    Best beds ever- clean room!!
    Kevin Y.

As most of my reviews for Hampton's, again very happy with the cleanliness, the great staff, good breakfast early and comfy beds. The beds in Hampton Inns if not already a best kept secret are the best! Layers of comfort, lots of pillows, missed many appointments because I chose to sleep in one more hour and blame traffic.... ( hope my boss doesn't read this). Table lamps with USB and power ports make laptop work easy laying in bed and charging all my Apple devices ( thanks Steve Jobs!). Lots of food nearby this location so will be staying when working this side of town. Highly recommend

I came to Sumter for a week and am a Hilton Honors member. This hotel is very clean and the staff is very nice. They have a decent sized refrigerator and microwave. The hotel is next door to a Waffle House. Other dining places near by are Firehouse Subs, Chipotle, and Arby's. The gym is very tiny, one elliptical, one bike, and one treadmill. The weather was to cold to use the pool. There is only one washer and dryer for $2.50 each load. There are also ice machines and drink machines on each floor. I would recommend this hotel.

My family enjoying our comfortable, quiet, evening.

I frequent Hilton chain hotels because my stays are always welcoming. This particular hotel was just as enjoyable! Our stay was very pleasant and met my expectations as a Hilton property usually does. I traveled with my children, and as always at Hampton Inn, they were treated with dignity and patience. The housekeeping staff were incredibly accommodating, friendly, & sincere. I was politely given each item I requested, met with a smile. My room was spotless! No dust, unkempt walls, or stained flooring. Parking was sufficient for mid-week, and location was convenient. I will continue being a guest with Hilton properties for these very reasons.

    Water damage on ceiling.

I have stayed in Hampton Inn in many states. This one is old and does not live up to the national brand standard. Desk people were friendly and kind as they provided me with a complimentary can of fabreeze to mask the dankness!

Nasty and had bedbugs! I went home and washed all my suitcase, my clothes and showered, thankfully I did not bring problem home!

It's an adult community (no children or pets allowed), so it's usually pretty quiet. The staff is courteous and always a pleasure to talk to. They are very knowledgable of the local area, and are very willing to help you, should you ever need anything at all. The manager lives on-site, and is usually very easy to get in contact with. They offer room service once a week where they come in and clean, and change the towels and the linens. Each apartment has a bedroom, a bathroom, and a kitchen/ living area. Apartments are fully furnished- two TVs (one in the living area and on in the bedroom), a full-size fridge/ freezer, a stove/ oven, and a microwave. Should you need plates, glassware, and silverware, the staff will provide some for you. There is a laundry room on site with two washers and two dryers that are coin operated. $1 per wash and $1 per dry. The coin-operated laundry is really my only complaint, because I never seem to have quarters on me. It isn't the fanciest of places, but it has exactly what you need- whether that be for a night, a few days, or like in my case, a few months. And for an affordable price too! I would definitely stay here again.

The Hyatt won by default due to the word roach being mentioned in a review for the other hotel I was eyeing. This location is located in downtown Sumter on Main street. It's a newer hotel built in 2018, the first of the Hyatt branded hotels built in the city of Sumter. You can tell they are trying to revitalize the area. There are a few niche stores and restaurants within walking distance. Other than that I wouldn't stray too far away from the hotel especially not a night. We checked in on a Thursday evening. The staff was professional and friendly. I assumed breakfast was included with the room since at Hyatt Place it usually is and the last time my husband stayed at this location it was included. The lady behind the counter communicated that as of the prior Monday they no longer included breakfast with your stay unless you purchased a room with it added on or they could add it for $8 per person. I declined the breakfast which is over at 9:30am. I would never make it to eat that early and frankly the room rate is over priced if it does not include breakfast but I digress. Parking is located on the side of the hotel in both a garage and in the parking lot with a guest pass. I saw police patrolling the area so I felt safe. There is a side entrance into the hotel accessible with a room key. The hotel was very clean and had a pleasant smell. I always wipe everything down when staying at a hotel first and found our room to be super clean. A refrigerator is in each room and a microwave is on each floor in front of the elevator. My only issue with my stay was the water pressure in the shower was low and the water was luke warm to coldish our entire stay. Overall we had a pleasant experience, I would most likely stay here again while in town.

Housekeeping saw me trying to open my door with my hands full, and she came from a different hallway to help me. That's the employees I would want too. The location is in the heart of Sumter. Always something going on down here. There was a car show two blocks away yesterday. We didn't hear any road noise while trying to sleep. This was much better than when we stayed in the hotels off the highway. We will be back.

While waiting the 30-plus minutes just to check-in, I visited the lobby restroom that looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Feces and urine littered the bowl and seat. And also speaking to 'haven't been cleaned,' on the motel/hotel's approach, we were met with overfilled garbages cans that ornamented the front of the structure. Now back to the 30-plus minute wait... As we arrived at 3:00pm, we witnessed a very long line of customers waiting to check-in. The manger (not sure of his name... but I can describe him as being of East-Indian descent), looked on as a single hotel counter clerk struggled to check-in guests. (We were told) This was amid having to answer the phones , navigate broken equipment and wait for uncleaned rooms to become available. When I confronted the manager politely about the delay and his lack of assertiveness to help quell the gripes and concerns of the guests, he told me: "what I'm doing has nothing to do with your business." The hotel clerk informed us that: the manager doesn't know how to operate the check-in equipment. After remaining on the line, with no hopes in sight of getting to our rooms -- and after viewing photos from a guest (also on the line) who had recently checked-in and found her room to have urine on the bathroom floor and bed with sheets that appeared as if they hadn't been changed, we left and sorted out another lodging situation. Avoid this place at al costs!!!!

Only reason we stayed was because it was already late into the evening and after driving 10 hours, I needed to stop. Oh yeah, only 1 shower towel. I'm sorry I didn't read the reviews but I trusted the brand. My lesson learned. *** Edit*** Spoke to China on the way out. She was nice and explained they are transitioning.
