I've had the fish & chips and they were great, but the salad is lousy. Like most joints, they don't have any idea what makes a good salad. What I got was a bowl of dry spinach leaves, raw carrots and radishes and a sacrament cup of sweet dressing. And a tiny piece of fish. $12. Very disappointing. Slapfish is one of our favorite date places to go when we feel like some pretty decent seafood. We love the lobster taquitos! We've tried just about everything on the menu, and have enjoyed it all. If you haven't yet been to Slapfish, do not let another hour pass. "Some of the best food I've had in Utah" according to my longtime-Manhattan-restaurant-owning-dining companion. While you may initially balk at paying "market price" for a fast-casual sandwich (today it was $25), it was unquestionably worth it. Overflowing with lobster meat on a toasted roll. The lobster was tender and flavorful and the portion wasn't skimpy in the least. The fish and chips was easily some of the best fish I've had anywhere. The whitefish inside was light and flaky and cooked just right, coated with a light, extremely flavorful, well seasoned batter. So flaky i had to use a fork. House made tartar sauce that was delicious. If and when they decide to open in salt lake, it will be a very welcome addition to our food scene up north read more

We love to eat here as a family. The lobster grinder is one of our favorites. The food is always fresh and tastes excellent. They also have the best cream soda, it tastes like the Butterbeer from Harry Potty World at Universal Studios. We also have a son with food allergies and they are always very helpful and kind at accommodating his needs. read more

It's hard to find fresh shellfish anywhere in Utah, let alone in northern Utah county. I've been there three times so far and it's a really good place, albeit slightly expensive which you should expect getting fresh shellfish. Lobster roll is very tasty. We ordered several things off the menu. The clam chowder was quite bad, no really bad. They covered it with bacon to hide the fact there is almost no clams in it. We did not think it was worth finishing so we just ate the sandwiches we ordered. When I went back to it after it had cooled, it was a solid blob, I was able to pickup all of bowls content with my spoon, it is nothing but corn starch. The fries are not that good, very greasy. They do not have Coke or Pepsi, they have this funny tasting soda. The sandwiches we had were good, but not great and certainly over priced. read more

I was sooo excited to finally try out Slapfish today. Weve tried going twice, but it's been packed. I ordered the Clobster Grilled Cheese, which was AMAZING!!! super delicious. My husband got the seafood burrito, which was also amazing. The kids meal was well priced and a good sized serving for my lil one. I will forsure be returning and wanting to try out the other dishes. The seafood was super fresh and tasty. My only complaint, was the fries served with my meal weren't really warm, and that was a slight disappointment.. My Hubby & I went to Slapfish for the 1st time last night...I had the Grilled Shrimp roll and hubby had the one piece fish & chips...both were delicious! Fresh Shrimp on buttery roll and amazing fish and chips (not a huge chips fan) but the fish was light, breading was just right and not greasy tasting at all. We went back tonight for another round of the fish and chips...we got the 2 piece and substituted cole slaw for the chips...wonderful homemade recipe! We both left full and satisfied. Management came over both nights to check how the food was and share the concepts of Slapfish's sustainability. We will regular customers for sure!! read more

Let's get right to it... the food is good. Reeeeally good. Their chowder is great! I got the lobster grilled cheese with chowder fries. I like that the thing wasn't so cheesy it overpowered the rest of the sandwich. The flavors complimented each other well and it was great! I wish I had a second one. The chowder fries were great! I wish they would have put a little more chowder in there but the fries were delicious and the combo is a must have. I have them a 4 of 5 because the portion size doesn't really match the pricing. You don't get much food for what you're paying. The sourdough is also pretty weak. I personally like my sourdough bread very sour but this stuff might as well have been white bread. The texture of the bread was good though. I think this place is really good but the price point is a little too rich for what you get in my opinion. I'll definitely be saving up some shmeckles to come back though. read more

Shiplap walls, metal chairs, marina, dock like feel but clean as you walk into this this stellar restaurant. Growing up in Northern California, we miss this crisp, ocean vibe! Fresh off the dock taste too! I went with my entire family, so I got to taste a lot;) Me personally, I got the lobster grinder. They take a thick piece of better-than-garlic toast type of roll, buttered and fried and split it, intentionally overfilling it with crab, shrimp and lobster pieces in a decadent slightly spicy, creamy sauce, drizzled with a white seasoned sauce on top. Sandwiches come with fries that are seasoned too and an incredibly tasty suped up version of fry sauce! Husband got the surf and turf lobster burger. Perfect juicy burger topped with succulent crab leg and lobsters pieces. These are both a fine choice if you are drooling at the lobster roll and can't quite spend that much. The lobster roll which is amazing in itself is a bit pricey since it's market price(for what lobster costs for the day). But that is completely fair since its not just any seafood sandwich, it's stacked with loads of big quality lobster. People who say the price is ridiculous aren't quite familiar with seafood, let alone quality. The seating is a bit limited (because it SOO GOOD!) during summer especially but very comfortable gathering round a big wooden table with friends n fam. Staff is so friendly, like Family almost. Yay for seafood in the middle of no where (UT). Away from the ocean, but yet so scrumptiously fresh! It was love at first bite, what else can I say? The first time I tried SLAPFISH was a week after my vacation to California. I had my share of lobster rolls while I was out there and the lobster roll I had here was just as good and fresh, if not, better comparatively! Sure they prices can be hefty but they are the about the same as California and with this place, I am a firm believer in "you get what you pay for." For a lobster roll, expect to pay at least $25 but they definitely do not skimp on the lobster. Portion looks small but after you get half way through, you find yourself getting pretty full with all the lobster meat. I would suggest if you go with someone to share a lobster roll and another sandwich like a clobster grilled cheese. That way you get a taste of everything. We also tried the ceviche, which was a little lack luster but shrimp was more fresh tasting than any other shrimp dish I've had in the county. They also have their own sugar cane sodas on fountain which are delicious. All in all, this place is my go-to for a TREAT YO' SELF, meal. It's worth it! read more

This place has an exciting menu with items like the lobster burger and shrimp roll. We ordered the lobster burger, fish and chips, epic fish burrito and clam chowder. I always order clam chowder in any fish restaurant. That is a staple and can tell you how fresh it is. The clam chowder was tasteless even with pepper. It was missing the taste of clam. Very creamy and lots of condiment toppings like bacon but not actually chowder. Half way through our meal we finally stopped got to stop yelling at each other from across the table because of the music. There was no ketchup and our fries were cold by the time we got it filled. Thats why i gave it a three instead of a four. The chips were average, however, i wish they had put more seasoning on the chips. It made them less bland and stood our from other chips ive tried. On a positive note all the drinks served are made out of real cane sugar, very good. The rest of the meal was delicious. Our favorite being the surf and turf lobster burger. The serving sizes are large and perfect for sharing. Overall its great for a quick stop. But pass on the chowder. read more

Had an awesome first experience here. I really enjoyed the "Ultimate Fish Taco". Since I was so pleased, my husband and I decided to go back. We waited in line, and made a simple to go order. After waiting about 30 minutes, my husband asked the cashier how much longer it would be. She responded in a very sassy tone that our food would be right out. Another 15 minutes later, she brought us our food "thanking" us for our patience. We got home, and pulled our food out of the bag. I got the fish burrito, it apparently has cabbage and guacamole that was not in my burrito, and an abundance of mushy rice. My husband got the fish and chips. His fries looked like they had been sitting out for awhile, and were getting on the soggy side. The cod also tasted old and frozen. We may have to wait awhile to go back after this bad experience for a place that had so much promise. read more

We were on our way back from SLC and looking for lunch. I saw a place called Slap Fish. So, I looked at the menu on my phone and it looked sooo good my mouth was watering. We were headed to Lehi so we stopped at that store. I ordered the Lobster Roll but was told that for that day it was $25.00 ("if that's ok" she asked? More than I wanted to spend for lunch and having no idea how good it was) so decided on the Fish Taco and the Shrimp Ceviche. My husband ordered the Double Fish and Chips. Well, I'm not sure if they every ate Ceviche before and what I was served wasn't it. There may have been shrimp in it I'm just not sure. I think what was substituted was a white fish of some sort and a lot of veggies. $7.00. As for White Fish, that is what the Fish and Chips fish were as well as the Fish Taco, both crispy not grilled and they did state that it was white fish. I prefer halibut or at least haddock. The fries were really good and the pink sauce was luscious (love my pink sauce) but the tarter sauce was not what I would make or eat.... The fish in both meals was WAY FISHIE and had too much breading and too little fish for us and for the price. Some of my fish was mushy. They had lots of condiments and the portions are large though. Disappointing at best. $37.00 and ???? calories I will not get back. read more

I've given slap fish several chances before writing a review because I have heard a few negative comments on their service and food but I have had nothing short of a great experience every time I choose Slapfish. It is a good change to have seafood in Utah county seeing that there are very few choices for seafood in the area. I recommend getting a bowl or the burger- they have been my favorite selections yet. The burger comes with melty cheese and a variety of sauces and the bowl is a great choice for a light, healthy lunch. They have different fish options depending on the day and season for a mix up. My one complaint is that the fries are not fish and chip standard, they are more like burger fries so if you are expecting your traditional fish and chips meal look elsewhere. Slapfish is especially busy around the lunch hour, the restaurant space is not large and you may have to wait for a party to finish their meal and leave to take a seat. Service is fast but the seating is slow. read more

A food truck decided to open a restaurant then franchise. Some food trucks provide a killer experience. This did not. The tight confines requires everyone to work together. May I recomend trying the "Lobsta Truck" in LA. They put out high quality at reasonable prices. Now we have a fast food dining experience that lacks in all regards. Going up to the counter to order, I was greeted by a blank look wondering if anyone was home. I asked what was good. It's all good. I think interaction with customers wasn't in the job description. I ordered the "clobster sandwich" It sounded good. I love crab and lobster as a combination. There is a difference between shoving food out of the window and taking the time to care about what you serve up. This was shove it out the window and move on. I finished off half of the meal. The fries were the best part. I was getting ready to leave and the manager came over and asked how it was. Not so great. I really hate it when people apologize for poor quality. Do it right the first time. Make it memorable. No return even though the manager gave me a free meal coupon. read more
