I shall call this review #CarJealousy…read more Riding in through the large golf course, I can see the rolling hills and sand pits plotted out carefully for eager golfers, who I'm sure hang their heads outside their window like a panting dog as the make their way to the parking lot. A parking lot filled with every car I want. Mercedes SL (insert number) Acura (Insert model) Lexus IS blah blah And there was a bunch of Infinitis... which they can keep. I don't like Infinitis. I think the shape of them is odd and... ugly. Anyways, I was there for a fundraiser so I set up my table and began to do my thing... after my thing was done, I got a little of the County Club treatment as I sat down to lunch in the club room and dined on some of the club kwizine. That's the fancy french way to spell it right? A fresh salad lightly dressed with a balsamic vinaigrette. Full of ridiculously fresh lettuces. It was all the salad truly needed ( and had) cause the lettuce was so freakin' good. I could definitely detect some little gem and butter lettuce in the mix. There was a choice of hamburger or chicken. The chicken was in a light broth of old bay, bbq sauce, and something else which is escaping me. The chef behind the table cut the little knobby bone ( the bone that connects the breast with the wing) off of the breast after I picked it from the chafing dish... begging the question... why did they leave that on? But I think it oddly made some sort of weird difference. Well, whatever they did, the chicken was super tender and flavorful and the buns they had were crucially delicious. It was a spectacularly simple and delicious meal. I loved it. Everyone at the country club was extremely pleasant and attentive. Servers made sure that I had enough to drink and cleared my plate away quickly. The worst part of my experience was leaving the country club, as I know that I am very unlikely to back anytime soon. Maybe when my magnetic car invention gets off the ground.

Such a fun place!!! I was googling "golf in Winchester" and this spot didn't come up, but I'm so…read moreglad we found it after searching. My boyfriend used to come here as a kid and has a nostalgic connection. I wasn't sure if it would be too kid-ish for me, but once we got in the golf cart and on the golf course, I was amazed! We went on a Saturday midday and while it was busy, we never felt rushed. We spent a few hours golfing and exploring the pond on the course, where we found turtles and a frog! We brought some seltzers on the course with us, and there were a couple garbage around to throw away empties. We also did the driving range, which was good. The one downside was, we saw that they serve food so we didn't pack a lunch, but when we went to the food shack they were only selling bags of chips and ice cream. We would have stayed longer and tried the other offerings if they had been serving hot food as advertised -- and there's not many nearby options unless you're willing to drive a while and then come back.

My wife and I are FlingGolfers and we come here a lot to practice, prep for tournaments, or just to have some fun. I even got my first - and so far only - hole-in-one here! The driving range has plenty of room and includes a grass area at the end. The practice green good with some challenging slopes. And the course - mostly par-3s with a couple of long-ish par-4s - is a blast to play. The staff is great and the prices are hard to beat.

I came out after checking in, and went to load a cart. Starter was not at the podium (which had a tip jar?), but was on his phone and sitting next to the podium facing away from the carts. When I asked if I can load any cart, I hear him say "No", which is fine, but took a minute to finish his game and then get up to give me a key. He pointed at the cart I should use, and I went and loaded it myself (what's the tip jar for, if not going to be helpful). ~Cart had a cooler on it, but no ice in it ~We had about 20ish minutes before our tee time, so we were trying to rush to warm up, but the starter said "You guys have plenty of time" ~We started warming up and ~12 minutes in, the starter begins yelling our name to tell us to start our round ~Starter did not tell us pin position or anything, but found the info on a board ~The score cards do not have a good view of the greens/pin positions, so just winged it COURSE: ~Tee boxes were nice and flat ~There weren't many scenic or particularly nice holes, but overall it was well maintained ~Bathroom available after hole 4 and 8 (same bathroom/portapoddy) ~You loop back to the clubhouse at the run and the 15th tee is next to the clubhouse) Overall, it's an okay course, but for the price point, I'm not surprised that the course was not that busy on a Sunday during peak season.

Cart girl didn't come around nearly enough and when she did, she didn't have any water. Also there are NO water coolers on the WHOLE course. ZERO water. On a 90° day, they're asking for trouble. But it gets better / there was a wedding so the clubhouse was CLOSED. Unacceptable. They said no water since Covid. It's 2024, get it together. No ambulance for Covid, just an ambulance for heat exhaustion....come on, do better.

So tasty ~Reuben Sandwich (5/5): Was really good. Meat was tender, Sauerkraut was not too bitter/sour. I'm usually not a fan of reubens, but this has changed me ~Rock BBQ Burger (4/5): Tasty and big portion, but really messy to eat ~Onion Rings (3.5/5): tasted good but ate very greasy. Could only eat like 2 ~Fries (5/5): battered fries. Not too heavy on the coating and not too greasy, seasoned perfectly Overall, this is a great course to visit with great views and food.
