My wife, mother and 13 year old daughter attended a murder mystery dinner at the Hilton Double Tree…read moreon 11/02/24. When we arrived I ordered a round of drinks. The bartender, Lisa, asked if I wanted to keep the tab open so that if I wanted to step out during the show and order another round the sale would be expedited so I would not miss much. I told her yes and allowed her to hold onto my credit card. I went to the bar and ordered a 2nd round of drinks during intermission and returned to the show. When the show concluded we left immediately since my elderly mother was not used to being out so late. It was not until I arrived back home that I realized I had left my credit card at the bar. The next morning I called the hotel and they told me they had my card in the lobby and to stop by anytime. I drove there and approached the hotel lobby employee sheepishly and explained. She was very nice and told me that it happens all the time. There was a receipt wrapped around my card totaling $109.72. I added a tip of $10.00 and left. When I arrived home my wife, who is good with numbers, took a look at the receipt. She asked me why I left a tip when Lisa the bartender had already given herself a tip of $18.26. I was confused and took a closer look at the receipt. The drink total was $83.00 + $8.46 tax + a credit convenience fee $2.74 + the self-added tip of $18.26 totaling $109.72 not including the tip I had left on tip of the tip Lisa had automatically given herself. Grand total of $122.46. Keep in mind that of the 8 drinks I had ordered, 2 were cherry cokes for the 13 year old. Flustered, I called and spoke with an employee by the name of Sue (11-03-24). She seemed perplexed that Lisa had automatically tipped herself and said that was NOT the normal practice and that she would pass it on to the food and beverage manager and it would be remedied. She took all of my information and I went about my day. I kept an eye on my records and by 11-08-24 nothing had been done. I called back and spoke with Sue who seemed a little annoyed with me. She told me that she had already passed the information on to the food and beverage manager, that she would pass it on yet again AND that it usually took 3-5 business days before I would see an adjustment. Well, by 11-20-24 (18 days later) nothing had been done. We have contacted our credit card company to contest the $18.26 out of principal. I am writing this more as a public service announcement. I realized I've been naive and this falls on me for not looking at my receipt. This being said, I do feel that the self-added tip was dishonest and that I was taken advantage of to a degree. Eric S

Also the chipotle chicken bowl is phenomenal. Their fries are homemade and are amazing. And I always order their chicken wild rice soup. It is the best. My husband always orders one of their burgers and he said they are always good. Mostly great service but lately have had a number of bad servers in a row. Not sure what is going on there but we had one server (Princess) which was pretty close to the worse service we've ever had. Was extremely rude, didn't refill sodas, and we practically had to beg her for the check. Buy other than bad service a few times and one bad menu item I'd say this place is hands down our favorite restaurant in Woodbury.

Bartenders were very nice and quick, ensuring that everyone had something to drink. I thought it was nice how the bartenders were interacting with us about sports and other fun interests, which meant that they were attentive! It was also very nice how one of the bartenders noticed I was finished with my drink and replaced it with an iced water. Once we had our party members, we were seated and were given menus. One thing I noticed was that our server ignored me and asked the rest of the table (who happened to be men) what they would like to drink. It seemed that anytime I was trying to say I would like a water, I was immediately dismissed. This happened more than once, which made the experience feel a little awkward. Since we were waiting on one more party members (who unfortunately couldn't make it at the end) maybe our server was waiting for him to be seated before taking our order? But it took her a full 20-30minutes for her to take our food orders, while I was still without a drink. I had to ask for water while making my food order. Bartending service was very nice. But table service was a bit of a disappointment. Food-wise it was alright, but nothing out of the ordinary that would make me want to come back. The inside was pretty nice though, with casual dining spaces. Unfortunately I'm not sure if I'd come back anytime soon though.

I've given this place multiple chances over the years, usually when going out with friends, but…read moreunfortunately I've never had a truly good meal here. At best, the food has been just okay--and I likely wouldn't choose it myself. My most recent visit summed up my experience. I ordered a club sandwich, expecting the usual cold ingredients (meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato) on toasted bread. Instead, everything was warm, as if the entire sandwich had been assembled and thrown on the flat top. Warm lettuce and tomato are not appetizing, and the melted cheese didn't help. I took two bites and couldn't continue. The server never checked in to ask how the food was, so I didn't mention it and still paid for the meal. Beyond the food, the cleanliness is concerning. The women's bathroom is consistently dirty, and one of the toilets is noticeably out of place. On our last visit, we also saw something dripping from the ceiling near the bar, which was off-putting. The atmosphere doesn't quite match a casual dining experience either--the music is so loud and club-like that it feels out of place, almost like you should expect people dancing on the bar. Overall, I've tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt, but the repeated issues with food quality, cleanliness, and atmosphere make it hard to recommend.

Immediately upon walking in, this place has a charming but spooky vibe! My partner and I ordered our first round of tap beers, we decided to go with the oldest ones we could find on the menu! They were absolutely delicious and full-bodied. It was a cold winter day outside, but so warm and cozy inside we never wanted to leave! To prolong to stay a little bit, we ordered a flight and shared it together. We thought it was smart of them to have get-to-know-you cards on every table to keep the conversation flowing! Honestly, I think every bar should have that! Easy St. Paul Street parking. Honorable mention to the adorable loft with the spiral staircase. Next time I'm sitting up there!

We got there at 4 PM and had about a 20 minute wait, which wasn't bad at all. When we left, I swear there were more people waiting outside than there were seated inside the restaurant. The process of getting our table was great (they definitely know what their doing) and our server was amazing, but if you're planning to go on a Friday night during fish fry season, be prepared for a wait. It was $20 for all-you-can-eat fish, but the portion sizes were pretty big to begin with, so we didn't order any extras. For sides, you could choose between fries or a baked potato, and for an extra charge, you could get au gratin potatoes. The fish was good, but the crispness level was lacking on both the fish and the fries--that's why I'm giving it 3 stars. Parking is a bit chaotic. You'll probably end up parking on a side street and walking a little bit. I will say they have a gorgeous patio! It wasn't open for dinner but the tables were all out so we could sit there with our drinks while we waiting for our table which was a nice bonus on a 70 degree day. Glad we tried a new place and happy fish fry season!
