UPDATED to Business: If you read my review, my issues is with the durability of the bed AND the service after. Sleep Number can't separate the sale from the service no matter how hard a store will try. Much like a Toyota dealer can't separate itself from the dealer service it provides to an owner of the vehicle. It doesn't work that way. It's Sleep Number sales & service. Same name. Same company. I'm disappointed in the response to have me "call a number (that I have with no assistance) and to read the fine print." Might as well spend a day reading the fine print on a credit card as well. Sleep Number, don't offer an extended warranty if it isn't a true extended warranty. I'm not sure if this is just a commission driven sales benefit but it certainly wasn't worth the money that was paid for it as a customer. Original Review: Love the bed, not the service. And you WILL need service. We purchased a $10,000 bed from them with all the bells and whistles. A year and a half later, one of the air mattresses developed a leak. $160 and that was with the extended warranty. A year after that, the heating element went out. That is another $160ish. Wouldn't be so bothered had we not purchased the extended warranty. There are all kinds of fine print limitations to it. Think when you buy a number to bumper warranty (you think) only to find out later even basic things aren't covered. Do I love the bed, yes, it's our second one. Here's the update..I received the new parts. While installing, I had connectivity issur noticed that only two of the four lights. After 11/2 with two of their "support team," they told me it was a bad pump and would send out another one. I received that pump and had the same issue. They then stated I would need an IT support team to come out (another $200.). In short, it's so far costing me $1,000 to repair a foot heater on a bed less than 2 years old. Their support people (managers) were RUDE and EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. NEVER DO BUSINESS THIS COMPANY. THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT NOR OS THERE ANY RELIABILITY. Sleep Number mattress is filled with air and it uses hoses and a pump. These are mechanical pieces which will eventually break down. You will need customer service and the customer service is awful. Long hold times. Talking to someone likely off-shore. They charge you for service but you have to pay for the service before they will send technician. So now I'm out $600 and no date for when service will occur. I'm out money, with a deflated mattress, and no idea when someone will come fix the bed. I'm disgusted and don't recommend you buy this bed. They are very expensive out the door, final price does not match what is advertised, and they have no good system to fix what inevitably goes wrong. read more

Let me start by saying we have not decided on a mattress yet. I saw a post on IG about the Presidents' Day sale and 50% off. Knowing we wanted a mattress I entered a few responses and was contacted within 30 minutes or so by a sales rep via phone and text. A couple days later we made it out to check out the mattresses. Mind you we knew little to nothing about mattresses today and are sleeping on a mattress we bought at Big Lots 10 + years ago. The 3 mattresses we tried were all amazing as they should be for those prices. Paul helped us explore the options and he was nice and informative about what they have to offer and did his best to try to stay within a budget. If money was no object we probably would have walked out buying iLE with the flex top flex fit adjustable base but at $9200 it made us realize we need to do some more shopping. It appears their technology is the only such on the market and until we explore alternatives we will not know any different. I know that the costs of everything have gone up and if 8-9K is standard for a nice or really nice new mattress with some pretty cool features then we will soon find out. Both persons Paul and Nancy were nice and informative. The location was convenient near Costco San Dimas and there was plenty of parking. My guess is they are the luxury of mattresses and not the standard or slightly better than standard so we'll look a little more and decide later this month. read more

I ordered a sleep number bed online for the Presidents' Day sale they had going on. When I ordered the bed, the photos all looked like the bed came with a headboard, which after ordering I learned it did not. I showed up to this location to inquire about a head board. After much debate I decided to order one. They had several styles at the store, however I decided on a headboard they did not have available in store with an expected delivery of 2 weeks. The bed arrived 2 days later and after installation, we noticed the headboard would interfere with opening our windows, I tried calling to cancel, but was told no cancellations of the headboard. Really???? I just spent 10K on a bed and you can't cancel the headboard that isn't even shipped yet??? Use the headboard at the store for a display model since you don't even have one available for customers to actually look at. I hope this isn't a sign of future experience with my bed. read more

We're on the market for a new mattress. Sleep number was our first stop in our search. On Yelp, it said it closed at 8pm so we rushed after work and made it by 7pm. However. It appeared closed. The agent explained the correct hours and we were glad the agent Thomas was able to accommodate us and give us a full presentation. We appreciated Thomas professionalism, ability to listen, and willingness to accommodate our preferences. While early in our search, we did find a mattress we are considering. Ultimately, although initially hesitate to come to the store due to the bad reviews. Thomas definitely made the trip worthwhile. Ask for Thomas when you come ! P.s I did ask about return policy. He did not pressure us into buying anything we didn't need and was very friendly and patient with us. He took his time in explaining the difference between pillows and showed us how to use them properly. We bought pillows which were made for our sleeping position. Don't make the same mistake that I did and give them your phone number. I think that a business that blows up your phone daily is harassment. 5 calls/messages in 1 day, really?? On top of that, they kept telling me that this is the last day of their sale only to find out that they have extended it 2 more times... We ended up purchasing our mattress from Ortho Mattress. Beware when buying a bed from this place. My wife went and bought a bed from this place and they told her she can return it within 100 days. Well from the first week I didn't like it and tried to return it and they said you have to break it in so give it some time. After a month or so I was still not happy with the bed and we finally tried to return it. We called customer service and the lady that we got was extremely rude just talking over us. She was explaining that we signed a contract that stated that we could only return the bed but not the frame. Well they didn't explain that to my wife and never even mentioned it when I went in person to try to return it. And so now we are stuck with a 6k bed we don't like because of their disgusting way of selling. and not fully disclosing that you can only return the mattress but not the frame. Ordered new pump that broke 2 weeks ago. UPS has provided no estimate on what day it will arrive. My advice is to buy a mattress that does not have pumps or require computer chips. I Called sleep number but the recording stated callers would be on hold for at least one hour. read more

Mattress - $999 Flex fit base (required for bed) -$1200 Recommended sheet set - $150 Mattress protection pad (required for warranty) - $220 If you are not satisfied with your bed for any reason you can ONLY return the mattress and yes it will cost you an additional $200. That 100 day trial is just to get the product in your door and only applies to the mattress itself. Very misleading. Long story short we ended up with a bed that just was not right for us and not much we can do about it. Tried calling customer service to only get hung up on. read more

The second time we went in we received wonderful customer service and the employees there were all super nice and helpful. We ended up picking a bed that day and I am so excited about it, especially after being educated so thoroughly on what exactly sleep number is. We just purchased our 2nd sleep number bed. We had our first one over 16 years. We upgraded to the i8 adjustable bed. It is wonderful. When you lay down to go to sleep, you just melt into the comfort. The adjustable is great for watching TV and reading. Love the nightlight underneath the bed. Its wonderful to have when you have to get up in the middle of the night. Our salesperson, Talin, was the best. Friendly, helpful. She showed us the big difference between our first sleep number and the one we currently purchased. Highly recommend. Note, they are a little pricey but well worth it. read more

Will never buy a mattress from this company again. I was mislead by their salesman. We were told that we had 90 days to return our mattress if not happy with it but was never told that if we returned it we would be responsible for the hole delivery charges and the pick up charges too which is equivalent to almost $450. We got stuck with a credit card bill and even after disputing it with the company they did not care! Alberto was the salesperson at the time. We bought a split cal king and were told that when it was delivered that the old bed would be removed. It was taken to the front porch and left it there. I recently purchased a twin size adjustable sleep number bed from this store. The mattress part of the bed is repeatedly slipping off of the base (which can be a safety risk). The mattress part is hanging off of the base by 5 or 7 inches. I recently had the company techs come to my home to fix the situation on the 2nd, after a few days it started slipping off the base again. They are scheduled to come out again on the 17th to put a new mattress cover on (which will supposedly help). In the meantime i have pushed a chair up against the bed to try to keep the mattress from falling off further. I keep a walker next to the bed in case I might fall from it. I'm so disappointed that it has not gone well. If we can't fix it next time, I probably won't be able to keep the bed. :( read more

We have a half split king bed and absolutely love it. From day one I sleep better. I called the San Dimas store to see if they had king pillows in stock or if I had to buy them online. Paul answered and told me that they unfortunately, didn't have them in the store. I said thank you and I would purchase it online. He then said that he would be happy to order them for me since I was already on the phone. That is amazing that he would take the time even though I wasn't in the store. I of course said yes. He then was amazing and helped answer my questions about the dual temp system. He was amazing with a lot of knowledge on them. He convinced me to buy them which was def good since I was already on the fence about them. Great service!!! Not sure why they have such lows stars. After reading a bunch of reviews, it seems that most of the issues have nothing to do with the stores service but more with them not reading the fine print or assuming things without verifying them. The worst place to buy a mattress! The sleep number company really sucks! They charge 200 for delivery and give up to 100 days to return the bed if your not happy. But they charge you another 200 to pick it up. And if you buy and adjustable from you can't return that. So your still stuck paying for things your not going to use!!!! read more

Customer service is terrible. I ordered a bed with sheets, mattress pad cover and pillow. Bed arrived today, however the sheets, pad and pillow have been out for delivery three days in a row and still haven't been delivered. I called customer service and the store, apparently it's my problem and once they sell you an item they wash their hands of the whole situation. I am already disappointed and I haven't even slept on the mattress yet. I wanted to delete the transaction and purchase the items and pick them up from the store but was told that can't do anything about it. Right at the two year warranty, the sheets went threadbare. $200 sheets, and they go threadbare in two years? Called customer service, and The operator 1) accuses me of over washing and drying; then 2) explains that since that Model of sheets aren't made any more, they wouldn't be helping me. I explained to her that I needed sheets and that I had to go purchase more, since they are specially sized (and the nice fellow at the store recommended that I call customer service). I decided to visit this store after my doctor recommended an orthopedic pillow due to a recent neck injury from a car accident. And I must admit, before I walked in I was worried no one would understand my pain and sell me a pillow without any concern for my wellbeing. I was proven wrong by Jose when he helped me pick the perfect pillows. I was impressed with his service and patience while I tried out multiple pillows. Very nice and professional person. Don't get a Sleep Number. They came out to see what the problem was. Only after paying the fee. They know all these problems exist but there's nothing they can do to fix it. Staff was friendly customer service was terrible I got my mattress and in one week it had a defect call the company and it took over two weeks for someone to come and check the mattress they did not even have the parts to fix the mattress I am still waiting so I decided to call them and have them pick the mattress up they wanted to charge me $199 to come pick up the mattress you have to be careful because they do not tell you about these fees and this is not right because they did not even fix the mattress end it is a defect I should get all my money back the lady I talked to customer service had an attitude and have to sleep on a mattress that is not what it should be fixed by the way the store manager has no contact with anyone in corporate to be able to help me fix this problem this could've been a good experience but it was not you should really think hard about buying the mattresses and thinking about the fees that they charge to deliver and if the mattress is not right to pick it up. read more
