Well, I made my way up to Bradenton and the trip was well worth every penny. Alan and Roy did a nice job aquatinting me with the information I needed to purchase my Corvette. The car was every bit how Alan had described. He had said that I wouldn't be disappointed and I was not. Roy worked on my paperwork and an hour later I was driving back south with a incredibly nice Corvette. No bartering for the price, I had done my homework and knew what they were going for. I just wanted to update everyone on the car I bought at Skyway & was assured it was in great shape. Even the owners son told me that he would buy this car. Now, $20,000+ later, I am still trying to fix the many things that are wrong, like brakes, battery, tires, top all the gaskets, radiator. I could go on but you get the point. These people are dishonest. DO NOT buy anything from them until you have it completely checked out by an impartial mechanic. They are smooth talkers but will lie right to you face. I went it to look around for a truck and walked through the place for about 20 minutes or so. There were no sales staff in the larger garage where the majority of the cars were staged. I spoke briefly with 2 other people who asked me if I was a salesman! So I went into a smaller building where several employees were. Not one asked if I needed help. I literally approached one and asked if the cars in the main garage were for sale. He said yes and kept talking to his buddy! With customer service like that it is no wonder that garage is packed. I guess they think they're trophies. So I went back through the main garage to get to my car and 1 guy I spoke with previously said he was leaving because he couldn't get anyone to answer any questions (the guy in there was a mechanic) and the other guy was leaving in his car and rolled down his window and said he was leaving even though he went into the sales office and asked for some help. He said they would be out in a minute and never came out the entire time he was looking at the cars! Awful! read more

I had a terrible experience with these used car salesmen. I lost money on a car due to flaws that were not revealed, after being talked out of getting an inspection. I filed a BBB complaint, which was not resolved; however, BBB told me that companies only need to respond to a complaint to keep a good rating, not to resolve it. I would say buyers should exercise caution and get an inspection, and see the car in person to avoid my bad experience. read more

My husband and I drove 108 miles from Bonita Springs Florida to Skyway Classics in Bradenton Florida to check out a 38 Chevy. Shane Hale promptly greeted us showed us around and lead us right to the car to check it out. He took us for a test drive and we noticed a few things that needed to be addressed. The radio was dead, the door handle was loose and it needed front seat belts but the car ran great. He promised to have everything fixed and deliver the car to us and he did exactly that! Some great automobiles to look at, buy and it has a great vibe. It was definitely a stroll through five or more decades of automobile memories and the products look great anywhere from $5k to $500k. BUYER BE AWARE! General/Sales Manager (now Chief Revenue Officer Officer) Alan Tanski is a SHYSTER!! I was an out of state buyer and did a zoom call with him for a 1966 Mustang. I was going to do a pre-purchase inspection, but Alan Tanski said, "car drove great, everything worked, and car had power steering and power brakes." Car had some scratches and paint imperfections that he said he "would take care of." Car arrived with the same scratches and paint imperfections (he didn't do anything) should have been a sign. I drove the Mustang, alignment was way off, transmission popped out of gear, needed a new clutch and there was no power steering or power brakes. Which all should have been evident to a professional. I spoke with Alan Tanski and informed him of the problems and that the car had been checked out by reputable and qualified mechanic. Alan Tanski even spoke with the mechanic and argued with him that he was wrong. Alan Tanski finally agreed to pay a small portion of the transmission bill but nothing else. I took the Mustang to get an alignment and I was informed that the Mustang had front frame damage. I, again, spoke with Alan Tanski and informed him of the problem and his response was "I don't check every car and don't know all the problems they may have." But yet at the beginning of the sale he represented that the "car drove great and everything worked." When I questioned him to how he could sell a car that had these problems and that he should pay to make it right. He ARGUED and SHOUTED that he would not pay for any of it. Alan Tanski is a SHYSTER!! In addition, the following were issues with the Mustang, the gauges and stereo did not work, needed two front tires and a tune-up. All of this has been going on for many months that is why the delay in the review. BUYER BE AWARE!! Alan Tanski is SHYSTER!! Who falsely represents his products and services. Great place to shop for that classic car. These guys love cars. There is a constant flow; different cars every week. Visiting here is like entering a time machine to the past. Your mind drifts back to younger years as you relive the sights, smells and feelings of the past. The magic is that you can own a car from your youth and relive the Sunday drives of yesteryear. It makes you feel young again as your mind floods with all the memories. Prices are very reasonable and these guys know their stuff. They will do all they can to get you into the car of you dreams. They will also sell your car to the next person who will care for it and the memories continue. read more

The vehicle that I purchased was as described in the ad, but the salesperson/owner unfortunately is a stereotypical used car salesman; long on commitment and short on delivery. If you're buying from them, my advice is to not do so from another state and pay them to transport it. The first problem presented itself when the vehicle was paid for. The used car salesman said "I can get it to you by this Saturday.. no need to use an outside shipper". Then they received the wire transfer and it became next Saturday. Then it became Sunday at 6am. Then 12pm. Then 230pm and eventually 5pm. It (eventually) arrived with a broken side mirror and no apologies, just "you're lucky I saw it blow off and stopped to pick it up.. you should be able to fix it". It also arrived sans doors and top (it was a classic Jeep). He said he forgot them. It arrived sans title as well.. He then advised that I would need starter fluid each time I try to start the vehicle.. he didn't show me THAT on the video chat showing me the car. Imagine that! The used car salesman then promised to overnight mail the documents and the missing soft top and doors on that Monday. A couple of follow up calls got him off his rear to mail the title on Tuesday, via 3 day mail. He then promised (are you seeing a trend here?) to get the top shipped on Wednesday, "because he had to order a box". On Thursday, he said that he had an employee ship it and would call later with the tracking number. He didn't respond on Friday when I called yet again. He apparently decided that shipping cost too much and that it would be better to work it into his next delivery and to stall the customer long enough to do so. He apparently dropped the missing items off in front of a closed office in a dark parking lot in the early AM. I've yet to receive the information regarding the extended service contract that was also sold with the vehicle, and I don't have high hopes for getting it or for the level of service that may come with it. All in all, if you're there in the room ensuring that the representations made are being honored, they have some cool cars. Just don't expect a great deal of follow through if you aren't there to hold their hands. *Edit: Subsequent to leaving this review, I received a message accusing me of "Hiding behind my computer". I preferred (and still prefer) to end our discussions, as the only substance that came from verbal conversations were assertions that things would be done in a timeframe that the used car dealer had no intention of upholding. read more

This place is horrible! Alan Tanski, the CEO and Sales Manager is rude, obnoxious and almost never available. Skyway Classics sold me a 2007 Mazda Miata, on consignment, that had no catalytic converter, in violation of both Florida and Federal law. They did this, despite signing a required legal document stating that they had inspected the car and found the catalytic converter to be installed and undamaged. In addition, the car arrived at my home with a damaged radio and speakers which they had told me were working properly at their dealership. For some reason, which they will not reveal to me, they installed a new battery while performing an oil change. I believe it was during this procedure that the radio system was damaged. Skyway Classics would only pay me $200 of the $2,400 which I had to spend to fix these problems. $1,800 of the $2,400 was the cost for installing a catalytic converter system which was required to register the car. I have reported Skyway Classics to The EPA, the Better Business Bureau, the Department of Motor Vehicles, and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. I also plan on taking legal action. We all make mistakes but when a company reacts by using evasive and disingenuous tactics, as Skyway Classics has done, they reveal themselves as predators. I strongly advise avoiding them. read more

I had been looking for the perfect muscle car for myself for quite a while, when I found a beautiful red 72 Chevelle listed here at Skyway Classics. During the time I was getting the details figured out: financing, insurance, and shipping, Al was great to work with. He's very knowledgeable and willing to take the time to give a potential client all the information one would need to make the best decision for them. Living across the country in Salt Lake City from Skyway Classics in Florida, this could have been an overwhelming disaster. But Al made buying a car sight-unseen as seamless as possible. He was very responsive to any and all questions/concerns I had during the process. He has been very helpful, trustworthy, and reliable from start to finish. He got it on the shipping trailer as soon as possible, and it even arrived a few days earlier than expected, which was great! I've had several questions since I received the car, since it's been 20 years since I've driven a classic muscle car, and Al has been great it answering his phone/returning calls helping me with any info I was asking for. I feel like I got the car as it was advertised. The only thing I'd recommend to any buyer, just for their own knowledge, is make sure to get an inspection on the vehicle. I feel fortunate to have found such a great car, listed with a great company owned by such a good guy. This is rare in the car industry, so it's good to feel cared about and so taken care of so well! I know it's common to see this but if I could rate Skyway Classics a 0 I would. I live in Washington state and I work for a man who owns a really large car dealership, this man and his family have been serving the people of the community for over 50 years and give back in a way that most of us wish we could. My boss decided he wanted a classic truck, a 72 Chevy long bed to be exact. He woke up everyday and searched and searched and we found a few that looked good but didn't make the cut. He had shown me a truck that Skyway had listed that seemed to be the one and asked me to contact the dealer and get more info. All while we are doing this his only daughter is getting ready to get married and he is like many people still dealing with the re opening of his business, his exact orders are if it looks good buy it. I contact the dealer and talk to Al Tanski and I explain what we are trying to pull off and ask for a few things, info on title a video of the truck on the lift and stuff like that. I will say he was able to get all of that in pretty quick order. Al is someone who thinks pretty highly of himself and in conversation told me who I should vote for what I should believe and how his word is his bond, this is where I need to alert you that he is a LIAR. His word is no good and if he is the owner like he claims to be I have a real problem with the way he does business. He said if we wanted the truck we needed to put a deposit on it, we did that day, he said he had someone else who was on the truck but if we gave him a deposit the truck was ours, he LIED. starting to pick up on what I am laying down, Al Tanski is a LIAR. Al sent over docs to be signed on the 19th of June my boss signed them on the 20th of June and on the 23rd of June I fed ex'd a check for the full amount to Al and Skyway classics for the full amount of the purchase minus our deposit of 500 dollars. The whole week I was unable to reach Al and was starting to get worried, Al finally reached out to me with some long winded story full of lies on why he hadn't gotten back to me, he said he would be back in the office the next day and we would finish the deal up. on June 25th we spoke and he told me that someone had put a deposit on the truck we bought the day before, we signed the docs on the 20th and paid for the vehicle in full before this happened and Al Tanski tells me that "I need to get over it, shit happens" all from a guy who thinks so highly of himself. Here is my warning to you, future customer. Al unlike myself or the owner of my company is in it for himself and that's it. Al Tanski is a LIAR in a way that is truly shameful. In short we did not get the truck we lost it to EBAY (who loses to ebay anymore) and I made sure and cooled down before I wrote this so that what you read is the truth not emotion, I hope you buy elsewhere. read more
