We went through a fear stage with our shepherd which we have never experienced with our other dog. They were able to help us through this stage and help find what works for him and to over come things that were an issue. He use to pull on the leash and now we can walk nicely on a leash on one side. Any questions or concerns we had or have they were able to answer and help with. We see a big difference in our dog vs when we first enrolled him into training. They teach you to train your dog, so you know what you need to do. We worked with Kyla and she was great. We are currently in group classes and Kyle, Kyla, and Brian have all been great. The group classes have really helped with dog reactivity and working around distractions. They are all patient and very knowledgeable, especially with our working breed shepherd. I highly recommend this place and we will continue to go here with any future pup.

The gen seem to be nice and said that if…read moreanything would happen he would call us and I told him to contact me at anytime. we brought there own food and a brand New bed that we purchased the night before big enough for both of them instead of taking the two smaller beds from home. when we went to pick Chico and Pepe up it was terrible. the minute we walked in you could smell the place. he opened the door to the kennel where he had big fans blowing the smell back away from the door. our dogs were in the Second kennel and whe he opened the door they were huddled in a Conner shaking and withdrawn. they wouldn't even come to me. the floor had a towel on it and the whole floor was wet from urine. he said he threw the new bed away because of the smell! he should have called me before doing so . it was a new bed that I just spent $30 on. he said he threw it away from the smell of urine. if the doges were let out more than once a day they would not urinate in the pen. I pick them up and they smelled horrible!!!!! he never over to pay for the bed nor did he call to ask to what he should do with it. he had no right to do that without paying for it. I had to give bother dogs a bath as soon as we got home. they were timid for a day because of the lack of care for them. be careful of who you trust with your little loved ones. if there not let out properly they have to do there business somewhere. and from my understanding with the rain that week, he only let them out at his convenience. We will not be back. We are unsure what happened to our dog during her grooming session. She…read morespent the rest of the day, into the evening whimpering and walking in circles after coming home from being groomed. She was also licking the back of her legs incessantly? She acted like someone had hit her? like she was afraid? We thoroughly inspected her for injuries and we found none; however, we found that her underside was not even washed (had loose stool still in her fur), so we had to wash her bottom and trim her hair down there (after we paid $85 plus tip) Also her grinch paws were not trimmed sufficiently and her nails were still long. We ended up giving her Trazadone to relax her, which helped. She acted sickly for 2 days after being groomed. Then, a week after that we found that she had a raging ear infection that cost us $176 at the vet. Be careful if you plan to us this company. I did file a complaint with the BBB.

Balmorhea answered all my questions and did not hesitate to spend time explaining what they were going to do to keep my dog safe. I picked him up after 2 days, what dog doesn't go crazy upon seeing their person even for a little bit? Balmorhea made sure to bring him to me directly and then packaged up his stuff I had brought. They even washed his toy (although he is the one who probably dirtied it up). My experience was fantastic. About 6 hours now and he is acting normal so no negative effects to report. If I have to board him again, will definitely use Balmorhea Kennels again.

I rescued an 11-month German Shorthaired Pointer who had a very high prey drive and absolutely no recall. My GSP is now a reliable trail and beach dog who responds to a code word ("Come" no longer worked when we met Elissa.) and/or whistle. Elissa worked with us 4-5 times, but mostly she gave me the understanding, skills and followup exercises to work with my dog myself. She explained behavior theory behind the exercises, showed me how to properly carry them out. She followed each training session with detailed notes and other resources. Success wasn't instant, but steady. With Elissa's help, I have a trustworthy companion whom I feel comfortable letting off leash.
