I am beyond furious with this SleePare and I want to save other people the nightmare we've been living since May.
We went into the Tysons Corner store on May 3rd specifically to test the mattresses they sell online. We tried several, and ended up spending over $7,0000 on a Helix Elite mattress, an electric adjustable base, and a headboard. Before we handed over a dime, we asked directly whether we could return the mattress and base if it didn't work out. We were told YES.
We were also told the mattress and electric base would be delivered together, and the headboard -- which was out of stock -- would ship separately once it was ready. Because of this, we were charged for TWO separate deliveries on one order. We were told to expect the mattress and base within 7-10 business days due to the headboard delay. Here's what actually happened, based on our own email confirmations:
* May 4th - Order confirmed, in production.
* May 7th - Headboard shipped to their facility.
* May 8th - Adjustable base shipped to their facility.
* May 10th - Mattress shipped to their facility.
* May 14th - My husband emailed asking for a delivery update. We were told only one product remained to complete the order.
* May 19th - Email stating the platform bed base was "in production" and they would follow up with tracking.
* May 21st - Email stating the base had shipped and was in transit.
* May 25th - We had to contact the store AGAIN asking for an update or to cancel the order. We were told we'd hear back "by end of day." We didn't.
* May 28th - Everything finally arrived -- in ONE delivery, not two, despite being charged for two separate deliveries and being promised the mattress/base weeks earlier.
Not once in this entire three-and-a-half-week period did SleePare proactively call or email us to say anything was delayed. Every single update came because WE chased THEM. We paid for a specific delivery structure and timeline and got neither.
And it gets worse: less than a month after finally receiving the bed, on June 25th, the "brand new" electric base was already dead. Not years down the line. Within THIRTY DAYS of ownership. We called the store, got sent to an email address, sent photos and video like good little customers, and were then told -- after the fact -- that returns don't exist. Only a "one-time exchange," and only after waiting over 30 days to "really try" a mattress attached to a motor that was already broken. The return policy we were promised in-store simply does not exist. We were flat-out misled to close the sale.
Right now, my husband and I are sleeping in our CHILD'S BED because the motor on the base we paid thousands of dollars for died before we even had a full month with it. SleePare's fix? The manufacturer will mail us a remote and a control box and expect us to install it ourselves. We did not buy a self-assembly repair kit. We bought a new bed from a mattress retailer.
On top of that: every single time I called or emailed, I was brushed off or ignored, while my husband got prompt responses to the exact same questions. Every email reply was addressed to him -- not me -- even when I was the one writing. I was made to feel like my voice didn't count unless a man was attached to it. That is not okay, and I will not pretend it didn't happen.
We are still owed a refund tied to the second delivery charge for a delivery that never actually happened separately, and every refund request we've submitted has been flatly denied. Today -- over a week since the base motor failed -- we were told our case has been "forwarded to corporate" and we might hear something by July 4th. Might.
This company takes your money fast, misses its own delivery promises, ships defective products, and then stonewalls you the second something goes wrong. Do not trust the in-store promises. Do not expect a working product. Do not expect to be treated with basic respect if you're a woman calling on your own behalf.
Do not buy from SleePare. read more
