I thought the setting was wonderful it was possible to see for miles around. I was pleasently surprised how much this place had to offer as if all that icecream and cakes wasn't enough for you there is also animals which includes donkeys, rabbits, goats, geese, and of course cows and a playground and mini golf. Yes there is mini golf with the most amazing views of West Yorkshire The icecream was simply delicious I have to admit it was difficult to decide from all the yummy flavours 24 in total lucky that it is possible to have scoops of different ones together in one tub. Also they sell large tubs to take away and store in your freezer. It is possible to eat inside the cafe or the is seating outside which is lovely on a nice day. We went on a saturday afternoon and it was busy this little spot seems very popular. Parking was free I suggest visiting the website for a map and details of how to find the place.

It…read moreprovides a welcome break after a long walk along the promeade because you can wind down in this lovely cafe whether it is to sip a mug of coffee, slurp on a luscious sundae or bite on a toasted sandwich. Most strikingly through their window, you'll easily see that their speciality is selling beautiful ice cream for your delights (at a cost)! However, you'll find a generous variety of flavours to make your mouth water. My favourite has to be Pistachio, which I found to be just as good as the one I had in Venice. Certainly worth the money if you enjoy it! As well as ice cream and hot drinks, they strangely combine their sweet business by offering a selection of savoury snacks, such as breakfast butties and soups with rolls. These dishes are are a bit pricey but when you consider it's prime location and fine dining experience, it is second to none. All this makes Rich's such a tempting place to visit and why not on a gorgeous day. "I scream, You scream, We All scream for ice cream!"

Although, saying that, 'geleteria' does sound a bit exotic and unusual, doesn't it? It does sound more enticing than 'ice cream shop' though, so I can see why they'd use that instead. Rich's is primarily a nice little café at the quieter end of Lord Street which offers its customers a pleasant atmosphere in a reasonably-sized area that gives shoppers the chance to take the weight of their feet and have a hot drink and a sandwich or light snack. However, where Rich's really excels is in its range of desserts. As their sign says, Rich's sells ice cream in a variety of flavours and colours, meaning even the fussiest person could find a flavour to suit their tastes (I usually play safe and stick to chocolate myself, but each to their own). Their dessert menu also features a selection of homemade delicacies such as sundaes and huge chocolate éclairs which at three quid are pretty expensive but are definitely worth it, as my éclair-loving friend will testify.

Delighted because Ice Cream…read moredoesn't get better than Holdens yet saddened because it's April and I should be able to eat Ice Cream every day out in the sun by now and it's bloody raining.. Ahhh the good old north west ey! Anyhow, back to this creamy genius: Holdens Ice Cream is a staple of any Bolton childhood and it remains my favourite ice cream to this day at the grand old age of 24. I can still remember the days when my grandma would take me up to Edgworth on a summers day to eat gallons of Ice Cream and play on the park for what seemed like 10 minutes but likely was closer to 5 hours - it literally is a taste of summer for me! In recent years, the family of the inventor have rebranded the Ice Cream and started to introduce a whole range of flavours where previously it was just vanilla. You can get all sorts, like pistachio, strawberry and about 15 other fruity combinations, but for me its always the original, and it always will be! If you're in these parts for a nice walk or watching the local football/cricket - definitely brave the queues and grab yourself some of the best homemade Ice Cream around!

I am 45 now and Holdens would be a place I would frequently visit with my mum and then stepdad 30 years ago. In my former years I have often tried new ice creams in search of that flavour and nothing comes close,to me the vanilla is unique and something I could never get enough of, I would HIGHLY recommend to any ice cream connoisseur

It's no secret that I love ice cream. Who doesn't? Ice cream is brilliant. As far as I can tell,…read moregood ice cream can only get better when the ice cream factory and parlour also own the herd of pedigree Guernsey cows that provide the milk and cream. That's how things are done at Brymor. While you can buy Brymor ice cream in a lot of places in Yorkshire I have a soft spot for their parlour at High Jervaulx which I've been coming to since I was a little girl. They specialise in super creamy ice cream, mostly with traditional flavours (no Oreo here, but you'll get rum and raisin) as well as some sorbets. You can have cones or pots, or you can choose one of the indulgent sundaes. They have plenty of space and you can sit in the cafe or buy cartons of ice cream to take home. They also have play areas for children. They sell gifts and cards as well as a few non-ice cream items like milk and cream from the Guernsey herd and local cheese and honey.

You can choose from nice waffle cones or tubs. Loads of seating space and free wifi (although it didn't work when I visited).

Oh, Lordy. The…read moretraffic was awful, and I'd spotted this place on the way to work, so it was just too tempting on a hot day on the way home. It's adorable- all big trees and cobbles, and the most enormous goat I've ever seen in my life. Everything was planted up pretty, and little old guys scooting up on their mopeds for a scoop. I'm 99% sure this is the best ice cream in the land. You can choose from so many flavours, I had fanuttytastic and carrot cake, the latter was particularly exceptional, but I was also tempted by the white mountain, the banana, the Turkish delight, the sloe and damson gin, the elderflower and rhubarb and the maple and walnut- so I'll just have to come back, won't I?

ERMAHGERD this ice cream is amazing!…read more Seriously, Snugbury's is a one of a kind place. A small little farm-style set up with an onsite creamery and a shop selling no less than fourty, YES - FOUR-ZERO - flavours of ice cream and frozen yogurt. Once you've made your decision you can plonk yourself on the numerous benches or prostrate on the garden lawn (if you overdo it on the cream) and there is also a short country walk if you'd prefer to burn off some of your sugar intake. Every flavour is churned on site and given a suitably cheeky name (think B&J pre-Unilever). They also have seasonal limited editions like Summer Pimms and have previously partnered with a local Cheshire bakery for an apple pie ensemble (with whole apple pie churned into it!). In the interest of research (and gluttony) I opted for the double scoop, one of 'Driving me Cherries', a rich chocolatey flavour packed full of juicy fresh black cherries, topped off with the creamiest coconut ice cream I have ever tasted. Most importantly they give good cone - if you're a selling me an ice cream in a wafer cone, then frankly you can shove your wafer where the sun don't shine! I want a cone of equal calorific value to its contents and Snugberry's deliver with their crisp and sugary waffle cones. A right proper handful. Tactical ice cream tip: the servers are real pro's with their scoopage, filling the cone completely. So if you are going to get a double scoop ask for your favourite flavour first to get the most of it. Am I over thinking this? Possibly. Do I care? Not a chance.
