The facility is nice--a big pool, ample chair & bench seating for observing, 2 restrooms, spacious changing rooms, a play area with some simple items, vending machine, & a hair dryer for use. Music plays in the background. Communication was facilitated through email, phone, text, & in-person availability. We always found staff helpful. They also had a box for comments & praise for staff. Our kiddo did 2 sessions with 2 designated instructors. However, she ended up working with 3 other substitutes several times as well. You are given advance notice, & luckily our kiddo would go with the flow, but some kids might have a harder time if they need more trust & consistency. We generally found the instructors to be encouraging & positive. There's a fine line between pushing too hard or not enough, & they seemed to try to find that sweet spot. Little one would get pep talks when needed. She enjoyed the bit of free play at the end of the session as a reward for her efforts. We appreciated the post-class progress checks from the instructors. A ribbon system created positive incentive & moments of pride when earned. It's notable that other dynamics will impact your experience. It was really nice when we had a time that wasn't too busy compared to another time that was quite crowded. Though signs are in the play area regarding supervision & playing nicely with items, I still observed poor behavior & lack of supervision. Also, waiting for the dressing rooms was disorganized. Though a pseudo-line would form, some people opportunistically jumped in ahead. In hindsight, it would be helpful for staff to remind & emphasize some parent behavior expectations & create a system for lining up for the dressing rooms.

Just in case you are looking for a great ABA provider, this one is top notch!!…read more We have had several ABA providers over the past 9 years and with the exception of a handful of AMAZING behavioral therapists from the other facilities, Get Social! Is by far the best company we have worked with. The BCBAs, Social Leaders, program supervisors and therapists are exceptional! They have social groups, which is a plus! They actually follow through with what is being set up, discussed, needs to be done, etc. We feel heard during the parent meetings and valued. The therapists seem well versed and adjust the sessions to the kids needs each day. The BCBA is part of sessions, which we have never seen before unless highly needed or requested. The whole team seems to be educated for the needs of my kids, not a cookie cutter program.

She specializes in children with autistic spectrum disorders, but works with students with other issues as well. My son has been seeing Cindy for the past three months and his growth in that time has been tremendous. She is thorough, detailed and keeps data on everything to help you see your child's growth and to know when new goals are needed. My favorite part about working with Cindy is how she consults with me as a parent. She helps to teach me the ways to help my son so that I can implement it between sessions. Obviously, if I'm implementing things at home with my son it will stick better than if he only gets it once or twice a week. This is a major difference between her model and some other therapists. I highly recommend Cindy. She is knowledgeable, personable and dedicated to helping children grow to their potential.

First and foremost, the management was downright disrespectful and you can tell that the employees were being manipulated. During swim lessons I noticed that a staff member was watching my daughters swim teacher while she was teaching. This made mme extremely uncomfortable as the lesson was going well and everything seemed normal, until this I noticed that we were being intensely watched. The employee went as far as criticizing my daughters teacher in front the both of us, causing extreme discomfort. I left the lesson wondering if I should ever bring my daughter back, which I didn't. I would never recommend this place to anyone I know and I would beware of the staff.

While trying to successfully navigate my career, be a doting wife and mother who's caring/loving/nurturing, I completely lost myself. Although I had everything I wanted, I didn't feel whole -- I felt broken, angry, tired, frustrated, resentful and down right depressed. This is when I hit rock bottom and decided I needed help. It was then that I reached out to a friend who recommended me to Stephanie. I was skeptical at first as I had never worked with a life coach. During my initial consultation with Stephanie, I felt heard, understood, and more importantly I felt comfortable being my authentic self -- without any judgment. After the consultation, I felt a bit more at ease and for the first time, I felt hopeful. After meeting once a week over a few months, I am proud to say that I've learned how to happily live and thrive in my new life -- without giving up things that bring me joy. With Stephanie's help and insight I was able to understand and accept my current situation while gaining a clear vision of where I wanted to be. I highly recommend Stephanie to any new mom or struggling mom. I no longer feel lost, alone and depressed. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about The Root!…read more I moved back to Sacramento after living in the Bay Area for 10 years and was looking for an in-person prenatal yoga studio for my second pregnancy like I did with my first pregnancy. After calling many studios in the Sacramento area and finding nothing to support pregnant people, a great friend of mine recommended The Root. I truly enjoyed all the prenatal yoga clases during my pregnancy. When I first arrived, I was immediately welcomed. I felt safe and I felt like I fit in! I enjoyed how the instructors (I attended Gloria's and Kelly's class) always had modifications depending on how far along we were in our pregnancy to make it more comfortable, help us open up more, and prepare for birth. I loved Kelly's head massages and aroma therapy during savasana. After the birth of my child I started attending the pelvic floor class and baby and me yoga classes. This was something I had never done before. But after I found out I had a prolapsed and my physical therapist wasn't available until 4 months from my diagnosis, I decided it was important to go. I've been going to the clases for 3 month now and I truly feel like I have less leaking, more control, and knowledge on my pelvic floor. I love going to the baby and me yoga classes to connect with other moms and to bond with my child all while doing yoga to help me build my strength. I highly recommend The Roots for all pregnant and postpartum people! It's had such a positive impact for my physical and mental health during pregnancy and now in postpartum.
