Buyers beware Sleep Ezzz Mattress Express are a 100% rip off.. Wednesday, August 22, 2018, My wife and I stopped in to look at beds at Sleep Ezzz Mattress Express. She asked a few questions and laid on a few then decided to purchase one. The bed and a few accessories came to $1010.00. She gave the a man $1060.00. Not knowing that 2 $50 bills were stuck together. As the man behind the counter started to count out the money he said I think there is an extra $50. I spoke up and said well that's really good & hard to find now a days honesty. He chuckled and said that's why I've been in business for 30 years. We were gone for about an hour & returned to the store. We got back into the store and exchanged pleasantries. I then said to him we have a bit of bad news. I told him we'd like to cancel the order and we would like our money back. The man was like Dr. Jekyll Mr. Hyde... He threw his hands up in the air and said oh we can't do anything for you all sales are final. He then said you must of went somewhere else and found a better deal. He said I've been doing this for 30 years and I've heard every excuse in the book. He says all buyers are liars, I said I have nothing to lie about. I was shocked to see the change in this man in a matter of seconds. He said I can't do anything for you until next week sometime. The owner of the place lives in the United States & has all the codes for returns. I said that's fine we'll just sit here while you make the phone call. I said I don't want to leave without my money something doesn't sound right. He pointed at the receipt and said look it says in small print all sales are final. I said yes I understand that but we were only gone for an hour. He said this sounds way too fishy you went somewhere & got a better deal. By this time going back-and-forth I was starting to get upset. we went to the car, A few more minutes past and the old gentleman came out of the store heading in our direction. He said well I made a few phone calls got a hold of the man's daughter and he's willing to give you $900 back He threw his arms up in the air and said that's the best we can do take it or leave it. He opened the drawer where our money was still sitting took off $110 and threw the rest on the counter. My wife begin to count it and of course it was $900 She took it and put it in your purse I said you should be ashamed of yourself. To take $110 from us for doing nothing. I came in and I'm blowing air and you're charging me $110 He said like I told you before all buyers are liars, I've been in this business too long & I've heard everything he said you should be thankful you're getting $900 back I could've taken 25%... I told him no where in your store do I see a sign that says all sales are final. He said it's on your receipt in the small print if you would just read it. I said I get that I understand. My wife works down the street at a big box store called Walmart. I said you know people have always complained about big box stores doing everybody wrong. But you know something they treat their customers right. They don't care what you bring back, if you have a receipt they give you 100% of your return. If there's no receipt they will give you a store credit. Because the big box store remembers one thing. The customer is always right. Hallelujah for the big box stores. You should be thankful you got your $900 I didn't have to do that. Again he throws it in my face all buyers are liars. I said well you need to put a sign up in your store somewhere on your window stating that all sales are final. Everybody in business does this he says. I said no they don't I said the customer is always right go down to the store buy something at Walmart leave it for an hour come back and get your full refund no questions asked. 100% each & everytime. I said I'm not done, he said call a cop call who ever I'm right & your wrong. I said not everybody is dishonest again he says all buyers are liars. This place & how they treat people is uncalled for. They need a course on how to treat their customers.... We left very disgusted & shocked. I lost sleep over this $110 loss. I miss the days of the customer is always right no matter what. Don't shop here the owner Steve L. is a complete disgrace to any small business owner! He sold us a top of the line Sealy mattress with the wrong box spring and after the mattress failed pulled the warranty card out and won't replace the mattress because "we" had the wrong box spring! The same owner owns all three locations around South Western Ontario so beware of just going to either Waterloo or Cambridge. Also beware that any bed over a Twin must have a middle support regardless of the bed frame construction according to the same warranty another BS remark they made to us as our frame is steel and has not sagged an inch after having it for over twenty years! read more

We were told by the sales guy that a deposit could be refunded if we changed our mind for a deposit we put down on a mattress. We went to the Sleep Ezzz on March 28/13. The sales guy Mike assured us when speaking about the mattress we were interested in that if we changed our mind the deposit was refundable as we were not 100% sure about the purchase. We put $200 debit deposit down on a ECO-4410 queen size mattress, the sales guy Mike also threw in a fame and mattress protector to entice us as we were unsure of the purchase. When we stated we would think about it, he threw in the mattress protector and also the frame. He even went into detail to tell us that he would not be in Saturday if we changed our mind because it was his wife's birthday. We went in the Saturday to speak with another sales guy, he said they do not do refunds, we were shocked, we stated we did not want the bed delivered on Monday and said we would be back in on Monday to talk to Mike. The sales guy said he would leave a note to cancel the delivery and that we would be in to speak with Mike. My girlfriend went in on Monday April 1st 2013 to speak with Mike, he demeanor had changed completely, he was rude, bullying her, raising his voice and scolding her, pointing his finger. Said he gave her a good deal, that she shouldn't have gone to competition to buy another mattress. My girlfriend stated it wasn't because we had bought another mattress elsewhere, it was because we had a lot of expenses coming out as we just moved into our house. He stated the refund could only have happened the Thursday March 28th 2013. My girlfriend stated this was not what was discussed or "promissed" when he was selling the mattress on March 28/13. My girlfriend left visibly upset. She got the name of the owner Steve who I called to explain the situation. I tried to calmly explain what his sales guy Mike had said, the owner was just as rude and raising his voice even though I remained calm, stating "take me to court, file a complaint with the BBB...I don't care". I managed to get him to agree to refunding $100 of the $200 debit deposit. My girlfriend returned to the store with the mattress protector to get the $100 refund and the sales guy Mike verbally assulted her again stating "he didn't need this" and she got a good deal, so much of a good deal that his manager was upset with him for letting a mattress, mattress protector and frame go for $999 all in. She said if he got in trouble so badly and we wanted out of the deal and was verbally promissed that when we were there, why not just refund the deposit and be ethical about the whole situation. My girlfriend stated "why would we put a deposit down on a bed that was not refundable" it makes no sense. She asked if the deposit was "not refundable" why wouldn't he have said so when we were there on March 28th 2013 as oppossed to saying it was refundable...because again when we were there, he stated the complete opposite.
