We're talking six seats and one standing spot -- and I swear that standing spot has its own vibe (it's giving: "main character energy"). You're elbow-to-elbow with strangers in seconds -- but by the second round, you're basically family. Or exes. It's hard to tell in Cabo. It's like someone shrunk a dive bar, dipped it in margarita salt, gave it an American passport and a Mexican soul, and let it loose near the beach. The bartenders? ICONS. It was our Wednesday bar hop night in Cabo. On our walk towards the main drag, Slim's Elbow Room caught my eye. Although it was my first time to set foot, literally, in this hole-in-the-wall bar, it wasn't my partner's first time. The traveling group immediately sat down on the few bar stools available and ordered their shots of tequila. Sticking to the plan, we hung around for a short while. We almost got comfy and wanted to stay a little longer 45 minutes. It was such a unique looking and interesting bar that I could not stop being so fixated on all the dollar bills that were posted all over the bar's walls. I had read about this place in my very thick travel guide but hadn't planned on visiting. While wandering around Cabo, we happened to find it. They were having a 2 for 1 special, so we stopped for a drink. $8 for two shots of some smooth anejo tequila! MUY BUENO!!! As for the "bar" itself, it definitely lives up to its reputation, real or not, about being the smallest bar in the world. There were 3 guests inside, so we stood at the counter outside. It was fun, anyway. Our server was very nice and quick with a generous pour. It is everything you would expect from a tourist stop in a party town. We would definitely go back to help get the party started. If they served food there, which I can neither confirm nor deny because, well, I don't want a street taco in my tequila bottle. Bartenders are warm and engaging and committed to making sure you have a wonderful time, whether you're stopping in for a quick almost freezing cold beer or you wanna pull up a chair and stay a while! I've now been here on each trip to Cabo. Carmella was bartending when my boyfriend and I stopped by for a tequila shot, and to throw up a $2 bill on the wall. She was friendly and even brought me over a couple pizza bite things after my shot of tequila. We met another traveler in the one spot next to us, (the only other seat in this tiny place), and talked to him for a while about other great spots to make sure we saw while wandering around. Awe.. it's so small at Slim's it's easily missed as you walk by, unless you are looking for it. Today was a good day, no cruise ships docked, very few people around and the little bar was empty apart from the bar lady. Lucky for us. We had two of the four stools found at the counter. They serve a small selection of beer and a massive selection of tequila ( no gin) that's ok.. I had a beer! The front door open to the street and back door open to a little strip mall. Toilets are a little tricky to find but you have a massive key thingy to carry and as a result the other shopkeepers know where you are headed and guide you. So long story short it is touristy but I'm glad I went. It was definitely whimsical fun and I would recommend it to you guys if you are in town of CSL. read more

They claim to be the worlds smallest bar. It is certainly possible, as the entire place is about 5 foot wide and 15 foot deep, at the most. Obviously, the seating is limited, but the bartenders are friendly and the service is great. read more
