Comfy bed

Nice stay!! Hurricane Matthew was dumping buckets of rain and a few rooms opened up on line. Was greeted by a FRIENDLY hotel clerk (C.Thomp). Still with a room full of guests waiting to check in she kept cool, smiled, and took care of everyone (nice service). The room was nice, bed comfortable and shower refreshing. The fridge had been left open or broken (couldn't use for food storage). The only thing off was the hallway smelled funky. All and all nice stay and nice service. Would recommend a stay!!! Thankx

Filthy lamp shade

Had to switch rooms because in the 1st room both beds were dirty & one had a cigarette burn in the blanket. The toilet didn't flush. The whole room was disappointing and the whole 2nd floor smells like weed. I'm currently in a different room on another floor which is a slight bit better but still disappointing. The shower head you can tell has never been cleaned. I would not recommend this hotel. I'm in town for an emergency & if I could I would leave & go elsewhere but it's the middle of the night & I already paid.

A cockroach running around my bed

A cockroach running around my bed. After Angela decided to check a walk in that just booked 6 rooms knowing I had my room checked in. All I needed to do was sign a paper get key and leave a transaction of 20 seconds. Instead I waited for her to finish all that. . We are choice premium members at my company and this is just as poor as service gets.

According to cleaning staff, owner will not order replacements for any of the rooms so your TP goes on the floor, gross

Dont be fooled by the pictures. Stayed here while visiting my son who is stationed at Shaw AFB. Very disappointed. The place was dirty grimy from the moment you walked in. The smell was terrible in the halls and room. The room stunk of cigarettes and marijuana, The floor in the room was disgusting, beds were possibly 20+ years old. Surfaces were not cleaned and syrup everywhere, closet had an awful odor, sheets were not clean and fresh, AC barely worked, mold around the window, nothing to hold the toilet paper, the elevator was filthy and never cleaned the whole time we were there, food was not good, pool was horrible with un ruley people trashing it, trash everywhere and I can go on. Very disappointing but made the best of my trip while visiting with my Airman son and seeing the best parts of SC.

Sleep Inn, Sumter, SC chain of Choice Privileges Reward., where you can earn points while you stay. Room accommodation were standard hotel. Room was clean, except it had a funny stale odor egoing immediately once you open the room door. Everything else was in excellent working conditions like the Air Conditioning. , television. , microwave and so forth. Each morning Sleep Inn provides complimentary continental breakfast. Their spread is really nice too accommodation your breakfast options. They also have a waffle maker., choices of hot/cold beverages to three options of juices. Overall decor of this establishment was clean., just had funny odors simply couldn't identify. Staffing was Family-friendly very helpful towards special needs. My only issue is I've stayed here once before back in July and their main Ice machine located in the Lobby was out of order. It's now October.? What's the reason it's still out of order. Overall very convenient stay.

This is by far the nastiest thing i have even encountered in a hotel.

The hotel smelled like smoke everyday i was there and the employees told me that they cannot do anything about it. then when i canceled my next weeks stay they charged me for a day when i did not check in telling me i was obligated to pay for that day. The stay was already prepaid and they now have charged me for an aditional stay when i never even checked in. I have been calling and asking to speak with the hotel manager OR owner and everyday i get the same answers i will pass along your number and they will call you back if they want to. THIS PLACE IS FULL OF STAFF MEMBERS WHO DO NOT CARE ABOUT ANYTHING and the owner seems to either not be in the loop or they them selfs do not care either.

Staff was pleasant, but the condition of our room and common areas leaves much to be desired. There were stains all over the carpets, our daughters' footed pajamas were filthy from less than an hour in the room. There were also stains on the bedding and curtains. Room had an extremely musty smell, probably due to the leaky air conditioner. There was bubbled paint and mold around the air conditioner. The latch on the door was extremely loose, offering no additional security at all. We also noticed an incomplete light fixture inside the shower. All of the above shown in the pictures.

Dirty stains, mold in shower, holes in wall, not even outlet covers on plugs! Don't let the photos on line fool you.

It's an adult community (no children or pets allowed), so it's usually pretty quiet. The staff is courteous and always a pleasure to talk to. They are very knowledgable of the local area, and are very willing to help you, should you ever need anything at all. The manager lives on-site, and is usually very easy to get in contact with. They offer room service once a week where they come in and clean, and change the towels and the linens. Each apartment has a bedroom, a bathroom, and a kitchen/ living area. Apartments are fully furnished- two TVs (one in the living area and on in the bedroom), a full-size fridge/ freezer, a stove/ oven, and a microwave. Should you need plates, glassware, and silverware, the staff will provide some for you. There is a laundry room on site with two washers and two dryers that are coin operated. $1 per wash and $1 per dry. The coin-operated laundry is really my only complaint, because I never seem to have quarters on me. It isn't the fanciest of places, but it has exactly what you need- whether that be for a night, a few days, or like in my case, a few months. And for an affordable price too! I would definitely stay here again.

Peaceful, no noise and management was very helpful with any questions or concerns that I had. House keeping was very consistent with cleaning the rooms and very friendly. If you are looking for an affordable place to stay that is convenient to everything in town definitely stay here. You will not regret it!! Military friendly and great location. Ask for Greg the manager!

The Hyatt won by default due to the word roach being mentioned in a review for the other hotel I was eyeing. This location is located in downtown Sumter on Main street. It's a newer hotel built in 2018, the first of the Hyatt branded hotels built in the city of Sumter. You can tell they are trying to revitalize the area. There are a few niche stores and restaurants within walking distance. Other than that I wouldn't stray too far away from the hotel especially not a night. We checked in on a Thursday evening. The staff was professional and friendly. I assumed breakfast was included with the room since at Hyatt Place it usually is and the last time my husband stayed at this location it was included. The lady behind the counter communicated that as of the prior Monday they no longer included breakfast with your stay unless you purchased a room with it added on or they could add it for $8 per person. I declined the breakfast which is over at 9:30am. I would never make it to eat that early and frankly the room rate is over priced if it does not include breakfast but I digress. Parking is located on the side of the hotel in both a garage and in the parking lot with a guest pass. I saw police patrolling the area so I felt safe. There is a side entrance into the hotel accessible with a room key. The hotel was very clean and had a pleasant smell. I always wipe everything down when staying at a hotel first and found our room to be super clean. A refrigerator is in each room and a microwave is on each floor in front of the elevator. My only issue with my stay was the water pressure in the shower was low and the water was luke warm to coldish our entire stay. Overall we had a pleasant experience, I would most likely stay here again while in town.

Upon checking in and inquiring, I was told to use my hot spot on my phone for my internet needs. Issues arise....yes, but to not notify reservation customers in advance who are here to conduct business is a HUGE mistake. I stayed on the 3rd floor and unfortunately it sounded like there was a tap dancing recital happening above me. The term paper thin walls has been thrown around a lot. But that term is far too generous for this establishment, it was that bad. The blackout blinds are electronically operated. However my blinds were malfunctioning and had to be pressed individually over and over to lower the blinds fully instead of holding the button. It took 11 minutes to lower a single blind in the room. Water pressure is an opinion based item but the shower pressure was negligible at best. The staff was incredibly friendly and polite (+1 star) Very very disappointed in this establishment. With so many other establishments to choose from, I wouldn't be eager to return here.

While waiting the 30-plus minutes just to check-in, I visited the lobby restroom that looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Feces and urine littered the bowl and seat. And also speaking to 'haven't been cleaned,' on the motel/hotel's approach, we were met with overfilled garbages cans that ornamented the front of the structure. Now back to the 30-plus minute wait... As we arrived at 3:00pm, we witnessed a very long line of customers waiting to check-in. The manger (not sure of his name... but I can describe him as being of East-Indian descent), looked on as a single hotel counter clerk struggled to check-in guests. (We were told) This was amid having to answer the phones , navigate broken equipment and wait for uncleaned rooms to become available. When I confronted the manager politely about the delay and his lack of assertiveness to help quell the gripes and concerns of the guests, he told me: "what I'm doing has nothing to do with your business." The hotel clerk informed us that: the manager doesn't know how to operate the check-in equipment. After remaining on the line, with no hopes in sight of getting to our rooms -- and after viewing photos from a guest (also on the line) who had recently checked-in and found her room to have urine on the bathroom floor and bed with sheets that appeared as if they hadn't been changed, we left and sorted out another lodging situation. Avoid this place at al costs!!!!

DO NOT STAY HERE!…read more This hotel should be shut down and is a health hazard! The hotel room was dirty and disgusting! There was pubic hair all over the restroom toilet and hair over the sink. The shampoo and conditioner bottles were dirty/used and not replaced. The tub was dirty. There was a white substance on the bed that looked like dried sperm. There was hair on the bed. The television did not work nor did the refrigerator work. I don't understand how this place is still in operation? A complaint was filed with the front desk, and we have yet to hear from management. Do not waist your time, or money staying here and more importantly do not risk your health staying at this place. My next step is to contact the health department because this place is a hazard to all. They clearly do not care about the COVID pandemic because the bathroom was not cleaned. I have pictures attached below.
