Clean and safe indoor playground at a smaller venue where it is easy to keep an eye on your kids. However, staff there did not like our kids running in their tag game because there were younger kids around. Kinda defeats the purpose of a playground if free play/running is not allowed. (The entire floor is nicely padded.) There weren't age-stratified playtimes listed, but they did have sensory-friendly times, which not all venues provide. It might not get all the kids' wiggles out if running isn't on the menu. The main play structure is great for preschool and young elementary ages, as is the short rock wall. There are other toys around to play with, but these have to be kept in the area away from the structure. I think I have a different idea of what a mixed-age playground can handle. As a mom of mixed-age kids, I don't think the running was disruptive or dangerous at all. But it's not my call, and we must abide by their rules if we want to play there. We ended up leaving after a short time to head to a park so the kids could run. Luckily the weather was accommodating. read more

I've been here several times for birthday parties and have had a great experience every time. The kids had plenty of activities to keep them busy and not once have I ever heard a complaint about being bored. The place is very clean and the staff is friendly. Took the grandkids here for the first time today. Quite a nice experience. Clean equipment. A variety of playground like structures and toys for a wide variety of aged kids. My granddaughter preferred the rock wall. Smaller than the pictures made me think, but still plenty big. My parents took my kids here today (2 year old & 4 year old) to get some playtime & was approached by a really rude front desk representative who had informed my kids that they were being too loud as they were entering the premises. She had told my parents that they're not allowed to be inside to play if they're going to be loud. As a return customer who had previously made a reservation for a party, this is disappointing. My parents and kids felt unwelcomed and decided to leave. The purpose of this place is supposed to be a safe place for kids to roam and play. Definitely wont be coming back. read more

This place was a lot of fun for my 9 month old and I. Lately he had been apparently bored with the same old selection of toys at home so I wanted to take him somewhere that had some new things for him to play with. Based on the other reviews, I wasn't sure whether Outdoors In would have toys for him. I had the (mistaken) impression that it was going to be mostly just an indoor playground. I was pleasantly surprised to find a huge selection of age-appropriate toys for him to enjoy! He loved the ride-on vehicles, the huge bin of play tools, musical instruments, plastic bowling set, activity center with wire beads etc. We will definitely be returning whenever we get bored of hanging out at home. This is a great resource! These types of low cost, indoor play areas are hard to come by. I came here on a Saturday afternoon and while it was busy, there was still much to do for the 2 year-old. I liked that the staff member in the front made the rules/expectations clear and enforced them so everyone could have a safe, fun time. I hope this place sticks around!! read more

Really loved this place for my almost 2 year old. $4 for Hillsboro residents, $6 for non. Adults free. THERE IS A SCHEDULE for open closed times. Lots of cool toys for ALL ages and genders. Balls, 3 sizes of basketball hoop, rock wall, cars and trucks, ride in cars, tea sets, dolls, and the other side is a playground play area with lots of slides and a light up wall. The only downer is the chick who sits at the sign in desk doesn't enforce any rules. So when you get rowdy kids in the who's parents aren't watching them or doing anything about their attitude/rowdiness... you have to be THAT parent. I saw a few girls fall off the roof of the ride in cars and hot the ground, kids pushing small kids around on the stairs to the playground, older kids going down slides right behind smaller kids with 3 other slides wide open.... etc etc. So if there's a brat present... be prepared to be the enforcing parent. read more

I went today with a group of 5 kids all under the age of 6. It was alright. Has a giant play structure, a climbing wall, regular toys and a seating area if you brought snacks. Padded floors with angles when it met up with the eating area. Very nice restrooms upstairs in the Civic Center. I thought this was a regular business but it appears to be part of the city government. It costs like $3.50 for each child to get in, I think (don't know as the head person paid for all the kids -- none of which are actually my kids). When they closed at noon to do sanitation stuff we went and played in the fountain right outside the door at the Civic Center. They have park benches for parents, adult sized tables and chairs for little ones. All around? An easy, fun thing to do with kids. I am giving it a 3 because I only went once and was not there more than a couple of hours. I give 3's often if I do not know what to give it. It was alright. Note that I prefer an outside park, for what it is worth. If you like these kinds of venues? You would likely call it a 4 or 5. Issues I had? Tables and chairs were designed for big people (the kind with holes in the back of the chair) as were the tables. We each stood behind the smaller kids so they did not wiggle out. Parking was a little hard with little ones if its over 2 hours. Parking is 2 hours spots in the areas I looked including the civic center parking lot. Each hour we saw the parking patrol marking down what license plates were there. I asked the police what they recommended for parking and they said the 2 hour spots. I moved my car a couple of times during the few hours there (we had 2 vehicles). I saw that the play structure had one spot (closest to the climbing wall) that really needed one more step otherwise it is too high for a little one (all under age 6) to step down from. The other side had the step it is designed for. I would have probably chosen 3 wheeled bikes instead of the 2 wheeled motorcycle things that kids would regularly dump over once they went down the angled, padded floors. Note: they close from 12 noon to 1pm to sanitize the facility. read more

Huge toy structure, Tons of toys, bikes, puzzles, teeter totter, rocking horses, a huge intetactive electronic toy for kids of all ages. Outside food is welcome, and even tables to sit at. Took my twins here today. It was rainy and blustery and they had an excellent time climbing and going down the slides and playing with so many toys. It's cheaper if you live in Hillsborro but absolutely worth a visit and a good way to tire out the kids inside. read more

I went there with my little one(she is around 28months). I think she had fun. I like the place because the room was big, bright and clean. There were a lot of different kinds of toys to play with. However, there were several issues for me. First, there were no high chairs for little ones. That was not good. Second, There were not enough parking spaces for two hours parking or more. Finally, the structure of the slide was a little dangerous. My daughter fell from the stairs through of the side. I think the holes should be smaller. The person sitting at the front wanted all the kids to wear their shoes on during playing. Kids usually take shoes off at other place but not here. Overall I like the place. Super fun! My son loves it! I'd give it 5 stars... But, some of the parents need to supervise their children a bit closer. Possibly teach them some proper manners. Sitting, drinking coffee and watching the view on your cellphone is not proper child supervision. Kids can get seriously injured, thank goodness I shadowed my son the whole time, he almost got trampled twice, knocked off the high play structure and toys ripped out of his hands. He's just 14 months.. And of course, the Mothers see this and do nothing. I'll definitely be back, but on a slow day. It's hard enough watching my boy, I don't need to watch other parents kids. Maybe take chairs away so parents have to actually interact with their children? Lol, I don't know.. Hard to regulate how people parent and how they should supervise their children. Great for toddlers on a rainy day. Basically an outdoor play area transplanted to an indoor space. There is an area where parents can sit and take care of and feed babies while the bigger kids play. There is an electronic "whack-a-mole" type game. You don't whack, you just touch panels as they light up. Pretty good exercise for parents, too. Note: Bigger slides are very steep and fast, and the outer ones have a little bend at the very end. My kid hit his cheek bone on the "rail" as he twisted a little on his way down and entered the turn. Also saw some kids fly two or so feet off the end of the slide and land on their butts. Part of the fun, but these slides are quicker than average. Starbucks next door. Nice bathrooms on second floor. Parents don't pay. Just the kids. Hillsboro residents are cheap. Non residents are a bit more. Google directions to this address will take you to the bleak parking lot on the other side of the complex. Don't park there.This one is next to the Thai restaurant. It's a little hard to find this place on Google maps. I typed the name of the place but Google treated the "in" as a preposition, not really as part of the name. After all I had to go to Yelp and find the address there. I wouldn't drive here from far away, but if you live anywhere in Hillsboro, it's good. read more

Fun place to take the kids. I went there with mine and they had a blast. Weather was crappy and the boys had tons of energy so I need a place for them to burn it off. Thankfully this place is plenty big in the inside and the price was more than reasonable. The other kids were great as well and the other parents kept a good eye on their kids. This place is a cool spot for children to play, except they need to get a new worker to run this. So I came on a rainy day for my daughter to play, right when you enter there is a desk where you pay at. There's a lady name Mariah working and she explained what time it closed and how much it cost if you lived in Hillsboro, $4. So I paid with a $20 and she gave me my change back, I then put it straight in my pocket not looking at it yet cause I had to chase after my 2 year old daughter who went running straight to the play structure then I look at the change as soon as I got settled down and noticed she only gave me $4 back?! I was like wth and went straight back to the desk where she was sitting at and I noticed as she saw me walking back to the desk she acted like she was doing something. I told her excuse me you only gave me 4 dollars back and I gave you a 20 and she then started saying she just noticed that and was about to go to me and give me the correct change back which is suppose to be $16. I was upset cause I knew she's lying and was just talking to save herself. So then i got my correct change back and proceed to watching my daughter play. So they close at 4 and I noticed straight at 3:30 Mariah started to clean up all the toys even while the kids were playing with it. It made me feel very rushed and uncomfortable. I felt bad for my daughter and the other kids cause you can tell they wanted to keep playing with the toys. So then we went back to the play structure since all the toys were being put away and while I was standing there watching my daughter play I can see Mariah cleaning and she seems angry, she was slamming the tables shut, and just seem like she was rushing to clean so she can leave. My little guy loves this place! It's so nice to have an indoor play facility in the area. My son is really active so it is nice to get out of the house. Every time I go everything is clean and I don't have to worry about him getting too dirty since he still does some crawling. It is also a good place to meet other parents and have some real conversations. I only give it 4 stars because I think the price is a little high, but for now my son comes and plays for free since he is under 13 months. read more

I have two boys (5 years and 16 months) and this place is perfect for both of them. My youngest was able to do so many things he hasn't done before... I feel like he's really thriving from his play time at Outdoors in. My oldest loves the climbing wall and the riding toys. All in all, it has been a very happy (and affordable) place for us to visit on a rainy day. And with rainy days on the horizon, it'll probably be our home base for a little while. read more

I just had my daughter birthday party here last night. It was her first birthday party. We were advised the limit was 70 people and I know it was starting to get crowded but we had not reached 70 people. The lady there was very unprofessional and told one of my guest she could not come in because there were too many people. She should have addressed that with me before telling my guest which she was wrong for doing. Second she yelled at me when I tried serving someone food while we were cleaning up. It was so embarrassing and it really was upsetting to be treated so poorly. I told her I would have the place cleaned up and we would be out by 8:30(I paid to have the place from 5:30-8:30). It was a little after 8 and we were almost done cleaning I just wanted my friend to have some food. She didn't get a chance to eat. I understand if there was something I did wrong but she did not know how to address the problems. You don't yell at anyone for any reason nor tell my guest they can't come in especially when she was in the wrong because we never reached the limit. I would have been happy to resolve the problem of she would have approached me instead of disrespecting me and my guest. I am very upset my daughters 1st birthday was so stressing because of this lady. The place was spotless when I left just like we agreed. She had no right to disrespect me infront of others. I strongly suggest this is not a place for birthday parties when a lady like that is supervising. She was unprofessional in almost every way possible. read more

Came here today with my sister, aunt and our kids. Didn't get there until about 3 and they closed at 4 which was fine since it was a last minute thing. The lady at the desk which I believe her name was Mariah? Seemed nice at first, but did mention that they would be closing soon. 3:30 rolls around and this lady gets up and starts putting toys away.. which was weird to us because first of all I've been there before, and "clean up time" usually didn't start until 10 minutes til. Anyways this ladies vibe and attitude made it very uncomfortable for us as she was racing around the entire room picking up and putting toys away, spraying things down making everybody that was in there feeling rushed to get out which was so not cool. I paid for my time to be there and we should have had every last minute to enjoy it. Definitely made me feel like I will not be returning, at least while she is there working. read more

Outdoors In is a Gem of an indoor playground to allow people to get out of the Oregon elements. Thank you for having such a clean facility with very nice and welcoming employees. I like how I can bring in my own snacks, my own coffee, and tap into the free wifi while my son plays in a safe environment filled with a ton of toys. The price is extremely cheap ($3.50 for 3 hours of play) while other places in the Metro area cost around $8.00. You can rent Outdoors In all to yourself and I can't wait to have my son's birthday party here with all our friends and family. read more
