What I did not like was there was they added an extra fee if you ordered through the app. That is a bad business model. The interior was fast food standard. This review is regarding what I define as deceptive marketing. I had never ordered food at Slim Chicken, so I only had my knowledge of what constitutes a chicken wing. A single chicken wing consists of three parts: the drumette, the wingette, and the tip -- that's what I expected when ordering what the restaurant labeled as "a Six Wing meal". When arriving at home, I discovered what they serve is a disassembled wing and they count each part as a whole wing. What the buyer actually gets is NOT a wing, but two of the three parts of a single wing and they count each part as "a wing". Just know what is going to happen before ordering. Ok, so back in April I wrote a review on Slim Chickens and gave it a 3-star, mainly because the staff was good. Didn't like the chicken. But, I received a comment from Slim Chickens that suggested: "If you visit us again, try having your tenders tossed in a sauce." So, it was late a few nights ago and my wife and I needed food and we had a BOGO chicken meal at Slim Chicken. "Alright.....let's try it one more time, this time with sauces." We both got the Slim's Plate (5 tenders, toast, fries, a drink and 2 sauces each). The sauces we got were Cayenne Ranch, Honey Mustard, Garlic Parmesan, and Korean BBQ. After the order through drive-thru, here is the where things went downhill. First, we pulled up to the window and were not acknowledged for a full minute (fyi, we were the only ones in line). Then, when the young lady opened the window, she looked tired and no smile (probably a long day at work, so I can be patient with that). She ran my card, gave me my card and receipt and then we waited.....and waited....and waited.....and waited. 5-10 minutes when by. Still no one else in line behind us. It was odd. That seems like a long time to wait, even if they just dropped the chicken into the fryer. When did get our food and it was all hot. So, I guess it is fine. Wish they would have communicated it was gonna take a bit of time, though. Well, we got home, opened the chicken and sauces and I was ready to have my mind blown by the selection. Had some fries.... eh, they were ok, nothing special. Then, we ate the chicken by itself, and I stand behind my last review = it was lacking any flavor. So, let's do the recommended sauces. We had the Honey Mustard.....tastes like store bought = nothing special & we don't like! We then had the Korean BBQ ..... not good either, too sweet, kinda syrupy. We tried the Cayenne Ranch......ok, that was better. Then went to the Garlic Parm......."ew" is the word that came out of our mouths. It was slimy and repulsive. We then stuck to the Cayenne ranch and dare not touch the rest. All in all, I have to downgrade to 2-star because the chicken has not improved and the sauces don't help. I am extremely disappointed in the sunset Ave location. I have been twice recently and had terrible experiences. The first time I emailed corporate about a hair in my food AND the workers in the drive thru activity making fun of a customer who could not roll down his window and had to open his door to grab food. I am literally begging all fast food restaurants in northwest Arkansas to a) pay your employees a wage that motivates them and gets them to care about their work and b) train and invest in your employees so they don't suck and c) staff your restaurants properly. My family visited this evening for dinner. We ordered 4 meals and it took a 35 minutes to get our food. One meal came out after 20 minutes so it was cold waiting on the rest of our order. The food wasn't very hot. I asked to speak to a manager and was told she was too busy to talk to me. I said I would like to talk to someone about the experience. A team lead was sent out and was apologetic and offered to pay for our food. We declined the offer since our goal is for them to improve service rather than get a free meal. The restaurant seemed to fill all online orders before in store customers. The restaurant was not understaffed either. Received a coupon for a chicken sandwich for getting the slim chicken app. When I ordered the sandwich Blake had to be told 3 times it wasn't a combo then on top of that tried to charge me $3 for cup of water. The service was super slow, no clue on customer service. First time to eat at a slims. Next time I'll come during lunch or dinner maybe the service will be better. Fantastic sandwich though. There are so many places that serve chicken tenders it is hard to make a distinguishing mark in a crowded field. That being said - Slim Chickens manages to do that in a negative way. I've always liked Slim Chickens. My wife especially likes the salads. We went in today and ordered our meals. It's advertised as kids eat free on Sunday. Our daughter said she wasn't hungry when we ordered, so instead of wasting food, we didn't order her a free kids meal. Halfway through our meals, she decided she wanted to eat.
