First of all, I am a 67 year old retiree who bought his first Honda in 1980 and have rarely…read morewondered from the brand. When thinking about buying "my last new car" I settled on the Hyundai Elantra SEL Sport and headed to Gettel Hyundai on RT 64. And I am so glad I did! Having done my (extensive) research, I sat down with Scott Mintz (sales consultant) and began "the dance". He provided straight forward answers with no nonsense and no pressure. Understand that I had a number in mind and was not going to exceed that number (outright cash purchase with a trade) After Scott made a couple of trips to the "glass office" Bill Marquis introduced himself as the GSM (the hand-off), I explained the rationale behind the offer and we agreed on a number and we closed the deal. All in all, the finest car buying experience of my life!!!

Took my 2015 Sonata in on 2/23/26 when the red oil light started flashing. Service manager Michael…read moreFreshour said it's a "common" oil burning issue, told me to SKIP the $250 diagnostic, and pushed $1,143 in oil/fluid changes instead. Light came back on the drive home. Returned next day--now it's a $7,000 engine leak they say makes it "unsafe to drive." Turns out he also failed to document my oil light complaint on the work order, so Hyundai Corporate couldn't help when I escalated. This is the same Sonata engine defect behind Hyundai's class actions. Authorized dealer should know better than to send you home in a ticking time bomb without proper diagnosis. Filed BBB complaint--no refund offered. Steer clear unless you enjoy safety risks and $1k+ in useless services.

I was originally quoted one price for the repair, but later I was told the cost went up because I "needed hoses added," with no clear explanation or proof provided for why those parts were necessary. There was no documentation, no visual inspection shown, and no real breakdown to justify the added work--just a verbal claim that it was required. On top of that, the final charge ended up being more than 3x what the same OEM part is listed for at Ford, which raises serious concerns about how the pricing was marked up and presented. The issues didn't stop there. This happened on a Friday. I was told my car would be ready before 4:00 PM, but around 4:30 PM I only received a last-minute text update. I arrived at approximately 5:09 PM, and the shop was already closed. There was no one available, no way to speak to anyone, and no reliable way to get updates or access my vehicle. Because of the timing and the fact that it was already Friday evening, my car would have been stuck there all weekend until Monday, which directly affected my work schedule. I had to go out of my way to find and contact the owner myself just to avoid being left without my vehicle for multiple days. While I did get my car back, the overall experience felt inconsistent, poorly communicated, and not handled in a transparent or professional way

Background, I was a diesel mechanic…read morefor about 11 years and know when I'm being screwed/getting smoke blown by a guy who doesn't know what he is talking about (my service write). I also have health issues so I didn't have time to fix the truck this time around but I usually do all the services. Anyway, I took my truck in to SERVICE for a recall, and 2 days before the appt (on a Saturday) it began acting up. They said they would look at it during the recall and called to tell me it was a fuel pressure sensor and a fuel rail because the sensor is inside the rail (it isn't). They quoted me 10hrs book time and on 3 different phone calls insinuated that if it could be done in less time, the price would be cheaper than the $3000 quoted. I had no choice, as I needed my truck for Monday and I couldn't get the parts shipped until then. Come to find out, he lied about shaving time off the bill. They finished the recall AND the repair in 3 hours and charged me the full amount. On the receipt, the parts were insanely marked up as well. RockAuto has OEM for $100. ACDelco had it for $230. THEIR OWN PARTS DEPT had none in stock but charged $380 for it, and the receipt had it marked up to $560 so the writer could get his max commission. The fuel sensor was $150 for a $30 part. The kicker is, I had to take it back 2 weeks later because the fuel rail was "bad again". I told him it was the fact that his "Master Mechanic" had used barrel connectors on very sensitive wiring and not even bothered wrapping tape around them. He should have used a waterproof connector and/or spliced the wiring in for the fuel pressure sensor. Not the cheapest, laziest method he could think of. So when I brought it back I told the service writer and when he returned the vehicle, he said the Master Mechanic had wrapped some cloth tape around the wires. Great, that should hold in even more collected moisture once the rain and humidity kick back up. Then I had a guy cause an accident so I used their BODY SHOP. They estimated it, said it may need a new bumper but at least a tow hook, buff some paint, and a couple brackets. They were also supposed to look at the TPMS since it was reading 20psi with 60psi in the tire after the crash. No biggy, the other guy was at fault and charged with Reckless Driving. His insurance was paying 100%. When I dropped it off, they did another estimate and said it didn't need a bunch of stuff from the first estimate, "but we will check". He said the TPMS would be hard to get on the claim, and there was no way it could be related. Also he said the lines that the first estimator said would require a new bumper weren't 'bad enough' to bother with a new bumper. But they replaced the wheel well trim piece and a fog light that were perfectly fine. If the impact 'didn't reach' the tire for the TPMS, and the bumper wasn't bend enough to worry about the lines, how did it affect the wheel well trim that was fine when I dropped it off? BUT when I got the truck back, I made it 10 minutes down the road before the front tire was shaking so bad I had to turn around. It felt like they had left a tie rod off or all the lug nuts. They took it for a test drive with me as passenger, and he tried to cover his arm up when the steering wheel starting shaking out of his hand. He admitted it wasn't like that when I dropped it off (This was 2 months after the crash waiting for the at-fault guys insurance to reply, and I drive 1000 miles a week. I would have noticed if it was bad) but that all he could do is send it to the SERVICE department so *I* could pay $300 for an alignment because he had already closed out the insurance claim. When I asked about the TPMS he said they didn't even look at it. Come to find out afterwards, the crash caused enough of a shock that it was reading the right rear tire as the front right tire and vice versa. It took me 10 minutes to figure out when I got home and checked all 4 tire pressures. They were also nice enough to leave ALL the garbage and parts they swapped, in the bed of my truck. His advice to me was "Probably better find a mechanic and have them take a look at it". No problem. I absolutely will. It will not be your shop(s). You have really taken more to screwing your customers for a quick buck but my time and service will not be spent there anymore. The only redeeming quality was that the two ladies in the body shop waiting area were lovely to deal with.
