From unloading/reloading my car, set up and clean up, to facilitating all activities with positivity and happiness. Brenda and her Son were so forth coming, and helpful. They turned something that could have been overwhelming into something relaxing and joyful. I am writing this review to express my deep anger regarding the Jitter Bugs class today (Saturday,…read more12:00 PM, 5/16/2026). My child was only allowed to participate in two out of the three sections. The substitute teacher banned him from the final section, abruptly stating he didn't "meet expectations." As the only minority family in the room, the lack of transparency and fairness felt extremely targeted and discriminatory. When we tried to politely communicate with her to ask for clarification, she showed absolute zero willingness to talk and exhibited a shockingly rude and hostile attitude toward us. This is completely unacceptable behavior for an educator working with young children. We felt targeted, unwelcome, and mistreated. I highly expect the management of Oregon Gymnastics Academy to look into this specific class and address this unprofessional substitute teacher.

My daughter did a week long summer camp at OGA. It was pricey, during COVID, and I had no idea what…read moreto expect. Well I was pleasantly surprised. Day one check in was perfectly smooth, the staff was organized and everything was on time. According to my daughter, class was super fun. Everyone kept their masks on and stayed safe. Check out was the same. Fast, efficient and friendly. Repeat for each day of camp. Truly the only issue I experienced was other parents being rude in the parking lot, as there isn't a lot of parking and people would just stop and block cars and not care about anyone but themselves. I'm guessing this is a regular occurrence because it is super hard to find a spot and not get your car hit by someone in a rush. Let me be 100% clear, this is not a reflection of OGA. And it's not their responsibility. But it is something I experienced all week in the morning and evening. I highly recommend the center for gymnastics. The coaches encouraged each girl regardless of their talent level. The other thing about the staff that stood out is that there were so many different body types of Instructor. They didn't all look petite and muscular. It was empowering for young girls to see that, because your body type doesn't dictate what you can or cannot do.

Staff is friendly, the price is reasonable considering not many places in town offer inclusive recreation / camps, and the owner took a lot of time to meet with us (zoom) beforehand to answer questions and make sure it was a good fit. My son is 9 but I see a lot of younger kids there and I believe they work with older kids too.

I was especially pleased with the birthday party - there were no hidden fees and all the kids had an amazing time (even as 12 year olds, which I wasn't sure about before booking). Hosting birthday parties can be stressful but they made it very stress-free. I'm bummed that my kids are aging out of some activities there (I understand why you don't want small children running around with teenagers at all events) but I highly recommend it for other parents, or adults that want to parkour at the all-age events. Also, the location is great - safe, walking distance to a park, and a short drive to food / convenience places.

If you're here for the sport, the ice is always fantastic; consistently solid and well-maintained, which is clearly why the Winterhawks use it as their practice facility. However, the rest of the facility definitely shows its age. The stands are nice enough, though they are located on the far side from the entrance, making for a bit of a trek if you're carrying gear. The lobby isn't huge, and the locker rooms are a tight squeeze, especially if you have a full-roster adult hockey team trying to gear up at once. On the positive side, you can tell they are making an effort to modernize. The lobby, locker rooms, and bathrooms have been renovated, which is a huge improvement over how they used to be. The staff is also very friendly and helpful, whether you're there for a tournament or just a public skate. It's a classic, "old school" rink that has its quirks but remains a reliable staple for the local hockey community.
