it. The service department is notorious for not answering phone calls. They need to treat customers better, be honest and do a quality job. read more

On September 12, 2015- I had a scheduled FREE maintenance/oil change under Chevy 2 year new vehicle plan for my 2014 Cruze. After 45 minutes later, the technician came to the waiting room to tell me about my car and recommended it was best to get my inspection done for which I accepted even though it wasn't due until December 2015. But she failed to inform me about the added emissions fee that would be charged. Not until after everything was completed, she told me about the $50 charge. I was totally thrown off! Had she indicated that small detail in the very beginning, I would have opted to visit another time when I had the funds to pay for my service. After much debate with her and the cashier, I was given a courtesy. But my issue is that employees should make every effort to inform their customers about any and all charges up front so that they have the opportunity to decline a service that they're not prepared to pay- this should not be done after the fact! read more

I purchased my malibu here and have had problems with it since. This last problem is a pull around the wheel of my car. I took it to the dealer before my 36,000 was up and they said they couldn't find a problem. I just went to get it inspected and was told by another shop its the tie rod ends but now that im over 36,000 of course im having problems getting it fixed with my warrenty. When in fact this problem accured before 36,000. I am only at 39,000 now there should be no reason i need tie rod ends in the first place. I really hope that the honor their commitment in being such a terrific company and fix my problem. read more

I can definitely say i will never go to Day Chevrolet for sales ever again. Nor would i ever recommend anyone to go unless they want their time ultimately wasted. I went to trade in my car and inquire about a used Chevy Malibu on the lot. First problem was it took over 30 minutes for us to get a salesperson to help us which is highly disappointing given the fact that a lot of them were talking to each other in their offices. Then the salesperson we received had no knowledge of the car. I believe if your a Chevy dealership the least you could do is know your cars. After that went to "work" on the numbers as they say. This is where the biggest issue started for some reason it took finance over 2 hours to get back to us with numbers from the bank. I have never been to a dealership where this process took so long. Our salesperson went to help other customers and no one could get back to us about whats going on or why its taking so long. Horrible communication and lack of knowledge ultimately led to us just leaving highly frustrated after wasting so much time for no reason. Wont be going back and will be spreading the word. Need to go over the basics your severely lacking. Terrible, terrible, terrible. I wish i could give no stars. Dont worry Cochran did their job just fine. read more
