The kids learn things that I honestly didn't know children that age would ever be able to comprehend. My 3 year old is writing her name, numbers, letters, etc. and has been for months now. She can count over 100, knows colors, the days of the week, months of the year - all in English and Spanish - can tell you the planets, all 50 states, and SO much more... I realize this sounds like a lot for a 3 year old, but Miss Carrie makes it fun and the kids are so proud of what they learn and eager for more! Outside play is an important part of their day, and they're even learning to plant a garden now. Miss Carrie has a real talent at explaining the world in just the right way for little minds to comprehend - it's such a joy to watch her with my girls. She teaches manners, kindness, compassion, boosts their self-confidence, comforts and cares for them as if they were her own. She takes time out of her weekends to support them at soccer. This daycare has been such a blessing for us as working parents - we never fear for their safety - and my girls have another adult that they trust just as much as me and their father. We later returned our child when Brook and Josh, the new owners, took over the school and have been more than satisfied with the level of attentiveness, personal relationship, and overall care our child has received. After the birth of our first child we placed her in the then named "Pumpkin Patch" and were horrified after a few short weeks with the number and severity of diaper rash incidents our infant was inflicted with. After a short stint with a private in home sitter we returned to the newly renovated and revamped "Murfreesboro Day School", and we have been more than pleased with the new owners. Josh and Brooke greet us every afternoon when we come to pick up our child. If our child is sick, they ask us when we return if there is anything they can do and inquire with an attitude of concern how our child is doing, and not simply out of fear of bringing a sickness into their business. I truly feel the Murfreesboro Day School and its owners have become more than just a place our child goes while my wife and I are at work. Our child looks forward to going to "skooool" every morning and is always saying bye and giving "squeezes" to Josh and Brooke when we leave. Our child has learned sign language and at 18 months it is a joy to communicate with her in ways we never imagined were possible. We found all of that (and more!) at Smyrna Christian School. SCS has helped our child learn how to play, work together, and establish great friendships. They have continuously provided materials/activities that interest our child (and challenge her!) They have encouraged our child's efforts (which has truly aided in adding to her confidence.) They set clear limits for behavior (which is appreciated!) I love always receiving our child's drawings, writings, and crafts at the end of every week. They encourage parental involvement (which goes back to the whole "community feel") and welcome parental participation with class parties. How beautiful is that?! I truly cannot say enough GOOD about this establishment. Before we found SCS, our only-child went to a "glorified daycare" preschool and for so long, we didn't know how much it was hindering our child. It wasn't until we moved and enrolled at SCS that we saw our child turn a complete 180 in every aspect of her life that we realized what EXCELLING truly meant. I am forever grateful for SCS (and my only complaint would be that I can't keep our child here for kindergarten, too!)

Every morning we are greeted with a smile and a "Good Morning" from Miss Jodi in the office, and all along the hallways my kiddo happily says hello to all the teachers. They're all very friendly and engage your child in conversation which makes them feel seen and heard, and important. She just loves talking with them on the way to her classroom. Her teacher is Miss Vickie, and she just adores her. She is kind and attentive, and a wonderful human being. My daughter has learned SO much this year, and she loves doing it! They learn Spanish, colors, numbers, writing, and she even comes home telling me about the fun centers they have in class, and how silly George Washington's wig is! I love how happy she is there, and how much she's grown in her independence and knowledge. I'm convinced that a better school does not exist. Truly, it has been the biggest blessing for our child. I wish they taught kindergarten so we could stay!!
