DO NOT! Bring your family here! We went here in the start of July. It was a hot day out and we asked to sit inside, the hostess insisted that we sit outside. 5 minute into our dinning it started pouring. They said they had a table inside for us to move to. Great we thought! WRONG! We were a party of 7. They wanted to put us at two separate high tops at the bar. 5 of our party at one table and 2 at the other. These tables were at different areas of the room and we had a baby with us. The high chair was about two feet below the table. There was a 7 person table in the same room sitting two people but the staff refused to move us. That wasn't the worst part! It took an hour and 15 minutes to get the food. The staff was as rude as could be. The table was too small so I had to hold my salad on my lap. It was kind of funny at first but it got old quick. We were waiting forever for utensils, the waitress took over 7 minutes to get them. The whole time we had to have one person walk with the baby because she was so far below the table she was getting scared and there is no way she would have been able to eat down there. We went to talk to the manager about the problem but he could care less. All they care about here is getting their money. Not even a discount on the meal! We ended up taking our meal to go. We wanted a nice family dinner, it destroyed our trip! One of the younger kids with us was crying the rest of the night because the staff was so rude. This being said. Can't beat chicken wings and beer. Best chicken wings I've had in a long time.

This is a decent place in the Adirondacks for lunch or dinner. Had lunch here twice in the past few weeks, salmon salad was delicious and fresh. Cheeseburger, fries, onion rings, Pizza, baked ziti and meatball special were enjoyed by others in my party. Good, average bar and grill/tavern-type food. Can eat in the more casual bar area or in the more formal dining room, which is kind of dark and could use some updating but clean. Good variety for kids even though there is no kids menu. Portions were good-not so huge that you left over-stuffed or with leftovers but enough that you felt like you had a good meal. Have visited the Inn about 10 times over the last 20 years and always enjoy my meal. Average service, didn't have to wait too long for our meals. This place is for sale, hope someone will take it over and continue to provide the town with a nice place to eat! read more

A very busy Saturday, but worth the 20 minute wait. We were seated in the enclosed porch and our server brought our drinks promptly. I enjoyed the spinach salad with chicken. The hot bacon dressing was flavorful, not greasy. My spouse said the French dip was one of the best he had ever had. Tender roast beef, just the right amount of provolone and a fresh toasted roll. The interior could use a good cleaning, at least to remove what appeared to be drips of chocolate sauce on the wall near our table. But good food and good service. read more

We had lunch here and it was excellent. The patio was a great place to sit and our food was good. I had the chowder and turkey sandwich and my kids had wings and a salad. Oh and a Saranac Adirondack to wash it all down. read more

We were taking the long way from Warrensburg to Shokan with my husband's aunt and uncle. We are from So Cal and we don't have fall colors so we explore often when we come here to visit. It was a rainy day and we stopped here for a "snack". I got the meatball ciabatta and a cup of chowder, as did my husband. It was very tasty. Service was good. It was crowded for a midweek midday meal, but not overly so. If I were ever back in the area, I would go back. read more

Awesome bar food in Old Forge! We went for dinner and had some great sandwiches and baked haddock and then came back for happy hour the next day and devoured plate-fulls of the 19 cent peel and eat spicy shrimp! It's not a fancy place but the atmosphere is comfy, the servers are friendly and the food is pretty damn good! Nice beers on tap, too. read more

This place is hit or miss. The pizza was like oily rubber on cardboard, but the blackened tuna sandwich was excellent. Unfortunately, it was hard to enjoy our meal with the bugs and flies swarming our table, landing on our food. read more

Great bar-style food with a bit of a twist. Came here for dinner after making the 5 hour trek from Boston, and needless to say we were famished. Based on reviews we were afraid we'd have to wait for a table, seeing as it was 7 on a Friday night. Thankfully we were seated right away. We started with the clam chowder based on reviews, it was ok. Maybe I'm spoiled living in chowder-central, but it didn't blow any wind up my skirt. Not bad by any means, though. For dinner I got the garlic butter chicken wings and my boyfriend got the coconut chicken. Wings were delicious, crispy skin, moist, and covered in delicious butter and mounds of garlic. The fries were delicious. The coconut shrimp was pretty good (tasted like standard coconut shrimp you'd get anywhere), but the dipping sauce that was served with it was phenomenal. It's a spicy raspberry sauce, an unexpected but welcome surprise. I dipped anything I could get my hands on into that sauce. Only other downside is the salt, or rather lack thereof. I'm not particularly into salty food, but I had to salt everything I got because there was just so clearly none added to any of the food. I can see how they might be trying to appeal to the lowest common denominator, as people can always add salt but can't take it away. A minor inconvenience for an otherwise tasty meal! read more

Was ok, food was good. Wings were tasty, was not happy with the tall, big gummy toothed bartender. She was a very angry person and very disrespectful to my wife who had a issue with her sandwich.. She should not be in the front of the house. read more

Horrible! Food was average but service was something to be desired. Was recently in Old Forge area on vacation with family. Ordered a cheese steak and cheese was not fully melted and sandwich came with some sort of what they called potato chips but had no taste so we ordered a basket of onion rings. Our food came out after about a half hour but our onion rings never did so I asked the waitress where they were and she said in the fryer she will be right back with them. A few minutes later comes back and gives our onion rings to the table behind us that came in after us then tells us she forgot them so by the time she finally did come back with them we had already finished our meal. Great place if you want flat soda, mediocre food and horrible service!!!!! Never again~ stay away! read more

I have visited Old Forge numerous times, and this is the first I visited Slickers. What a mistake that was. This place is great. The beer was ice cold, which is a big plus, the waitresses were very friendly, the food was very good and the prices were very affordable. I got the fish fry and the fish was flaky and very tasty. I'm not a big fan of coleslaw, but I have to admit the slaw was awesome. I definitely will visit again and recommend it highly. read more

Service was terrible in the middle of the afternoon when the place was empty. Told the waitress soda was flat and replacements never came. Finally went to the bar and my waitress and the other staff walked away. Then carried the flat soda glasses to the bar and stood there like I was invisible. Bar food was average at best. read more

Depending on which bartender you go to depends on how much you will pay for your drink. And when you bring it to their attention they will say it was the other bartenders fault that they charged you wrong. Not a very trustworthy establishment. I suggest keeping your receipts. read more

Slickers has the traditional burgers, pizza, etc. but the food is delicious and the portions are generous. There's a full bar but my husband and generally get a pitcher of sangria. Both white and red are great and full of fruit. Be sure to sit overlooking The Pond, especially at sunset. Slickers has live music on the patio on the weekends. read more

Came here with my girlfriend on a Thursday night. Started off with an artichoke, spinach, and shrimp dip which was to die for. I had the French dip sand which and my girlfriend had the fish sandwich.
