This place is amazing. Came here on a Thursday later afternoon and it was pretty empty. The associates here were super nice, kind, and patient with everyone. I asked where the nearest bathroom was and they told me where the "clean" one was and where the "closest" one was, I do appreciate that info. After we got settled in, we did the entire process in about 45 min and was pretty impressed with the quality of the slime, the smell options, etc. Our 3 yr old had a great time. I will say the price for the make your own was a bit of a shock at $27, but they were very up front about it and didn't try to sneak it in. It wasn't bad as a one time thing. read more

Visited this place for the first time yesterday for a playdate with a small group of kids. The 4-star rating reflects my kid's score (5 stars) and mine (3 stars) together. Here are my 8 year old's thoughts; he called it "a really fun place to make great slime" - you can make really cool textures of slime, including "cloud" -- the kid recommends "clear" and "butter" because they are the most stretchy and squishy of all the options - you can add smells and accessories - the employees are really nice and tell you what to do - it's satisfying when it's mixing because all the colors come together As a parent, I'll say this makes for one expensive playdate. At $30 a pop it adds up, and the hands-on time is maybe 20 or 25 minutes total. Still, every kid there was having a good time. And there are a lot of fun mix-ins so that everyone makes something unique and uber-personalized. And the slime is still top toy at home on day 2. You can make reservations ahead of time, but those seem loosey-goosey because walk-ins are also welcome any time. read more

The place is open til 6 on Sundays we went it at 5:02 where they said they couldn't help us, we were two minutes late and they need to clean for an hour. Make this make sense lol. SMH Very disappointing, went in as a family tried to use our 6 year olds gift card since the one in the Washington square mall has already closed shop... I saw this open recently in the Tanasbourne shopping center and was glad this location is closer to home than the Washington Square one. Parking on the street if you're lucky but there is also a parking garage and upper level outside parking as well. We took our daughter here to do the DIY slime experience as her birthday present and she had a great time! We were the only ones there on a Thursday mid morning so we got to have a one-on-one experience which was nice. The steps to this DIY experience were clearly displayed and explained on each of the walls and the person there did a great job explaining everything and helping her slime become less sticky. (Omg so sticky lol) They had a few different kinds of slime bases to choose from, then you pick a color and a scent. You take this to the mixing station with the pretty teal Kitchen Aid mixers to mix and it smelled so good! (She picked marshmallow so it smelled like birthday cake!) The next step is to add mix-ins like confetti balls or glitter and little sprinkle like items. You take all this to the table station and mix mix mix and make sure the slime is the stickiness you want. This is probably the most fun part for her and I'm sure other kids because you get to stretch and fold and play with the slime! The last step is to pick 3 big toppers to put on top of your slime container to take home. The whole thing was $27 and I thought it was worth it for the fun special experience! My daughter was delighted to find this place in the mall and had to give it a try. I don't understand the whole slime obsession among the kids these days. But I could see the fun in it when I saw the process there. You choose your base, scent, color and then they mix it in a blender for you. Then you add all kinds of mix-ins and knead it yourself. Finally, you get to add toppers and you get a box to put it in. The place is kept clean despite the messy business it is. There was one employee to help everyone but she was doing her best to keep everyone's wait time low. A little expensive to do it often but can see this as a fun activity once in a while. read more

We had a great time at the Slime Kitchen. It was a bit chaotic at first. There were so many people, so many different lines at every inch of the counter and no one on the floor to guide you. It wasn't until we approached the counter to realize we were in the wrong line. Once we found the right line (far left of the counter) we were well taken care of by Ava. She was wonderful with our girls, walked us over to each station and explained each step. She was fantastic with kids and very patient. The whole experience took about 30 minutes but you can stay for longer to play with your homemade slime. One thing worth mentioning is even the least stickiest slime they sell is still very sticky. Bring clothes you do not care for. We made the mistake and wore some nice shirts and they were immediately destroyed. This was my mistake. We will definitely be back for another slime kitchen experience and again a big thank you to Ava for making it so much fun! read more

A little pricey for slime you can buy way cheaper anywhere else. But it's the fun of designing and adding your mix ins that my grandson loved. It's an awesome indoor activity for a rainy day takes about an hour to do the whole process. They give you slime activator packets to keep it fresh, it's been about a month and it still has the scent and is pliable. We would give it another stop just with the kid, only adding an adult isn't worth it. read more

The idea of the place is very good, the quality of the products is good, but the staff's attention is terrible! My husband and I entered the place with our 2 daughters and 2 friends. The manager of the place assisted us, her name is Jeannette and she was with very bad attitude, too rude with the children. I commented to her that she was being very rude with the children and that was not necessary, she responded me very rudely and threatened to call security, I told her to go ahead, call security and I would show the videos, then she turned around and left to tell all her co-workers what happened, all of them making dirty faces at me. She made threats and bad attitudes in front of the girls and they were very scared. Very good idea of this place, but the staff has no professionalism which turns it in a very bad place to go again. My daughter and I visited the one of their locations in San Jose a few months ago and fell in love with this place! Even went two days in a row. And when we found out they were opening a location in Portland, we were so stoked and became their first customers at WA Square mall. And this place is consistently the same as the other location in San Jose! The variety of slime textures, scents, colors and glitter, and add-in's and charms to choose from are fun & of awesome quality. They even sell their own premade slime textures with fun mix-ins to buy for a friend or as a gift. We did both. And yes, ME and my daughter are addicted. It's not just a kid thing. It's $30 per person which seems outrageous considering we just went to Sloomoo and Houston last month and it was $37.99 for an immersive slime experience that took us an hour and a half to complete. Here at Slim kitchen it took 15 minutes to make slime we could've made it home and cost us way too much. At Sloomoo you get to walk in slime playing in several different types of slime, slingshot slime throw slime in the slime wall, tons of different rooms, you even have the option to upgrade to even be slimed with rain ponchos on. slime kitchen is not worth the cost for the experience you get. read more

Tried this place tonight. Came in, tried to understand the signs. Went to where it said "start here" and waited for a long time. Then realized other people were lining up at the cash register and being helped before us. We moved to that line and waited longer. No one greeted folks to let them know the process, acknowledge them or what to do. Finally we are at the front of the line and still, no one acknowledges us. After a while I ask if we are supposed to just keep waiting and someone tells us the scoop. The whole thing seemed very disorganized and the signs didn't match what we were told at all (where to start, signs that said "don't touch" or " let staff assist you" but then we were told we were supposed to do it ourselves), and the staff seemed thoroughly annoyed to be working and were less than friendly. I can't believe we paid $30 for $3 slime and a bad experience. read more

They had some fun options for scent & texture, the colors were limited. Overall, my kids enjoyed the experience but for me, given the price tag, I expected better slime. My kids chose butter slime & cloud slime as their base, both types were extremely sticky. It's so sticky that they both would rather just poke at it in the container rather than actually take it out and play with it.
