My husband loved this place. Honestly, I'm surprised there are so many low-rated reviews. We walked in early Saturday afternoon, right before a lunch rush, and were the only ones there. The restaurant was very clean and the staff were nice. I could tell the teen who took our order just started working here as he had to ask his manager where to find the option for "dry wings". Despite having to double check a few things, be was very nice. My husband ordered the chicken tenders and liked them a lot. The honey mustard was very heavy on the mustard so keep that in mind if you like something on the sweeter side. It was very tangy for my taste. The chicken tenders were cooked well and not dry at all. He opted for an oreo milkshake and enjoyed it - but this man will find a way to get a milkshake anywhere lol. I much rather have bone-in wings so was very happy when I noticed this was an option on the menu. I opted for mango habanero sauce and was pleasantly surprised. It's actually fairly similar to the Buffalo Wild Wings sauce. The fries were a little undercooked for my liking but that's just personal preference. The texas toast, however, was delicious. The red velvet oreo milkshake is a special this month and better than expected. The shake wasn't overly sweet. Our food was made quick and the quality was fresh! We had a big order and there was part of it missing, but when I called on the phone, they were professional about the mistake and I could tell the order was freshly made. I think that only happened because of a huge DoorDash order that they were also working on. I wish I could remember the cashier's name, he was very polite and very helpful. So here's my honest review on 11/04 at about 7pm I came in to try this for the first time. We pulled in there were 2 cars ahead of us in drive thru. It took 23 min for us to get to order. Once we ordered we got to the window and paid. Then the order was handed to us. 1st issues it was the wrong order. So we handed it back then we were instructed to go park. We did so 10 min later they brought out what we assumed was correct so we left. We got home and the order was cold and missing the kids deserts. Called and someone answered right away and told us to come back explained we lived kinda far away and we would stop by on 11/05 about the same time on our way back and get it taken care of. Well we did we pulled in to drive through and asked for the manager Selena introduced her self and said she would make it right we told her what happened last time and she said okay We get our food and immediately check it and to no surprise cold and looked like a 2 year old had thrown it in a box and stomped on it. Couldn't finish any of it. All was over salted, including the sauces. The wings were boiled and rubbery. The chicken was dry. The fried pickles were cold, floppy and way, way too much salt! The buffalo sauce was not spicy at all, neither was the mango habanero sauce! The Bbq sauce is like McD's, and the garlic parmesan sauce super salty and vinegary. Coleslaw was watery and dull. I've been here enough to know that Slims chicken is finger lickin' good! WAY better than Cane's. Edgier than Chik-Fil-A. Slims is one of THE COOLEST places Helena is lucky enough to have. They have great menu selections, w/ wings in 17 different flavors. The Korean BBQ & inferno sauces are ! They go above & beyond,& will give you any sauce you want when you order their strips. Their fried pickles are SO SO delicious & perfectly fried. Even their salads are amazing, with crispy onions & fresh greens. A real treat for those that are looking for keto or other low carb options. Their Peach Tea Lemonade is the perfect refreshing pairing for any dish. Better than most boba tea's I've had, so it was a nice find when there are no tea cafes in Helena. On a hot day, WOW do I feel lucky that I can get perfectly brewed Peach Tea from Slims. I will warn that their food can be a little on the salty side so if you're sensitive to sodium, you'll need to be cautious about what you order. I want to give Slims 4 or even 5 stars but they have some work to do. I've always had a VERY positive experience dining in. Location is clean & well maintained. Employees are hard working & friendly. However, I've never had a good experience going through the Drive Thru. Wait times are long & employees are hecka rude. Particularly Alexis. I came in on a Sunday because I saw their sign that stated kid meals are $1.99 on Sundays. I ordered 3 kids meals for my kiddos & a strawberry cheesecake jar (for me ). When she gave me the total of $22.96 I was confused. Surely she made a mistake when punching in the prices; the total should have been $12.96. When I got to the window, I asked her why the total was $22 & she explained (in a not so pleasant voice) that kids meals are ONLY $1.99 when you order it with an adult meal. I responded, "Ohhhh ok. It doesn't state that on the sign. That's really misleading." Instead of understanding how confusing & misleading that experience was, she was really rude about it & made a snarky commeny to the effect of it not being her problem because she doesn't decide the prices & oh well. I get it, she's young in her career & hasn't developed good customer service skills. A more seasoned employee would have gone the extra mile to give me one meal for $1.99 since I was ordering 2 other meals & a cheesecake jar which would have exceeded the price of an adult meal. This would have left me, the customer, feeling better about the experience. I do hope she reported this to the manager so they can create new messaging that's not so confusing. But I get it, the sign is small & there's only so much you can fit. Perhaps handling this better the next time around will ensure customers have a better experience after being misled. As a great Target employee once told me, "I would rather lose a few dollars than a lifetime customer, which is far more valuable." Another incident with this same employee happened just today. I ordered the 3 & 3 meal. I asked if I could sub the crispy onions for fries & she said that the onions are for the sandwiches & they can't give them to me, which seems so silly! I said ok you can't just give me a few? & she said very annoyed, which I kind of understand because I'm sure she comes across this request several times, that she's not willing to do that because there's no way for her to charge as a sub. I gave her several other options to make it work for both of us but she just wasn't willing to work with me on this, so I let it go. On one hand, I do understand where she's coming from but how hard is it to find a different solution? Or even realize that giving a customer a few crispy onions would be MUCH less expensive from an inventory perspective then giving a full serving of fries. But of course she seems to have a mentality that she's not willing to do anymore than she has to. This comes off as very unprofessional but I understand she's still learning. If she took customer service seriously & was in the business of delighting customers, perhaps she could have surprised me w/ a few crispy onions in my box. Again, I hope she's atleast sharing this information w/ management so they can provide a pathway to customers getting crispy onions even if they don't order a salad or sandwich. People will pay so take their money! Slims is a cool place w/ great potential. It's easy to be the best when you have no competition, & even easier to get complacent. I normally eat here once a week. I eat here because I used to be able to eat here for under $8, but now you're lucky if it's under $10. The food can be great but most of the time it's ok. Today I waited in the drive through longer than normal for almost 10 minutes before ordering and there was only one car ahead of me. Then I was asked what sauces do I want with my Classic tenders meal? I said the 2 that I wanted and was told that she would have my total at the window. when I got to the window I handed her a $10 bill since my food was $9.79. She said it's $10.18 because I ordered an extra sauce (.39). This was very frustrating that she would ask me what sauces? and then bill me for more than one sauce and not tell me!! When I asked about it she said that the slims meal with less chicken gets two sauces but not the classic or other meals....? I guess I'm not following the thinking behind it. But she did take .18 cents off so it was a straight $10. But my extra sauce was also only half full so it didn't even make it through my meal. It just seems like people here are not up front with what's included or not included in the meals here. I guess we just live in a nickle and dime world. Hi there, I love Slim Chickens but today I had a poor experience at the Helena branch that makes me think I won't be going back. I ordered a chicken basket with Mac n cheese for curbside pickup. When I got to the store, I notified them multiple times by tapping the "I'm here," prompt (on both the website and email), and after roughly 20 minutes I was getting upset because I got there right when my order was done and was waiting for someone to bring it out. I reluctantly went in and saw that they had my curbside pickup order sitting on the counter, and it had been there for the last 20 minutes. I have no problem coming in and picking it up, but it made me very upset since I ordered it for curbside pickup and was expecting it to just be brought out to my car (as the email stated!!) so at this point the food was cold and soggy. To make matters worse, my chicken had been shaken in the wrong sauce (I ordered honey BBQ but had gotten it in a different sauce, I'm not even sure what it was) AND I had been given fries instead of Mac n cheese. I'm not one to leave reviews and I am usually very relaxed about issues with my orders, but there were so many issues this time that I just had to make this aware. I ordered 2 meals, and when I picked up my order, I checked the top box which had the correct order. Therefore, I assumed the second order was correct. I would have just gone back into the store and asked for the correct order, but I had to drive somewhere (in a hurry) that was roughly 10 minutes away. I did not have the time to take everything out and examine it either, but regardless I feel that I should be able to trust the business where I am ordering food from.
