MATTRESS SAGA Buying a mattress should be easy. Just look around Los Angeles and you will find more mattress shops than you can imagine. Alas...my new mattress plan turned into an unpleasant month-long saga. Happily, this tale has a happy ending. Read on. I did my research and quickly found that Amazon had the exact mattress I wanted: Nectar Hybrid Queen 12" mattress. The price was competitive and they provided "white glove" service gratis. A mattress, Amazon...what could go wrong? In a word, everything. The first delivery went well. Except, as the truck pulled away, I noticed that they had brought the wrong size - a Full instead of a Queen. Since the package had been opened, Amazon couldn't take it back, so I donated it. Ten days later, the Prime truck arrived and before the men were about to carry the box upstairs, I noticed the word KING. Yes. They brought a King instead of a Queen. Bye bye second wrong mattress. Even Customer Rep was shocked. Another ten days, delivery day arrived and I felt confident. Lightning seldom strikes twice, let alone three times, but there it was - an email from Amazon, declaring the mattress had run into delivery issues and they had no idea when I would receive the mattress. Several frustrating calls to Customer Service and Amazon Logistics and I was done. The internet is a big place and yet luck was finally on my side. The first store that showed up on my computer monitor was Sleep Cycle Mattress in Torrance. I wrote a succinct, no-nonsense email: "do you have a Nectar, Hybrid, Queen, 12 mattress and can I have it by tomorrow? Incredibly, the owner immediately responded with "yes and we can have it to your home in Santa Monica tomorrow by 4:30." Seriously?! I met Kevin (Barkiev) Jarliekian, the owner, at 10:30 on Saturday morning. The showroom was impressive but more importantly, Kevin was a most welcoming, no-nonsense gentleman. He quickly led me to my mattress and had me try it out. Minutes later while he was writing up the invoice, we chatted easily and the showroom started filling up with his friendly, professional staff as their day begun. A half hour later, when I was in my car heading back to Santa Monica, my phone rang. It was Joe from Sleep Cycle, letting me know that he was in the delivery truck and would be at my home in 35 minutes. Seriously? I arrived home 5 minutes before the truck showed up and within 15 minutes, Joe and his partner had come and gone, having set up the mattress, removed the packaging and without scraping my newly painted walls and staircase. A half hour later, I received an email from Amazon about the order I had actually cancelled before heading to Sleep Cycle - it was to inform me that the delivery was pending and they were unable to provide a definitive day or time. And the beat goes on. Do yourself a favor. When you or anyone you know is in the market to buy a new mattress, don't bother to research and compare. Head for Sleep Cycle and speak with Kevin. You'll save yourself a lot of conversations from disinterested sellers of mattresses and Kevin's team with reward you with a good night's sleep. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. read more

Kevin was excellent to work with. He gave me the education I needed to separate soft, medium, firm, and hybrid mattresses. In addition, he pointed out the unique features of the special mattresses. After two trips in one week, we walked out with one of 14 floor models that were on sale from Memorial Weekend. In one week, we went from being unsure of what to buy to having a bed purchased and delivered from Mattress Cycle. I'm relieved that I no longer needed to decipher fancy terminology online, and took it to the sleep cycle store instead. read more

Great service and more importantly I believe in supporting local businesses. Delivery right to where it needs to go without an attitude. I really appreciate the whole experience. read more

My neighbor bought mattresses from here only to have sunk in after like 2 years. This is the second time that this has happened and now I can't get in touch with no one. I call the number only to get a voicemail prompt. The 10 year protection plan I bought seemed to have not helped. read more

Went there this morning bc they carry a particular mattress I wanted to try. Got there right when they opened, Walked in, all around both sides of weird store and laid on a bunch of beds -- not one employee around. Finally saw someone. Turned out he was a delivery guy. I asked who's in charge, hmmm -- he said he should be there any minute. I tested about every bed (they all seemed dirty and old). By now, the store had been open 20 minutes, no manager/salesperson was there and I left. Very strange experience. I won't go back. read more

My wife and I walked into Sleep Cycle Mattresses just to try some other mattresses we had heard about and were determined to buy a Sleep by Number mattress. We met Kevin who patiently took us through a variety of mattresses, giving us all the pros and cons, and allowing us to take our time with absolutely no "hard sell." By the time we were done, we fell in love with a Tempur-Pedic adjustable mattress and bought a set, all because of Kevin's demeanor, knowledge and passion for finding us the best bed, not knowing if he would actually make a sale or not. In the end, the Tempur-Pedic was very affordable and we can't wait to try out our new bed. I highly recommend Sleep Cycle Mattress and the very knowledgable Kevin! read more

Wonderful customer service. You can really tell the owner takes pride in what they do. Sleep Cycle was able to demystify the mattress buying process for a first time buyer. Our mattress should be here in about a week's time now and we are so excited. Great service. They really try and work with you. read more

The worst place to but a matress, they just want your money. No guidance on choices we got a very expensive set of King size matresses with electric bases. I feel my bed is of Stone. We got these right before my open heart surgery and my husband has Parkinsons. I wanted to exchange my matress for it is way too hard. No options given to me. The only option os to but a new one. We paíd more than $7,000.00 and the only option they gave me is to but a new one (this is a tween size matresd. 1 of 2) for mor than $1,000.00. I have has this for less than a year. I was in desperate need to buy a bed that would make my recovery less difficult after I was told I needed an emergency surgery. I deeply regret having come to this place. read more

Sleep Cycle Mattress - Mattresses Near Me - Torrance, California

This place is great! We wanted a Sterns and Foster mattress, and they were able to give us a great price. The delivery was smooth, and Charbel was very helpful throughout the whole time. We were going back and forth in deciding if we wanted to purchase the mattress from Macy's or this shop, and in the end this shop was able to give us a slightly better deal. We need another mattress soon for one of our kids and I plan to visit this shop again. read more

I called around to multiple mattress stores in the area to get a price on a full size mattress for my kids' bunk bed. I spoke to Hank over the phone and he took the time to answer all of my questions and make me feel like a valued customer. After speaking to 6 other mattress stores I went to sleep cycle to make my final purchase. Sleep Cycle Mattress had the best price out of all the places I called and free delivery with no minimum! Every other place had a $500 minimum for free delivery which is insane! I paid for the mattress in the store today and I am expecting delivery tomorrow! What a great turn around time! Thanks Hank! read more

5 stars all around at this place!!! I did not feel rushed, pressured or obligated to buy anything. With that said I was so pleased with the service, knowledge and expertise of the staff at this store that I ended up purchasing a Tempur Pedic Cali King for my wife and I. Hands down best mattress buying experience I have ever had. A True pleasure doing business with these gentleman. Thanks again Guys!!! PS I came here because of the other great reviews I read about this place on Yelp and google reviews. read more

This place was way better than the other mattress stores we tried. The staff was friendly, the mattress options were great, and we ended up with a Sealy pillow top for a solid price. We compared with Mattress Firm and Ortho Mattress where we did not have good experiences and came BACK to Sleep Cycle. It just had better options, a nicer atmosphere, free delivery, nice pillow options, and a quality mattress. Hank took time to explain the differences between the various Sealy pillow top mattresses they offer, and showed us how they were different than some of the Sealy mattresses we saw online when looking for reviews. He was funny and helpful and took the stress out of picking the right mattress. We tried a Nectar mattress online and it was a DISASTER. After two months there were permanent indentations and it was so warm to sleep on. Don't underestimate the power of laying down on the mattress first. read more

Coming in I was having an anxiety about purchasing a bed .But when I came in here ,I was immediately put at ease when I spoke with Charbel.I felt no pressure to buy and he listened to my wants and needs and was able to point me in the direction of a bed that I felt comfortable in when I laid down even suggested I lay on my stomach since that is the way I normally sleep .Very professional and I even got a headboard for my bed cause the price was half off for Presidents Day sale for the mattress . Thank You Charbel for helping us out I cant wait for our bed to get here... read more

We are BEYOND happy with not only our purchase from Sleep cycle, but the customer service as well. Charbel went above and beyond in providing us with help, including telling us about each mattress we were interested in, and also being honest about what we should get to possibly save a little extra money. We came in on a Monday, and left pretty convinced we would come back but wanted to check out other places and think about which mattress we really wanted. Two days later, we came back, and after an hour, made our purchase of a King sized Proadapt tempurpedic. Charbel was so helpful, knowledgeable, and patient with us. We are very happy! I will always reccommend this mattress store to everyone. THANK YOU! read more

After months of knowing our mattress was crap and a week straight of waking up in pain, I planned for a day of shopping around for mattresses. Sleep Cycle was first on our list. We tried not to get attached to anything so that we could look around at more stores, but Charbel drives a hard bargain!! Besides offering us an incredible price on a Seely ($350 less than I spent on our crappy Beauty Rest THREE years ago!), he had amazing customer service! We picked our our Seely and then let us chill out on the Tempur-pedic while he got us coffee. We thought he was going in back but he went across the street to 7-11!! How incredible is that?! In the meantime we sold ourselves on the Tempur-pedic. He was able to solve every issue we could think of! He threw in sheets. 0% financing. Pillows. AND, hold on to your seat...he gave us a loaner bed for 2 weeks while we waited for this bed to be made and shipped so that I wouldn't have to wake up in pain another morning!! How incredible is that!! We had no need to go anywhere else. This is the place for great prices and INCREDIBLE customer service! I wish more places had people like Charbel! Thank you Charbel/Sleep Cycle! read more

We went to sleep cycle to look at beds and we were presently surprised! They were so helpful and took their time showing us all of the different options!! Due to covid I was skeptical on even stepping into a mattress store but the facility was extremely clean and they used disposable paper for us to lay on which was nice! We found the perfect bed at a wonderful price!!! We got such a great deal on our new King mattress and box springs... Did I mention he gave us a FREE water proof mattress cover, FREE delivery and disposed of our old set!!! Delivery went as expected... the 2 men showed up on time and followed all covid protocols and worked fast to get our old set out and our new bed set up... I highly suggest this store if you are looking for a new bed!!! I definitely will be back when I re do the kids bedrooms and need more mattresses!! We had a great experience at Sleep Cycle. Serko helped us! He spent time listening to our needs and then showing us all the mattresses that fit our needs. My gf and I went in looking to just buy a $400 mattress. Charlie was so knowledgeable and accommodating. We ended up testing out other mattresses and had to admit we were too concerned with price over quality. We decided on a Tempurpedic. They have a wonderful finance plan that is very fair. We did not feel pressured for a second. Charlie was incredibly patient and supportive. He went above and beyond to make the transition easy and smooth. They picked up and disposed of our mattress for us. They let us use a loaner mattress while we waited a couple weeks for our Tempurpedic. Didn't charge us for it. The delivery guys were professional, respectful and efficient. The mattress is perfect and we both had the best sleep we've had in a long time. It's not worth saving money on an ok mattress. The zero G function on the Tempurpedic lifts the stress off of all my joints and the firmness is perfect. Thanks Charlie!!! I'm telling all of my friends to shop here. read more

The $1200 mattress we just got is great but it was so thick that it was so tall with my bed frame and box spring I can't even get into it. I called to ask if they could trade out the box springs for a 2 inch bunkie board which the delivery guy initially said they could do with no problem. The guy that answered was rude and acted like we were lucky we got a discount to begin with. He said we would have to pay $200 for them to do what the other guy said would be no problem. I should have just got a mattress online. read more

We recently bought a Tempur Probreeze mattress with a Tempur-Ergo Extend electric adjusting frame from Sleep Cycle. We had looked around a few stores and had stopped here to checkout both their selection and prices. Their selection is great and the prices are competitive. Charbel, our sales person was both friendly and very knowledgeable. We got exactly what we wanted and it was delivered at the day and time they told us. Don't buy a mattress before you stop here. I admit, this is a review that is long overdue. All of this was pre-COVID. With that said: First, I have to give a special thanks to Hank for taking the time to show me and my wife ALL the options in the store and being patient enough to answer all our questions (and letting us lay down on all the mattresses) -- without any of the usual high pressure sales pitches of other mattress stores. We were looking to purchase the first "big boy and big girl" twin mattresses for our kids and we originally shopped at all the big box stores (Sears, Macys, Amazon, Target, etc.). We found Sleep Cycle on Yelp and decided to give it a try -- and we are so glad we did! The range and quality of their products was (in our opinion) far better than the thin and springly "kids" mattresses sold at the other stores we were looking at. We ended up settling on a firm foam mattress (custom made here in the USA) out of organic materials. The kids LOVE their new beds (and sleep like logs)! Plus the mattresses didn't have that strange "chemical" smell that sometimes comes with the "mattress in a box" sets you find elsewhere. And the "out the door cost" of two twin mattresses with delivery included was less than $500! In short, if you are in the market for a new mattress you MUST give Hank and Sleep Cycle mattress a shot. You can thank me later! ;) read more
