    Race track

We visited on a Saturday night at 8:30pm and were told it would be a 90 minute wait. This was my first time here, so I didn't know what to expect. Luckily there is an arcade to keep you occupied and comfortable lounge seating if you'd like to relax. There are food options and plenty of beverage options as well, but I didn't order anything so I can't speak to the quality. And you can always watch all the races ahead of you for entertainment as well. Unfortunately our group ended up waiting over 2 hours to race. It would be nice if the wait times/list were posted so you could see where you are in the line. As a female spectator, I was grateful for the ample lounge seating and relatively clean restrooms. If I return to this location, I would plan to bring my headphones and listen to an audiobook while waiting. :) Our group had fun once they got onto the track and I like how you can receive a printout of your race/lap times and where you placed, but a 2+ hour wait will prevent me from returning anytime soon.

My mother and I took my nephew to K1 Speed for his birthday; thanks to my friend Sasha Martinez for the recommendation he had a blast I highly suggest checking them out...They cater to kids & adults (beer). They had two birthday parties going on while we were there. One older group with ages 50+ and the other group were a bunch of kiddos. They all raced it was fun to watch. It's a nice facility, nice staff, food is pretty decent. I bought two races but only did one because I was scared those go karts are extremely fast, too fast for me lol. We will most likely be back to take the other kiddos.

Entrance, compete with an actual Indy car

K1 Speed is hard to rate, because the racing experience was FANTASTIC, but the customer service and a few other items were less than ideal. First, the good: If you've ever raced gas-powered go-karts at "open to the public" establishments (instead of private competitive places), you know that they're all generally underpowered and slow, and the gas fumes from the (literal) lawnmower engines are sinky and noxious. The carts at K-1 are full electric, and have modern telemetry, electronic control, and display screens in the middle of the steering wheels. This allows for the race controllers to allow racers to file out of the "pit lane" at low speed, even at full throttle. Once the last racers is out of the pit, higher power is enabled, and you're immediately met with a rush of VERY fast acceleration and a top speed that's very well-suited to the challenging and fun course. These cars are TONS faster (top speed) and accelerate TONS faster than any other cart I've ever raced. It is quite a sensation to feel the wind rushing past you as you race. Should a racer spin or crash, the race controller engages "caution" mode, which reduces the carts' top speed to that of racers filing out of pit row, or to stop the carts altogether. When this happens, an animated "Caution" flag is displayed on the steering wheel screens so that racers know what is happening. The course at this location is FUN, and is very challenging. It took me until about halfway through my second race to start to really get the feel of the course, and to really seconds off of my lap time. At the end of your day, you'll be given printouts of statistics of all racers' performance. It should be noted that the objective of the race is to get the lowest lap time, not to pass other racers, although they do offer such races on special nights. While it may not seem like it, K1 Speed is a GREAT Place to bring kids. K1 has "junior" race carts, and if juniors are racing, they race by themselves, thereby allowing them the full course to explore without worry about adult racers endangering them. It was really great to see two youngsters have the entire course to themselves. If you're a petite adult, you're not allowed to race the junior carts, but they do have booster seats for the adult carts. At the location is an actual race car to admire, a small arcade, an eatery, and a giant sign showing an overhead view of the race course, as well as the optimal line one should take when racing it. So, now for the not so great things: 1. The wait times: We went on a Monday night, thinking we'd be in and out pretty quickly, especially considering that the parking lot was basically empty, and the establishment was almost completely empty when we arrived. Despite this, we had to wait about an hour and a half for our slot to come up. We did two races back-to-back, though. While this is completely understandable, I'd really have liked to have had some sort of indication that we'd have to wait that long before being able to race. Also, there was only one employee working the front desk, and it took far longer than expected to get signed in and pay for our races. 2. Stock levels: We each opted for a package that included annual membership, a free T-shirt, and two races. Their selection of T-shirts was wide, but most of them in our sizes were out of stock (women's medium and men's XL), and we'll have to make a return trip to (hopefully) get our T-shirts. 3. The PA system: The race controller announces when racers are to report to the staging area to race. This is perfectly audible and intelligible in the hallway, eatery, and front desk, which is fine if you happen to be in any of those areas. If you're in the arcade or the actual racing area, it is almost impossible to hear because the volume is low, and there's a lot of echo. I'd like to come back to K1 Speed early in the day on a weekday in hopes that it will result in a shorter wait time.

This place has a small parking lot but plenty of parking for those that want to come here. The is a small arcade in the back. The indoor track is a nice size. You must have a membership to use the track. They can have up to a 2 hour wait. My party did not want to wait for 1 hour to use the track. We were also told we couldn't drink at the bar while we waited. I understand no drinking and driving. That is smart. Hard to get a party of 7 to sit still for an hour and wait.

We loved the Cosmic Crash bumper cars, the Ferris Wheel which had an amazing view of the park, the Go Karts of course, the fast Rock & Roll ride with great music, and the Carousel. Our favorites were the rollercoaster which we did twice, I did the Zero Gravity ride twice which was fun and surprisingly relaxing too, and we loved the adrenaline rush of the AtmosFear ride. We chose the 180 option. Definitely will try the 360 option next time. Great they have those two choices. We stayed for hours. Clean park. Bathrooms were clean. Plenty of food and beverage options available. Merch for sale. Kiddie rides, family rides, adult rides. Great for groups, family, kids, teens, adults, couples. Soooo fun! Such a relaxing time but a super fun day and a great date activity. Waits for rides were not long, people were respectful, and staff were efficient. Can't say anything about the food as we ate before coming to the park so we didn't try anything but next time I would love to give the classic elephant ears a try! My day spent here definitely felt like an escape. A place to leave your worries behind and just have a good time. Such a thrill! Highly recommend Oaks Amusement Park. I guess that should have been a clue. You can buy a bracelet, or individual tickets for rides. If you're accompanying a child under a certain age, you are able to buy a bracelet for a lower price. There's a handful of kid rides that kids can go on if they meet the height requirement. There's also a game area, with carnival-like games. But they're freaking expensive; we played the pond one since it was a guaranteed win and the odds of a 3 year old playing any of the other games successfully are pretty low. But it was 6 bucks. There were 3-4 other games in that area. It wasn't a very extensive park. And when we went on a Friday in August, there only seemed to be one of the food trucks open--the boba truck. So that was disappointing. But luckily they had other food, and that food wasn't too bad. Parking isn't bad. There's lots of it and it's cheap, I think it was $2. Check out their website for their BOGO (or discounted?) bracelet days.

She and I chose King Pins. Well I technically chose them as the bowling was the least expensive in the area. And for us two, for 90 minutes, it was almost $70. Yes. That's EXPENSIVE. So we made the most of it and had a great time. We played with all the options in the bowling area for games and were silly and had fun. And clearly didn't bowl well lol But despite the price - fun was had. Service is okay at best over by the "Tap house," but at least the option exists to have "table service," while you bowl. From start to finish, service was spot on: we were met by Coleton who walked us through the logistics & timing, as well as helped with some changes I requested due to attendance, and our server was Paige who made sure the boys never went without beverages. Pizzas came out quickly so the kids were able to eat & bowl, and everything was timed to perfection so they were able to sing to the Birthday Boy and enjoy cake before heading over for some Laser Tag & arcade time to end the festivities. It was also great to have a table reserved in the arcade area for belongings & whatnot, which also allowed some pitchers of beverages for the rest of the time. The space itself was immaculate and staff was buzzing around to keep tables turned over, bowling balls replaced to their rightful homes for future bowlers and the restrooms (at least the ladies!) were also clean (I know that can be a big deal for families, especially with Littles). All in all, I'd say this was money well spent, especially considering everything that is included in the package. For 7 total kids, I think they played 3-4 games of bowling, we did 2 laser tag games & their arcade time, didn't have to set up, break down or clean up party supplies/food, etc -- id do it again in a heartbeat!

But I can't honestly tell you that. The truth is, I chose to stand there on principle. I had absolutely no intention of swimming, using the slides, or taking advantage of any of the attractions. I simply wanted to spend the day with my grandsons, watching them laugh and making memories together. Instead, I was expected to pay approximately $40 simply to walk through the gate and be with my family. I understand that every business has the right to set its own admission policies, and I respect that. But I also have the right to decide when a policy simply doesn't make sense. So, for four hours, I stood just inside the front entrance near the front door while my grandsons enjoyed the park--not because I had to, but because I couldn't justify paying full admission for services I never intended to use. My hope is that Wings & Waves will reconsider this policy. A reasonably priced spectator pass for grandparents, parents, caregivers, or anyone who simply wants to accompany their family without participating would make the park far more welcoming to families. I truly hope no other grandparent has to make the same choice I did.

The VIP tickets are worth it, as you just head to the right of the lines to enter the houses and walk right in. Nice. They have a few vendors of super cool, handmade things and one food cart with fresh, artisan dogs and other sides. Wish there was more food and adult drinks are great (no hard booze that I saw), but reasonably priced wine, beer, cider. 3 drinks for 30$ with a nice tipper, I'd say a deal at an event.
