Large selection of projects, personal attention, clean, tidy, friendly, knowledgeable. I highly recommend it for a fun, productive activity. Special Note: The location is in the Orenco Station section of Hillsboro which may be the nicest part of any city in all of Oregon. Peaceful, clean, safe, upscale without being snobbish, very nice restaurants and bakeries.

A solid 4. Man alive is it EXPENSIVE to bowl now a days. Oh lord - do I sound OLD AF saying that!!!…read moreHa! My daughter and I went to bowl as part of celebrating her birthday. She and I chose King Pins. Well I technically chose them as the bowling was the least expensive in the area. And for us two, for 90 minutes, it was almost $70. Yes. That's EXPENSIVE. So we made the most of it and had a great time. We played with all the options in the bowling area for games and were silly and had fun. And clearly didn't bowl well lol But despite the price - fun was had. Service is okay at best over by the "Tap house," but at least the option exists to have "table service," while you bowl. This trip was just bowling. No arcade! Still 4 stars.

It was a last minute ask (thank you, dear child *eye roll*) that I was able to book at a preferred time in under a week, and the kids had fun, which is what mattered most! From start to finish, service was spot on: we were met by Coleton who walked us through the logistics & timing, as well as helped with some changes I requested due to attendance, and our server was Paige who made sure the boys never went without beverages. Pizzas came out quickly so the kids were able to eat & bowl, and everything was timed to perfection so they were able to sing to the Birthday Boy and enjoy cake before heading over for some Laser Tag & arcade time to end the festivities. It was also great to have a table reserved in the arcade area for belongings & whatnot, which also allowed some pitchers of beverages for the rest of the time. The space itself was immaculate and staff was buzzing around to keep tables turned over, bowling balls replaced to their rightful homes for future bowlers and the restrooms (at least the ladies!) were also clean (I know that can be a big deal for families, especially with Littles). All in all, I'd say this was money well spent, especially considering everything that is included in the package. For 7 total kids, I think they played 3-4 games of bowling, we did 2 laser tag games & their arcade time, didn't have to set up, break down or clean up party supplies/food, etc -- id do it again in a heartbeat!

We ordered the large platter, chose the sliced basket, chopped brisket, pulled pork, tater tots, Mac n cheese, 3 cheese biscuit, ranch dressing, and BBQ sauce. It came with pickles, pickled onions, and 3 bread slices. It was a lot of food! It was also very good! The ax throwing was sooo much fun!!! The gentleman that showed us how it worked was very clear in his instructions, which I for one found very helpful. Throwing axes is fun, good exercise, and a unique way to spend time with people you like/love! The only thing I would suggest is that you dress in light cool clothes, because it's very warm in there. I'm so looking forward to getting a group of friends together to do this again!!! I love supporting small businesses and this is a good one to support.

Came here last month to attend a "team outing" for work, and I gotta say the experience of axe…read morethrowing here was way better than other places I have thrown at. But I'll go into more about that later. Here's why I would choose Blue Ox for entertainment versus the others: First of all, the bar/restaurant is located in the heart of old school downtown Hillsboro. It's mostly street parking, but there is a parking lot and garage nearby. I'll just say, I've always been lucky finding parking next to the place. Upon entering, you'll notice they've got a dining area well large enough to accompany and entertain big groups. Past that is an open area for cornhole and couches for lounging, and a lovely bar after that. It's surprisingly huge! I mean, I haven't even mentioned the throwing lanes yet lol. But yeah, just past the bar area, they've got about 8 or 10 throwing lanes. Here's why Blue Ox stands out to me... ~ We met up with manager (possibly owner), Lonnie, who first took our food order and he explained a bit about Fat Baby Barbecue that provides the food for the space they share. The Q was really tasty and worth a try if you're hungry for some smoky-meaty goodness. ~ After eating, over at the lanes area, Lonnie discussed the rules and showed my team the basics on how to throw. But here's the cool part... Each lane had a remote control to choose what games you want to play. It's not just a big red and white target you throw at, but the targets are projected onto the board and it keeps score for you. I'm sure it's not a new concept, but this I've never done a other axe throwing places. ~ But here's the best kicker of all! They let us try their fancy throwing knives and ninja stars. Again, another feature I've never done at others. We all had a blast using these. So overall, in short, if you need an entertaining date night. Or need a spacious venue that provides decent barbecue and bar food for your family or workmates, then this is your place. Come check it out!

We made lemon ricotta filled cappelletti, and learned how to make the homemade dough. The filling was premade for us, probably due to time constraints, but we were given the recipes for both. They provided to-go boxes for us to take the cappelletti home with us, and we were able to taste what the chef made along with us. The whole experience was very personal, a lot of fun, and was a great hit with our team. We will definitely be taking another class in the near future.

The entire store is really cute and cozy. There were people in and out while we were there. My friend bought a bagel to eat during class and said it was fantastic! The class itself was great. The instructor taught us the ages in 2 parts. While we were executing after demonstration he would walk around and give notes and/or praise our work. They had all the equipment we needed and the recipe printed for us to take home when class was over. This was my first cooking class but not my friends. She said it's a bit different than the ones she's taken as we didn't prepare everything ourselves (the tortellini filling was made for us) and we didn't actually cook the pasta there, we prepared it and then boxed it up to bring home to cook, while the teacher cooked theirs for us to try. It was also cheaper than most other classes so maybe that's why? In any event we both enjoyed it and the space and agreed we'd take more classes there that interested us.

I inquired online, and immediately received a response about availability and pricing, excellent! But before confirming I decided to stop by to actually check the place out. When I walked in, I was immediately welcomed by Katy whom by coincidence was the person I had been communicating with via email, perfect! I can't say I've had any experience purchasing from this place as other yelpers have. But wow, what a perfect little facility on holding a single event. We had planned for lunch at a restaurant to follow. Its a small hunting store with a range, not a cafe lol. Much love to Katy, who explained the services to me. We had a 90 minute slot reserved prior to lunchtime and needed an instructor. Our group was only eleven people, so our rate was about $13.50 per person for rentals. Which included the 90 minute session of range time, one paper target, and rental gear of a recurve bow and arrows. And we did use a "range host" for an additional $100. I think his name was Jim, but I forgot. He was great, but sorta wish he would've explained a little more about safety as we had a few folks new to archery. Regardless, if you're looking for a fun team-building facility, this might just be a good option. My team had fun, and we likely would do it again. Other highlights: - The monitors above to view the targets. Like a bowling alley score tracker. - And the stars on Lane 13, honoring those (likely friends and family) that have served our military. A salute to them and our country! God bless America!
