This was my first time coming to this dealership since I recently moved and didn't want to drive as far. There was a line of cars with the same idea as me -- but, as soon as they opened, I noticed a difference in the efficiency of how they handled their earliest customers. Every employee I interacted with was welcoming; chief amongst them, Shawn, my technician. He was friendly, communicative, and clear. He provided a time estimate and completed the service in that timeframe, and he directed me to where I could wait, find refreshments, and also walked me back to my car (at other locations, I was usually given my keys and would go find my car on my own). It was a near-ideal experience for something as mundane as a maintenance appointment, and I will definitely return.

Fernanda helped us and she was excellent; knowledgeable about the products and friendly. We test drove three and decided on the Prius limited edition. They had one available with all the right features and colors. We negotiated a bit with the sales manager. Surprisingly he came down quite a bit from the initial price he offered. The entire process took and 4 hours.

My daughter was searching for cars with Carfax. She found the car of her dreams at Gettel Hyundai…read more She contacted the dealer and started what she thought was the buying process, including completing a credit app. When she called the next morning to get a status update she was informed the car was sold to someone else. The salesman said it was out of his control, a manager had let the car go because they do not hold cars. So, the car is gone, and no one really cares about my daughter's deal. This dealer is all about the money. For example, in every used car contract they include an Average Investment Reconditioning cost of $1,495 and a Pre-Delivery Service Charge of $1,099. So, there is $1,500 to wash and vacuum the car, and the salesman told me the $1,099 goes in Mr. Gettel's pocket to "help pay expenses." If you would prefer not to deal with a dealer that typifies the "used car dealer," then find someone else to buy a car from. UPDATE: Within two hours my daughter found the same model car with similar mileage and price at Courtesy Chrysler Jeep in Tampa. She asked them if they would sell the car out from under her while she was completing the finance application. They responded, "no that would not be fair, we would never do that." She completed the app, was approved in less than a minute, and the deal was sealed. And, there was no Average Investment Reconditioning or Pre-Delivery Service Charge! How Gettel Hyundai gets good reviews is beyond me.

I was originally quoted one price for the repair, but later I was told the cost went up because I "needed hoses added," with no clear explanation or proof provided for why those parts were necessary. There was no documentation, no visual inspection shown, and no real breakdown to justify the added work--just a verbal claim that it was required. On top of that, the final charge ended up being more than 3x what the same OEM part is listed for at Ford, which raises serious concerns about how the pricing was marked up and presented. The issues didn't stop there. This happened on a Friday. I was told my car would be ready before 4:00 PM, but around 4:30 PM I only received a last-minute text update. I arrived at approximately 5:09 PM, and the shop was already closed. There was no one available, no way to speak to anyone, and no reliable way to get updates or access my vehicle. Because of the timing and the fact that it was already Friday evening, my car would have been stuck there all weekend until Monday, which directly affected my work schedule. I had to go out of my way to find and contact the owner myself just to avoid being left without my vehicle for multiple days. While I did get my car back, the overall experience felt inconsistent, poorly communicated, and not handled in a transparent or professional way

I finally succeeded in finding a different advisor and booked an afternoon service( botts were no help). I feel sorry for elderly customers who must feel frustrated trying this process- never dealing with a human. Once at the dealership, situation similar to last time- still under construction but very few people demanding car problems be addressed(afternoon appointment worthwhile); Waiting area still the same; at least the leather chairs are comfortable. Joey took good care of me advising me about the progress the technician was making. Still love the dealership and my car should be good until we return in the fall. I hope the construction is finally completed by then.

I barely drive the car but was told that despite only driving the car 2K miles since last oil change, because it was a year since the oil change, that I was due for an oil change. I declined even though a coupon was offered. The business model is to get you on all the extras when you bring your vehicle in for routine recommended maintenance. You will be told it is all needed "to keep your car running" but my response to that is why should I have to pay 100s of dollars to keep a 2 year old, $60K car with only 15K miles running? If that's the case I should have just bought a 15 year old beater and then I wouldn't complain if I had to spend money to keep it going. This car also had battery replaced in the first year. Service told me if I don't use the car for at least a month that I need to keep it on a trickle charger....WHAT?!?! Brand new car that has to be on a trickle charger if I don't drive it every 4 weeks at a minimum or unplug the battery....huh. I solved the problem by letting the Lexus app expire so that way the car wasn't constantly trying to connect with the satellite when not in use, draining the battery. Lastly, get that remodel done. That place is a hot mess, confusing, no orderly system, and all you do is wander around a construction site maze trying to find your way to the door. It makes one want to avoid this place at all costs. P.S. never did get my tires rotated, service video showed "they were fine, no need to rotate"....imagine that. But at least I didn't get gouged on all the extras.
