I took my car in two weeks ago because I had both a Check Engine light on AND my Brake Light on. After scheduling an appointment, I found out that the third cylinder was misfiring when water got into it (which explained why when I would try and start my car after a heavy rain why my engine would stall out). They replaced a few "plugs and wires" (as stated on my receipt) and cleared the check engine like code.
I was also told that my front brakes were basically crumbling apart and that they needed replaced. On the receipt, the mechanic noted that they had replaced the front brakes but that the rear brakes were okay.
In total, including parts and labor, came out to approximately $377.00. Now, whether that's correct or not, I don't know. I'm not a mechanic and have never had this happen to my car. I was just happy that I had my car back and that it was running safely.
And then things went wrong.
This past Sunday, I was driving home and I felt my brake pedal release out from under my foot. I pressed further down and essentially had the pedal to the floor. I was sitting at a red light so I didn't notice anything more and figured I'd adjust my seat forward. After the light went green, I continued home. On the way home, I had to use the brakes again and realized I didn't have my rear brakes, which explained me having to press the brake pedal to the floor.
I drove my car back to the mechanics that night and walked home. I went back the next day to talk to the mechanics about this issue and brought the recent receipt. I was told that they wouldn't be able to look at my car until Tuesday. I explained I needed this looked at A.S.A.P. because I'm working in an internship and need the car for travel to and from the site. I was told they'd try to get it in but basically I was shrugged off.
Then today, after calling earlier in the day to verify that my car would be seen today, I get a phone call from the mechanic saying that my REAR brake lines were rusted out and that parts and labor would run between $300-350. Oh, and they wouldn't have a chance to work on this until Wednesday evening. I expressed that this should have been seen when I came in two weeks ago when my brake light was one. I said, "shouldn't this have been seen when you checked my brakes two weeks ago?" The response I got was, "well, there's a lot of rust underneath the car and I could total up $2,000-$3,000 worth of repairs you MIGHT need," like the brake lines have NOTHING to do with the brakes. I wasn't going to argue. I told them to go ahead and fix my car.

I'm not even going to touch on the fact that no one--NO ONE--at this place even knows what the term "customer service" means. Every time I've gone in there to drop off or pick up my car, I've always felt as though I was such a bother to whoever had to talk to me/assist me.
I've worked in customer service for almost 13 years and this is by far one of the worst places to go. They don't even deserve one star.
