My wife and I stated a hotel around the corner from this place. After long nights of drinking we continued to pop in here every night and have a slice. The guys they were super friendly and just thankful for the business. Two of the nights my wife and I both had a slice of pizza and got a third to split both nights they didn't even charge us for the last slice. I'm not gonna sit here and clean this is the best pizza I've ever had in my life but it was good and for a late night spot right around the corner from our hotel I couldn't ask for something better read more

The pizza is definitely serviceable but for nyc standards is below par. This is a place you go to if you are in the need of a quick slice on the run or need a late night bite to sober up. Other than that I wouldn't suggest this place since nyc is filled with big time pizza places. We tried the stromboli type thing with different meat inside. It was salty but pretty good and something I never tried before. The slice is solid but the sauce lacks real flavor and the crust is a bit dry. Nothing more than 3 stars here. read more

Slice is one of my many late night pizza spots in the city. While I am generally not in that area that often, I do go home in that direction. As others have said, it's not the best slice out there in Manhattan but it is serviceable. I have gotten their chicken bacon ranch and their regular slice. Both decent slices and reasonably priced for Manhattan in my opinion. read more

Not sure what people were expecting when they stepped ínside this place. It is your run of the mill pizza place that hits the spot when you are on the go. This place is not gourmet or anything upscale. It is the Type of place that you get a special deal of 2 plain cheese slices and a soda for $4.99. It's a Basic place to meet the Basic needs required, whether sober or not. No bathroom to speak of but a Nice little spot on a busy street to grab a cool drink (they do have beer available) and eat a pizza, salad or other typical italian fare. read more

My pizza fell apart immediately when I tried to lift and eat. I ordered the Hawaiian straight out of the oven and was so hungry and excited about what was about to happen. Then it happened. Cheese string by cheese string, pineapple chunk then ham slipped off this very thin crusted pizza. It sucked. I was left holding onto a piping hot, chewy, thin and flavorless crust of a pizza with a thin layer of flavorless sauce. The canned pineapple and the ham perched on this flavorless crust added nothing to the meal. It was just a slice of incredibly hot goo.I just paid I think about $4.50 for this evil slice of pizza. For $4.50 dreams can come true. It didn't happen at Slice. There were really no redeeming qualities to this pizza other than that it is right next to the PATH train and it's open late. Other than that, take your business elsewhere because this pizza was not worth the hefty price tag or the calories. **** Maybe the cheese. If times are desperate stick to a slice of cheese and only be a little disappointed. read more

I would say it's okay. Craved a slice of pizza near a friend's house and we somehow ended up here. The place was packed! There wasn't anywhere really available to sit so we had to grab our slices and go out in the chilly NY weather to eat them! The line was a little long but didn't take longer than 10 minutes to place our order and receive it. I had a slice of margherita pizza. It was a thin slice with good sauce to cheese ratio. I would have liked it cooked a little more. I guess I'm used to the coal fired pizza places. read more

Appropriately, as I ate at Slice, the song blaring overhead was Naked Eyes', "Always Something There to Remind Me". I had just walked 2 blocks after taking this picture: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/UI4WuMkAe5CYQqBWAGZoYg?select=rjuX4AJYWB3K3QXhqty0eA Yes, Ray's is closed. Sad day for me and lovers of pizza. I thought replacement pizza would do the trick. More sadness. The white and grandma's slices weren't anything to write about. Slice relies on it's key location for business. I won't be back, but I will hope that Ray's returns in some way, shape or form. read more

Yummy pizza. Fast service and friendly people. Not $1 slices but the 2 extra dollars are worth it for the quality. The Margherita slices are super good. read more

Perfect drunk food as they're open very late. To be clear, I've had this sober and still really good. Drinks and food are all very cheap. Greasy like none other but that just adds to it. Despite all these spot on reviews, I was ravenous, wanted nothing other than pizza, only had 15-minutes to spare, and had no option within those parameters but to see whether all the reviews were true. My issue with Slice isn't their namesake (I actually quite enjoyed their lasagna and buffalo chicken slices); it's the lack of service to match the price tag. I can deal with $4-5 for a quality slice when I'm smack dab between Chelsea and Union Square. I can't deal with an ice cold slice being thrown in an oven, take out literally a minute later, put in a box cold, me having to tell them I refuse to pay for cold pizza, then having them put tons of customer service and quickness into taking my money, and subsequently watching that same pattern happen with EVERY customer, AND them talking/laughing in Spanish whenever someone handed back cold pizza. On top of all that, they confused everyone's order, giving out wrong slices, and then just leaving unclaimed slices on the counter for customers to figure out on their own. Sham of a business that I don't plan to ever give business to again. And really don't recommend that anyone else do. I hate to say it, but this is a place I'd love to see put out of business. read more

Absolutely, positively nothing to write home about. Or, a Yelp review, even. But I'll give you some bullet points! * The slices are thin and crispy but flavorless. * Tomato sauce is...watery? Not sure how. * It's a small space (like most places) but the way they actually use it is infuriating. Even when there are 5 people there it feels packed Basically, if you love pizza - this place is not for you. If you're ok with pizza and just need to grab a slice, this will do. read more

Slice looked like a great alternative to pick up a quick slice late into the night. I walked in and was offerred a slice right off the tray and told that it was warm so it didn't really need warming up.... Accepting this offer was a big mistake and I should have realized it's never a smart move to eat anything with ground beef that has been sitting around at an unknown temperature for an unknown amount of time!! Long story short I was sick for a few days to follow and a return to Slice in the future is highly unlikely. Oh yeah and the actual pizza slice wasn't much to write home about. read more

Every time I go to a cheap pizzeria I get the same thing: 2 slices cheese and a soda. At Slice, this combo costs 4.99 + tax. The pizza was well cooked and the balance between the crust, sauce and cheese was perfect, yet the pizza really left something to be desired: taste. Even though the quantities were right (something many cheap pizzerias struggle with), the pizza was essentially flavorless. The employee who took our order seemed annoyed by our presence, then gave a funny look when we didn't tip. I actually considered leaving a tip in case he decided our pizza would be better with spit. The best part about Slice is eating at one of the tables looking out, people watching on the corner of 14th and 6th, but with a city full of pizzerias, I probably won't be coming back here unless I stumble in drunk on my way home. read more

I had been here a couple of weeks ago after a late night drinking. Slice is such over-priced nonsense. Be prepared to spend $4-5 a slice and that's just for like a basic marinara with mozzarella slice. Obviously a joke. I mistakenly think that I thought that was as close as to cheese as I was going to get at the time. But it's near the train and you're too tired to scavenger around the city for a better option because the f train is shining in gleaming glowing hues of orange that you're tired and want to go home. I don't even like their pizza because its passable ok and not really special. read more

Came here with a so-called "pizza connoisseur" and I gotz me a thin-crust Hawaiian slice. Not enough pineapple pieces and too many dried-out pieces of ham on it. It was ok. Just ok. Why go here when you can go to Joe's a few blocks away? Although their pizza is very good -when fresh- , These guys have no interest in pleasing the customer. Translation-- they will serve slices that are several hours old, rather than make a new pie. I speak from experience. I've been here several times in the evening and asked when the next fresh pies coming out and they say they are not planning on making one. This is only at 9 o'clock. Ridiculous. read more

I always stop here when I'm getting my lashes done. Pizza is perfect and thin with a crunch to it. U can also get two plain slices and a soda for $5 in a busy area. Pizza was AMAZING!! Best pizza I had so far. They also have great soda. I will be back next time in NYC!

Slice was surprisingly good. I usually don't expect much from little corner pizza shops, but these guys do it right. Especially good is their crust, which is the perfect thinness and which they don't char. I hate burned crust and they didn't burn theirs at all. There are just a few tables at which to sit, so it's not a big place. The guys behind the counter were nice. read more

This place piqued my interest on another one of those days when I was trying to get into Red Farm. It looked really cute and smelled amazing so when my cousin was in town on town we decided to hit it up. We started with the antipasti platter which had artichokes, peppers, etc. It was delicious. Then we had the Goat Cheese pizza which was SO good. I haven't had this good of pizza in awhile (not counting the deep fried pizza in the LES). I'm in big trouble now that I know about this place and it's so close. They also had a reasonable craft beer and wine selection and outdoor seating without a wait. Will definitely be back. read more

We went to Slice because they were registered in the gluten free registry as having gluten free pizza. We asked the guy who seated us if all the pizza were available with gluten free crusts he said yes and left us waiting with our menus for like 20 minutes. When he finally came back, we tried to ask if the certain ingredients on the various pizzas were gluten free, and he had no idea. So, we finally ordered something that we knew had to be gluten free, but when he asked him to make it with the gluten free crust, he said that they were out of it. Why the hell didn't the guy who seated us tell us that? We wasted 30 minutes there for nothing... read more

I've been to this place four times already. On my first visit, ordered a margarita slice. Don't remember how that tasted. Second visit, pasta slice. Marveloussss! Not sure if it was extra tasty due to the fact that I was starving. Third visit, hawaiin slice. By this time, I was already pregnant. So I'm not too sure wether my heightened sense of smell and sensitive feeling to being nauseas had anything to do it, but my pizza smelled really musty. Gross. Today, I sit here eating a pasta slice and a beef party. Pasta slice smells musty. Beef patty taste delish. Definitely going to stop coming here for my pizza fix. Might stop in again for a beef patty fix. Btw, the guys will put your order as a priority if you speak Spanish! Lol, so kudos for that. :) read more

It's hard to find a bad slice of pizza. It takes a LOT for me to not like pizza. This place has a simple and great name for an establishment, but that's kind of where the greatness ends. Sigh.... It was okay. I wanted some pizza on my way home so I grabbed a pepperoni and a sausage slice unheated ($8). These damn Manhattan prices for sub par food. Anyway, I heated the slices up when I got home. I like crispy pizza so I placed it directly on the rack. Unfortunately, I had to clean the oven because so much grease dripped off the slice. I also added some chicken sausage I had at home because there wasn't much meat on the slices. It was cheesy but not memorable at all. I won't return. read more

The crust was extremely well done...good chew, crispy, tasty...the kind of crust you eat all of because it's that good. Sauce was exactly as it should be....was tangy and tomatoe-y and not over-slathered. This was an extremely well balanced margherita. It might be that this place is inconsistent given some neg reviews because they seem completely out of synch with our repeated experiences. Inconsistent is not good because you don't know what you're getting. Maybe we've been lucky. read more
